@Brett Are you familiar with, and how do you feel about Cage The Elephant's cover of Instant Crush? I like it quite well and I like that I could listen to both versions and it wouldn't feel redundant.

Not the biggest fan of that cover.... however Too Late To Say Goodbye unpeeled may be Cage's best song / performance ever

The hardest part of this. Is when you like an artist, but when the album as a whole just isn't hitting. So you have to not allowing your bias subjectiveness to dilute your actual objectiveness based on your original subjective scoring equitation

For me the hardest part is length of albums making a great listen only good by just never ending

I wouldn't categorize it as a hard thing, but definitely can be disappointing and it's a pretty common thing. I personally think 40-60 minutes is peak album length. Some longer ones are still great, and there are also some great shorter ones. But usually that's enough to convey the essence of the album and ideally weave in some highs and lows, narrative, etc. Longer than like 70 minutes, I think 98% of albums are just gonna have superfluous shit at that point.

You mean for the whole playlist? That I could kinda understand. Most of my albums are about 50 minutes long with some going a little over an hour, so I could see that.
