I have to say, between Stojy and his diary covering the entire industry, deltablues' WSW and BattleTank's NWATNA I was loving spending some time reading and learning about those worlds. For me, it's not about detail, but about making things matter and building characters and taking liberties with people to make something work. I love the realism of these stories - especially because it increases the challenge for the writer - but what really made me care was the effort in crafting identity. Really good work from those 3 and the few others I've read. Appreciate this list as now I know the forums top 15 to have a read through for this month.
