In the end, what was the official reason for his WWE release? Last report I read back in September was vague as hell.
Man if only wrestling managed to unionize...Per the WON - all new TKO contracts have a one year non compete if they are fired for cause.
There's no way a non-compete that restrictive would hold up in court. Especially if its unpaid and for "independent contractors"
There’s zero chance that’ll hold up if he goes to court.
A year-long compete is reserved for people that have trade secrets.
They’re certainly not paying him for a year, right?I don't think the WWE non-competes ever counted as the same as these types either tbf. The whole paying for the 90 days is what made it mostly okay, it was more of a 90 day notice you're being let go than a real non compete.
But what little we've seen of this alleged non-compete so far certainly seems like a more standard corporate one you see everywhere else
Yeah like, its fucking wild man. A whole ass year? Like no, just fucking no.View attachment 93191
What he said.
So yeah, it’s one thing to have 90 days paid as an early notice of your termination, but you can’t fire someone, not pay them and restrict their ability to find new work when trade secret law doesn’t apply.
