Batista and Randy Orton

At Armageddon we're going to see Batista vs. Randy Orton, two of the biggest superstars of the company going up against each other in one huge match. The question is who will prove to be the bigger superstar for the company going into 2009? The outcome of the match at Armageddon will answer the question to some extent. But considering the crap that happens with most of the wrestlers and superstars in the business, you can't trust the creative department nor the superstars themselves. They might make Randy Orton win at Armageddon and then suspend him a week later for trashing his hotel room or something similar to that.

Going into 2009 who do you think will prove to be the bigger superstar for the company? Thoughts on Batista/ Orton at Armageddon? And out of the two, who won't 'mess up' before WrestleMania?

Not really. It's not a dumb thread and question.

Biggest Superstar is probably tied, Orton for his recent stuff, Batista, coz well, it is Batista.

The match will be ok, but Orton will carry Tista throughout, he is pretty much the better wrestler. I can imagine a clean win for Orton, or a draw.

Orton won't mess up, he hardly ever does. Batista will, but he will still get cheered.

Biggest superstar = Batista. As much as I like Orton and as far more talented than Batista he is, Batista is the bigger name of the two.

As for the match I think that Orton will most likely carry Batista all the way through the match but depsite that I think the two of them can make quite a good matchpu out of it. I see Orton winning after interference from Rhodes and Manu.

I don't think either man will mess up. It is rare to see Orton put on a sloppy match but it isn't impossible either and I think Batista won't mess up either as long as he keeps things as simple as possible and stays in his comfert zone.

I guess Batista is the "bigger superstar" in terms of overness but I really could care less. I don't like him at all, and I am still waiting for the bastard to TURN HEEL!! Batista, Orton, Manu, Dibiase, and Rhodes would be an awesome stable and I just don't understand why WWE is taking so long to set it up

Orton and Batista both hold similar routes, and have held similar titles. It's pretty damn close but I'd say Batista is.

Batista is the bigger name by far.

But I think Orton will win it due to an interferance (despite me choosing that Batista will win in the tipsters, lol)

We'll see one of three things tonight IMO...

Batista coming damn close to win with Legacy getting involved and decimating Batista.

Orton getting the clean win cementing him as a top heel.

Batista going heel.

None of those three things happened actually. Though I was expecting the same. This was one of the best matches i have seen Batista in in a long time. I give it **** as I was quite impressed.

Orton will be the bigger star in 2009, though I hope Batista can compete with him for that title.

^ I wouldn't quite give the match 4 stars, but it was better than I expected. I think the only reason Batista won is to set up momentum goin into Cena v Batista at Wm25, but ORton will still be the bigger star in 2009.

Pissed. BIG TIME!

Pretty good match, BUT:

4 years in the making etc.; this match should have been shown to mean so much more.

Batista get's 3 back to back PPV wins over HHH whilst Randy has been seen to be trying to 'exorcise' the demon of Evolution/HHH ever since (1 serious win in HOW many big matches?)... We finally get to see the 2 face off and Batista get's a pretty convincing clean victory (or the guy many believe to be THE main man in the company)????

Surely Orton's character would have won that match at any costs? ...However 'dirty' the victory?

IMO they really crapped on Orton with this one (Especially if it's simply to give Batista a bit of momentum for a title clash win Cena.). It makes it look like Orton NEEDS Rhodes and co. rather than him simply using them for his own ends.

Why are people so confident on Batista vs. Cena happening at WrestleMania 25? I'd rather see Batista win the Royal Rumble and go on to face Triple H (the wwe champion) at WrestleMania.

I agree, they could have done a lot more. But it isn't over, they should let Batista and Orton have an interesting feud with the climax coming in the Royal Rumble match, when Batista eliminates Randy Orton.

In my mind it is.... I wanted to see who was, in kayfaybe terms, the better man. WWE told me last night that it was Batista. End of.

So you're saying:

*Batista > Orton @ Armageddon.
*Random bickering and run-ins between the two (and prob Priceless) for a months worth of Raw.
*Batista elminates Orton @ RR.

(I know you're only speculating, but I don't expect much more from this either.)

...Wow, that's some pay-off for, like Cena/Batista, one of the few big matches WE had available to them. : P

To have them beefing about something else 6 months or a year later down the line (title or no title) is a whole different story being told.

Same as Cena/Batista being mooted for WM... It really isn't 'enough' to create a big match vibe to be just slinging them together a month before and expect people to give a shit just because they have faced before only this time [drumroll please]... THE TITLE'S ON THE LINE :gasp:

Don't get me wrong, multi-match fueds are fine, but they really only hold the interest when a result of a bonafide ACTUAL fued (see HBK/Jericho this year)... Y'know the kind of thing where the guys have issues at stake... The kind of fued where you sense the guys would face off every night if they could.

I enjoyed the match, TBH thought it was a really good match. But i personally would have liked to see Orton go over. IMO Orton need the extra push more than Tista. Id have liked to see the vicious dont give a fuck how i win but i gotta win Orton. Rather than big Dave winning. And id liked to see Orton/Tista feud simmer and go on a bit longer. But if its going to be Tista/Cena @ WM then that isn't going to happen. Anyway my point is Orton shud have got the win even if it was by DQ or Something.
