THIS makes me feel old.

My 8th grade Mt. Rushmore of bands woulda been Seether, Linkin Park, Three Days Grace and Disturbed. I have nothing against these bands now, but current day me certainly isn't rushing to listen to any of the above anymore.

I have literally seen 3 of the 4 bands listed. LP in 2024, Disturbed 3 times last in 2023, and 3DG in 2019 ( or 20 18 can't remember which when they opened for Disturbed).

Oh yeah movies definitely also. Definitely probably something to do with your mind and associating come you love with the music. Which checks out because a lot of songs I love come from WWE or NASCAR games. Like most people would think I wouldn't care for anything Skillet did, but SvR 2010 has two songs "Hero" and "Monster.' I fuck with both.

In fairness, I'm sure I'd heard it prior bc I'm now thinking back to how old I was when I watched Fight Club for the first time lol but it was the first time it stuck with me, I had to look up what the song was after.

I've also had a few instances where I rewatched a movie and realized they were full of albums I later listened to a really fucked with, but didn't know at the time and didn't realize the movies used them lol Warrior has a lot of The National songs and Good Will Hunting has like an entire Elliot Smith album on it lmao probably why those albums later sounded so familiar

Yeah they are a few songs that I like because of that also. Ladies & Gentlemen by Saliva is one I admit I love because of it the theme for Mania during the time me and my friend back in school would sit and talk about wrestling all the time during lunch. So it reminds me of a great time in my life.

Yea, but against a juggernaut hit like Umbrella? When I saw the match up, I could've sworn that's a lost round... I guess I'll never fully understand BOTS.

Umbrella would have gotten my vote if it wasn't for Jay-Z on it. Several of those R&B songs in this competition would have been better without the rap.

The main matchup I struggled with was Bloc Party vs. Plain White Ts. I really fucked with the Bloc Party song and had never heard it before. Went with Hey There Delilah because, although there was a time when I woulda considered it played out, it's been on the periphery long enough now that it's enjoyable to listen to again.

Hey There Delilah is John Mayer-level bad.
