Is Montell Vontavious Porter, half man, half amazing, the highest paid man in Smackdown history, is he ready for the main event? Is he ready to challenge the likes of Edge, Batista, Undertaker, HHH, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Shawn Michaels in serious World Title contention? I personally, would like to see him wait a bit longer as I feel a slow build is better than a fast push. That's not to be said that it cant work, but lets be honest, MVP isn't over like Brock and Goldberg were. But what do you think?

He simply isn't over. Just listen to the VIP Lounge on Smackdown this week - no crowd reaction at all hardly. He is an okay worker, not exactly exciting in that department either though. I think the gimmick is good, but somethign just isn't clicking atm

he would be a good main eventer for smackdown but if he goes to raw, yes, hes going to have to go through the top main eventers on there like triple h, randy orton, john cena, shawn michaels, etc

he can be a main eventer for smackdown if the writers put him in good storylines with edge, batista, undertaker, etc...
that could be his chance

^^^How was he not over? I heard a ton of boos, even before Vickie came out... They were booing him from the start, and actually I could hear the boos pretty loudly.

Anyways, I think he's ready now... If they keep staaling, they will ruin it. But hes been in WWE for almost 2 years now, and had some great feud, proven hes awesome on the mic, and pretty good in the ring as well... I dont see whats holding him back though.

But, he cant main event on raw. For two reasons.. Firstly, i just cant picture him beating HHH, Cena and Orton, and I also think the writers wouldnt push him to beat them, so he would flop.
But on Smackdown, he could main event with guys like Edge, Hardy, Kane and Batista and eventually CM Punk. And that would prove him as a main eventer, ad allow him to move to Raw to feud with bigger main eventers...

So ya, I think he can mian event, just not on Raw yet.

Maybe I didn't have my volume turned up then. He did get boos granted (albeit not very loud ones if you really think about it), but NOTHING compared to the abuse Vickie got. She's made it as a top heel somehow, MVP hasn't yet. Just my opinion. I like him personally, but there's nothing exciting about him. He needs to show me more. Kennedy has stepped up to the plate since his face turn, MVP needs to do the same, but as a heel

I would love to see MVP in the Main Event picture. But he should have a slow build up cause a fast one is never good. (Example: Brock Lesnar & Bobby Lashley)

Ya, but Vickie gets more heat thean ANYONE in wwe. And the reason is, its "get the fuck off my tv heat" which is the loudest...
But ya, he needs more heat, and I think he will, but he needs to get in some meaningful feud like he had with Hardy in order to get that heat... Hes not far off though, they need to book him right.

I think he is over, but he's not, as Scott Hall would say "over like Rover". That was for the likes of Austin, Rock, Cena, and Goldberg. All of the guys in the ME scene are still more over than he is which is why I think its premature for him. I wouldnt mind seeing him work a feud with Cena or HBK or something, but not just get a title push.

Fair point lol. I always struggle to decipher whether that was behind Regal's heat as GM, or whether it was genuine heel heat. I would like to think the latter :)

Id say wait i bit longer a slow build is deffo better than a fast push. But saying That he could more than hang with the top main eventers on smack down. He could even go to ECW and become ECW champ on there for awhile and go up against raw talent seen as ECW is going to to get taped with raw that will get him a foot in the door with the big guns like HBK, HHH, Cena that would get him some major heel heat going up against the biggest Faces on Raw if they are still all there after the Draft.

He would look good with the Bling WWE title but he's not ready yet imo. This is why the WWE have blown it with their midcard titles that don't mean much - as US Champion, theoretically MVp should have got over, but the title means little and wasn't booked properly, same for the IC Title. In fact, same for most titles except the main 2 unfortunately

MVP is a crazy heel but he needs to get more heat and a new finisher the playmaker sucks imo.

^ wtf, make up your mind!

and I think MVP would have been better for the main event round about when he lost the U.S title to Matt Hardy, he had way more heat then and after he lost that he has been in no major fueds (like CM Punk and Mr Kennedy). I think he is ready for a really big fued and having that fued with Batista would be great because alot of people like Batista so they would hate MVP, he could also get drafted somewhere to have some big fueds or fued with the guys that are dratfed to smackdown!
