You've now used activity as a reason to suspect two players that have good scum range and no history of completely no showing as scum.

The poyser town read is bad because it completely reduces his scum range.

The read on me is bad A) because it takes a one game sample and turns it into a linear argument of me being a scum lean because I've not posted as much as I did in that game and B) because you bring sky into it for no reason other than to try and lead her into the read so that you can abstain responsibility.

I'm going to assume you're just scum here unless this was simply a spite read for getting you D1'd last game.

I'll reserve my vote since I haven read more than a handful of posts this game and would rather try and do that first

Wouldn't that just increase the chances of Mafia winning from there? If you're lynching me it would be because you want to rule out me possibly faking this - today would be the optimal day to do that, not Day 4.

The point as town is pretty simple - she saw somebody make a point about his opening post length and was curious about whether it did mean anything so she went to check. She obviously can’t control the fact that it ended up irrelevant - the fact that she went to check and went so far back shows genuine curiosity/eagerness to solve the slot

there’s no need to do it as scum because you can just fake an opinion and twist it any way you want lol

In fact I don’t like this post at all. I’d be fine if you called it NAI - whether I’m right is debatable, but I don’t see how it can be construed as a bad look in any way. It’s like you’re accusing her of KNOWING it’s irrelevant before she checks.

Hang on, I’ve been liking your responses to Ekko so far but this post is so strange. You’ve clearly been implying that he’s scummy? Or what was the point you were trying to make about him deciding you were his lynch and scrambling to think of reasons?

you think he’s scummy (according to your last post) so why is what he thinks of your alignment important at all? If he’s scum then ofc he’s going to try and make you look bad. This post reads like you’re trying to outmanoeuvre him rather than solve him

Poyser read up. I read a bit of this before I fell asleep last night, so I'm not certain how long it'll be until I see more on PoyPoy. IIRC I had him as a town lead, so I don't think this does anything for me other than seeing the progression of his thoughts throughout the read up.

The point on Cake being town offers me little because realistically anybody could have gone through and speculated on most word count in my intros. I think there's also a point to be made that those were years ago and now I'm more comfortable in how I present myself in an opener.

I think for a read-up, this part is fine. It doesn't influence my thoughts on him at all, I'm going to wait until I actively get into the discussions before painting that fence.

Scared? No. It is possible to not want to be lynched as town as well as scum.

I think it was evident to me that Ekko was trying to slip me up and even if I think he’s scum, so? Say he is successful and I do accidentally make a mistake (which town players can do because bad play does not ALWAYS mean scum) and then I get jumped on by everyone else? I can’t be aware of that? Just because I think Ekko is spouting tripe doesn’t mean that everyone else will, does it? He did those things as a guise to “getting me involved” when he was the only person really saying that I wasn’t by taking issue with a post no one else seems to have a problem with.

Then as soon as I’d pushed back on him enough and disproved most of what he was saying because players such as Sky and Evans were disagreeing with him, he actually backed down because he knew he wasn’t going to get anywhere.

The reason he needed to try and put me in the positions where I could trip up is because he didn’t have enough basis in the first place and he needed to justify himself.

It’s not news that this is how I play. I take time to consider things and I am careful with my votes. This is how I have played near every game I’ve played here and in other places since I developed my meta over on WC. I have spent most of the games here defending myself because people will still use my play style as a reason to go after me even if there’s nothing wrong with what I’ve said. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with explaining a read - even if it is null - and Ekko using that as a basis to go for me was weak.

And of course I was implying that his play was scummy, but he was acting like I was ranting and raving about it and calling him scummy like he was to me. I never actually called him scummy at that point in the game.

It’s the weekend so I’m busy with family today. Will be back this evening.

I actually love this post from Mando. It gives me a good look into his mindset and it allows me to push him on my town ladder. I do agree explaining any thoughts you have is pivotal to figuring out this game. I'd rather see an explanation about why someone may think Player A is null rather than just a sentence. Mad ironic coming from me, who is known for explaining things greatly.

agree about him saying blaine/barry isn't w/w too. that interaction is too awkward

I'm chalking this up to me being awkward in general when it comes to interacting with folk.

I dont have a vivid memory but what I do remember is he kinda blends into the background and just chimes in from time to time. What I do remember tho is that the posts he does make are usually solid as either alignment. Not sure I've seen too much of a contrast between his play as alignments, but what I noticed here is the posts he was making were pretty much all window dressing. I didn't really like him asking what a ML was as it seems fairly obvious in context when you've played mafia before, but it just struck me as "here's an easy post i can make" ditto his observation about blaine "jumping in early" but when asked to expand he didn't really take any opportunity to ponder what it would mean for blaine's alignment, just that he posted more words than usual. Didn't really seem like he wanted to get involved in game solve talk, and all of his posts were either not game related or just casual observations and I expect more insight from him

I do also like this from Poyser. Talking about player's meta has always kinda just bored me, however I think PoyPoy's taking this to an advantage on offering a thought on Wang, one in which I currently lack.

My issue was never really with the data. It's that someone views the data and assumes you must be town. Because clearly no scum member could go to such strenuous effort
