Live Royal Rumble Discussion Thread - Saturday January 27th 2024

Sky

TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION
I just checked and this is the first time they could actually fill the women's Rumble completely with main roster women

Discounting the current singles champions (Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky), these women are on the WWE main roster full-time and are likely to be available for the Rumble (i.e. not injured):
  1. Alba Fyre
  2. Asuka
  3. B-Fab
  4. Bayley
  5. Becky Lynch
  6. Bianca Belair
  7. Candice LeRae
  8. Chelsea Green
  9. Dakota Kai
  10. Indi Hartwell
  11. Isla Dawn
  12. Ivy Nile
  13. Kairi Sane
  14. Katana Chance
  15. Kayden Carter
  16. Maxxine Dupri
  17. Mia Yim
  18. Natalya
  19. Nia Jax
  20. Nikki Cross
  21. Piper Niven
  22. Raquel Rodriguez
  23. Scarlett
  24. Shayna Baszler
  25. Shotzi
  26. Tamina
  27. Tegan Nox
  28. Valhalla
  29. Xia Li
  30. Zelina Vega
  31. Zoey Stark
But of course some of those will probably be bumped (Valhalla and Scarlett are just managers, and why is B-Fab on the main roster still anyway?) which opens up room for surprises. Who do you think?

Feel as though a good 5 or 6 at least on that list won't make it. Gotta leave room for a couple of NXT standouts then maybe one or two returns / surprises.

Rhea or Iyo one will probs be defending too so that takes out at least one more for a challenger. I doubt both defend since this PPV will probs have like 5 matches total but who knows

No I think both Women's World Champions defend their titles especially if you have the World Heavyweight and WWE Undisputed Universal Championship being defended. So I would argue if both Men's World titles should be defended, then both Women's World titles should also be defended for that reason

I think given Rhea is defending on Raw against Ivy, she'll probably be the one to not defend.

Nia vs Rhea at Rumble or at the Chamber PPV in Rhea's home country of Australia I would not mind

When Nia was first brought back I assumed it was to give Rhea a nice win but now that she's already feuding with Becky I wouldn't put her over Becky to do it

She might win a #1 contenders match after losing to Becky because she would at least be an easy feed to a face Rhea in Australia.

Tiffy Time
Would expect some NXT girls like Tiffany, Cora, Roxanne to get a showing. Maybe Mickie as a surprise guest. You'd think Cargill debuts as well. Then there's the laughable rumour of Mercedes returning hahahaha

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles vs. LA Knight — Fatal 4-Way Match)

At Royal Rumble, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will put his title on the line against Randy Orton, AJ Styles and LA Knight in a Fatal 4-Way Match.

Inially, Knight, Styles and Orton battled in a Triple Threat Match to earn the right battle Reigns one-on-one at Royal Rumble. When The Bloodline got involved in that matchup in an attempt to dismantle the competition, however, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis determined that a Fatal 4-Way Match was the only way to settle the matter.

All three of Reigns' challengers have a legitimate grudge to settle with the historic titleholder. The Bloodline injured The Viper with a savage attack that caused him to miss a year-and-a-half of action. They also put Styles out for nearly three months. And Knight came up just short in his bid to dethrone The Tribal Chief at WWE Crown Jewel thanks to interference from The Bloodline.

Can Reigns overcome the odds and walk out of the PLE to continue his historic reign on The Road to WrestleMania? Or will one of his challengers finally take the gold from the leader of The Bloodline?

United States Champion Logan Paul vs. Kevin Owens

At Royal Rumble, United States Champion Logan Paul will defend his title for the first time against former U.S. Champion Kevin Owens.

KO emerged victorious from the U.S. Title Tournament, defeating Austin Theory, Carmelo Hayes and finally Santos Escobar to claim the tournament victory.

Soon after his fight against Escobar, Owens was confronted by The Social Media Megastar, and he responded by knocking out Paul with his cast.

Despite competing with a cast the past few weeks, KO has not been deterred, and he’s seeking to become United States Champion for the fourth time. Even with his championship pedigree, Owens has not hold singles gold since 2017.

Paul has been flying high since defeating Rey Mysterio to become U.S. Champion at WWE Crown Jewel, gallivanting around with his title and drawing the ire of many.

Paul and Owens share some history, as The Social Media Megastar was in the corner of Sami Zayn, who Owens defeated at WrestleMania 37. After that match, KO hit Paul with a Stunner.

That encounter was three years ago, and much has changed since then, with Paul becoming a much more dangerous competitor.

Can KO use his momentum from the U.S. Title Tournament to capture singles gold once more?

Definitely hope Roman loses his title in the Fatal 4 Way and it is Rock who costs him the title
