... actually just finished tonight's Nitro and NEVER MIND LOL.

Just after I'm saying how Harlem Heat need better opposition they drop the straps right away to the American Losers. How depressing it is to see Booker T driving the crowd wild with his offence and then jobbing by Colonel Parker interference. Guess the Stud Stable feud is refusing to die. American Males aren't worthy champs, Riggs is a lower carder for life and Marcus Bagwell has no future.

Speaking of braindead booking decisions, Johnny B. Badd is the new US Title contender and here he is, laying down for Paul Orndorff, who moves like a man twice his age (which is about 100 or something). The TV psychic guy thing supposedly inspired him to pretend it's 1986 and he's a draw again.

Flair and Pillman, finally some good wrestling, which is why in this damn company it only gets five minutes. I think that's the first time Flair's hit a top rope move in a decade.

Other than that, all the main eventers standing around wondering where Hogan is because he's the only guy that matters apparently. While Sting vs. Lord Regal (now THAT is a WCW match!) is on this week's Saturday Night which they're viewing as less than, clearly, because it's not live. And while we're on the subject of relics of the past, did Bischoff say next week there's going to be a disco wrestler? That's never getting over.

Not much at all, Kid beat Razor and Owen & Yoko beat MoM...

Shane Douglas also has this schoolteacher gimmick going on, good god.

I know I haven't seen this week's WWF but last week they had this guy painted up in golden drag and doing old movie quotes... looks nothing like Dustin but the sheets say it's him

Shit's been rough, I haven't been able to focus on wrestling the past couple of weeks, but I'm all caught up and there's another Nitro tonght which should be nice.

Last couple of Nitros, have been very hit and miss. I get that Kurasawa is trying to do the Young Lion midcard threat thing but it's not working out. Disco guy immediately got wrecked by Alex Wright which is surely an AMAZING sign. Wright's a better dancer and wrestler already. This Zodiac thing is a complete load of turd and they're trying to make Macho Man lower his level to meet Ed Leslie's. Meng finally gets to use that Golden Spike because of course meathead Luger can't possibly lose any other way. Wonder why he never pulled it out for Hogan?

Week after that, we've got a WAY better show. The "Luger must leave WCW" stip was absolutely not believable but he and Savage put on a decent match. Malenko vs. Guerrero was a good first Nitro for both lightweights but it was gimped for no reason, you don't look at a pair of technical wizards like that and only give them five minutes. ECW would have given them time. (Speaking of ECW, I hear Steve Austin's quit the company and doing some fun pissed-off ex-employee stuff over there...) Also I love the disco moron looking like a joke as Guerrero scares him off. The beatdown to Hogan was goofy but it got Giant over, and I'm hoping against hope that the Non-Consensual Shave gives Hogan a bit of character development. Flair/Arn they must have botched, Arn tapped too early or something, I get the feeling it was supposed to be Pillman screwing Flair proper. Oh well.

At least these two get a CAGE MATCH tonight, and Sting vs. whatever Earthquake's name is this week. Hopefully they don't cock up Sabu like they did a few weeks before.

Okay I just looked up what they've got going on. Bret's not even working Diesel, he's slumming it with the pirate! They've got Bulldog vs. Diesel in the running which should be decent powerhouse stuff but nothing more

(October 14, 1995)

Caught up with RAW last night after just having seen Nitro for a bit. WWF's obviously pretty scared by WCW offering relatively big name matches if they're putting that six-man on free TV. Feels like what they'd put on one of those In Your Houses they're doing were it not for the competition. Fatu somehow has a lamer gimmick than if he were staying a Headshrinker in 1995. Skip is wasted as a jobber, he can actually wrestle but because he's neither tall nor fat WWF ain't interested. And since they've got Bill Watts in doing creative now, things ain't looking good...

Nitro felt haphazard, they tried to cram everything in. Tenta is the Shark now and he looks silly as he dies to Sting. Sabu actually gets some shine on him but Mr. JL looks like a fine worker, just needs a gimmick that doesn't suck. Hawk should have been counted the winner of his match, just for beating the shit out of that disco moron. Hogan in black looks so wrong, he's trying to be all edgy and Nineties but he's still the same relic of the past. Flair/Arn in a cage only got four minutes which is a huge waste.
