WCW Rules Presents: The Last Word in World Wrestling Entertainment

For World Wrestling Entertainment, Summerslam '07 was a turning point for the company; for the first time in 16 years, Summerslam broke 2.0 in buyrates, reinforcing the superiority of the current WWE product. It was also a time of significant change to the product; heel factions like the Destined Ones and the Ministry of Darkness dominated the latter part of 2007, and due to the absence of Batista on Smackdown, several stars like Lashley and Dreamer were pushed to accomodate the hole in the roster. Gimmick matches were beginning to become more prevelant on PPV, and the Women's Division was becoming a far more significant and integral part of the product. (Unlike you other chauvinistic pigs..) After Summerslam, McMahon disappeared from television, only appearing sporadically. Several stars came back from injury, including Triple H and Rey Mysterio Jr., while others came back from a sabbatical, like Jericho and JBL. Debuting stars like Teddy Hart, Cody Rhodes, and Daniel Rodimer made some impact on their respective shows, though the road to the top will be long and arduous for them.

One of the biggest surprises, however, took place at Survivor Series; for starters, the Women's Division received their first-ever Survivor Series match, with the sole survivors being Candice Michelle and Mickie James. Perhaps the biggest surprise of all, however, happened during the main event between Team Destined Ones and Team Degeneration X. As HBK was preparing to unleash the Sweet Chin Music upon Shelton Benjamin, a ghost from the past appeared before the stage; Bret "The Hitman" Hart. At that moment, HBK was taken aback; unfortunately for him, Shelton would take advantage of the opportunity and land a Superkick of his own, nailing HBK in the jaw and allowing Orton to put him down once and for all with a devestating RKO. On the following RAW, Hart announced that he was the new General Manager of RAW; the professional wrestling world had now changed...

It is now 2008, or near to it. What will the new year bring for World Wrestling Entertainment? What superstars will make a name for themselves, what superstars will become champions, what champions will become legends, and what legends will become myths? Well, that is for you, the reader, to find out, for I already know all too well what'll occur in the coming months. It is up to you to either accept it, or to refute it, but either way, things will come to fruition that'll shake up the professional wrestling world for years to come. It is time... time for the Last Word in World Wrestling Entertainment; now can you dig that, sucka?!

I'm new here to IWF; I've just recently discovered this forum not too long ago. I'm not finished yet; I just wanted to post the gist of the Rosters and whatnot, but I still have to recap everything from Summerslam to Armageddon. Remember though, everything posted is current, so what you may see in the results may not coincide with what's presented above. It'll make sense in the long run, however. Results for Summerslam up to Armageddon will be posted tommorow, at the latest.

I decided to post the results in two parts; this is Part One, entailing Summerslam '07 to No Mercy '07. Mind you, I'm only recapping the latter part of 2007; my shows will be full after Part Deux is posted tommorow. Thanks for the comments; I appreciate them.

~Full RAW Results; 7/30/07 - 8/20/07~
8/6/07: RAW opened with a Carlito's Cabana; the guest? None other than the Legend Killer, Randy Orton. Throughout the Cabana, Orton proclaimed that he'd defeat John Cena at Summerslam, and that Cena was far too trusting for his own good. Carlito added his own comments, not about Cena though. He focused on Ric Flair's career and the career of that of his opponent at Summerslam, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Orton was disturbed by Carlito's lack of attention, and so decidedly hammered him with an RKO! With Carlito down for the count, Orton faced the stage and closed with a, "Cena, at Summerslam, I will end the legend that is Cena's reign!" Afterwards, RAW GM Jonathan Coachman commissioned a match between Carlito and Randy Orton for the main event.

Our first match had JTG of Cryme Tyme face off against Harry Smith of the Hart Foundation. Due to last week's incident, Smith took no prisoners and pummeled JTG throughout the match, but an opportunistic JTG took advantage of a mishap and managed to roll Smith up for the pin. Surprised, Smith began a tantrum, but at the behest of his partner, TJ Wilson, he calmed down. Smackdown superstar Kennedy made his presence known on RAW, interfering in a match between Edge and CM Punk. Declaring himself the better of the three, Edge proceeded to spear the loudmouth, but Punk pummeled the Rated R Superstar with a kick to the head before he could reach Kennedy. Nonetheless, Punk and Kennedy had a brief staredown before Jeff Hardy's music blared off the speakers! The Rainbow-Haired Warrior made his way into the ring and stood face to face with Mr. Money in the Bank, Mr. Kennedy, and the Straight Edge Superstar, CM Punk. Edge took the microphone and demanded some compensation for Kennedy's interference. On WWE.com, another blockbuster match was announced for Summerslam; a Fatal Four Way for the Money in the Bank contract, consisting of Edge, CM Punk, Jeff Hardy, and Mr. Kennedy!

Due to Melina defeating Brooke Adams last week in a Number One Contender's match for the Women's Championship, Melina challenged Candice Michelle for the Women's Championship. The match ended prematurely when Victoria interrupted and clotheslined Candice Michelle! Melina and Victoria ganged up on the Women's Champion, and nearly injured her in the process. Victoria betrayed Melina, however, and knocked her out with a Widow's Peak, doing the same to Candice not too long after. She then grabbed the Women's Championship and stared at it, admiring it. This'd ignite a match between the three for the Women's Championship at Summerslam.

Per last week's announcement, Jonathan Coachman faced Rob Van Dam in a match. Of course, due to Jonathan Coachman's inexperience, Rob Van Dam made quick work of Coachman. McMahon appeared to congratulate Van Dam on his victory, but the Chairman's apparent dislike of RVD prevented such an extreme (no pun intended) measure. Instead, McMahon issued another match for Rob Van Dam, this time, it would be against the Intercontinental Champion, Umaga! Umaga rushed into the ring and once the bell rang, immediately pummeled the former unexpecting ECW Champion with a Samoan Spike! For our Main Event, Randy Orton faced Carlito in a solid match. During the match, the WWE Champion, John Cena, made an appearance. Orton, briefly distracted by Cena's presence, fell to Carlito's backstabber, and after a 1-2-3, lost the match! Carlito exacted revenge for earlier, but it was Cena who came out the beneficiary. To close RAW on a good note, Cena laid out Orton with an FU!

8/13/07: Vince McMahon opened RAW, proclaiming that come Summerslam, Rob Van Dam and the memory of ECW will be crushed and no more than yore. His proclaimation, however, was interrupted by the Whole Damn Show himself, Rob Van Dam. Van Dam had a proposition for McMahon, one that Vince regarded in glee. Van Dam offered to put his career on the line at Summerslam, in a Career Threatening match, added to the No Holds Barred stipulation, in exchange for the defunct ECW Championship. Ecstatic, Vince accepted Van Dam's proposition in the form of a vicious Samoan Spike by Umaga from behind! The laughing Chairman assured RVD of the consequences of his offer, and at Summerslam, it'll come full circle!

Shad Gaspard took on TJ Wilson of the Hart Foundation. Wilson managed to defeat Gaspard, but the brothas from da hood didn't falter after one loss; unashamed, they blatantly sold the items they stole from the Hart Foundation two weeks ago to the audience members, and the peeps were eating it up like cake. Wilson and Smith tried to stop Cryme Tyme, and Smith went so far as to attempt to purchase his own Canadian cloth, but an audience member won the auction at 120 dollars, whereas Smith was offering 60 dollars. It was humiliating as the Hart Foundation watched Cryme Tyme walk off with cash, at the expense of their own integrity... Carlito was placed in a match against his former valet, Torrie Wilson. In the beginning of the match, Carlito tried to persuade Wilson into letting him get the pinfall, but after a slap from her, he inflicted his own brand of justice and knocked her out with a Backstabber. One pin later, Carlito tried to contain his triumph, but couldn't. Carlito tried to check up on Torrie, but Flair came out and chased the Caribbean superstar away. The two men looked eachother dead in the eye as RAW went to a commercial..

Randy Orton boasted about how he defeated Edge to become Number One Contender and how he injured HBK just weeks prior. The Legend Killer continued to brag about how he injured Triple H at New Years Revolution as well. Humility was clearly nonexistent within Orton's persona. Fear, however, started to consume him as the words of a song, "Here comes the King... the King of Kings," blared off the sound system. Orton knew that his first order of business was becoming WWE Champion at Summerslam; taking care of Triple H upon return, however, was just another priority for the Legend Killer to consider.

Our Main Event had Santino Marella face WWE Champion, John Cena. Before the match, Santino insulted John Cena for last week's attack on Orton. As the Italian superstar prolonged his foolishness, Cena drilled him in brief with a right hand, followed by the infamous five moves of doom! Once the bell had taken its toll, Cena had already lifted Santino up for an FU, and bah gawd, what an FU it was! Santino oversold the manuever and Cena had the STFU locked on, forcing the former a-Intecontinental a-Champion to a-tap a-out! The crowd was ablaze with cheers as Cena gestured to Santino, "You can't see me," if only to further humiliate him. Orton appeared not too long after and as the two rivals confronted eachother in the ring, Santino regained his footing and tried to hit Cena, but RKO! Orton knocked Santino senseless with an RKO, rendering him immobile for the time being. The crowd traded chants of, "Cena!" and "Orton!" RAW closed as Cena stared at the fallen Santino while Orton made eye contact with the WWE Championship....

8/20/07: The 3 Hour RAW Summer Special opened with a "Wooo!" Ric Flair had a few choice words for Carlito, his former protege. Much like his speech on the 7/30 edition of RAW, Flair lambasted Carlito for being lazy, expecting gold to grow out of his own ass, and so forth. One of the biggest surprises of the night came in the form of Flair bringing in Carlito's father, Carlos Colon, to reason with his son. Carlito, undeterred in his disrespect for Flair, backstabbed his own father and laid him out on the mat with a Backstabber! Flair was quite shocked, but the Caribbean superstar expressed no shame or regret in what he had done to his father. Carlito and Flair became embroiled in an argument, but as the blood boiled, Carlito struck his former mentor! Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat came out for the save, chasing Carlito out of the ring. As Flair and Steamboat stood in the ring, aiding Carlito's fallen father, the second generation superstar took a bite out of an apple and grinned..

The Women's Champion, Candice Michelle, oversaw a match between her two Summerslam opponents, Victoria and Melina. Victoria defeated Melina in a decent Women's match, but the fun for Victoria did not stop there. Once Candice entered the ring, Victoria damn near took her head off with a clothesline! Once again, Melina and Candice were unconscious while Victoria made out (indeed!) with the Women's Championship, kissing it and treating it as if it were the man of her dreams. What an insane woman... Vince McMahon came out into the ring and held a eulogy for Extreme Championship Wrestling. Shane O' Mac, Umaga, and Estrada were participants, each holding a former ECW title. First, the ECW Tag Team Championships held by Umaga and Estrada were tossed into a garbage bin; the ECW Television Championship was tossed in the bin by Shane. Finally, 'ol Vinnie Mac had the ECW Championship, and he tossed it into the bin. Discontent, the Chairman poured oil in the bin and proceeded to burn the Championships with fire, but Rob Van Dam rushed into the ring and pummeled Vince with a chair to the face! Umaga roared, but Van Dam protected the ECW titles and threw a chair at Umaga, making him stagger. Van Dam knew that at Summerslam, all bets were off.

Before the Main Event, Kennedy took on Jeff Hardy; Jeff had a personal vendetta against the Smackdown superstar, going back as far as Wrestlemania 23. The match was quite solid, but Mr. Money in the Bank came out on top after a Kenton Bomb. Afterwards, Edge came out and speared Kennedy for the second time in a week! For now, the Rated R Superstar had the momentum going into the match on Sunday. A montage of interviews were shown during the 3 Hour RAW Summer Special, all entailing the illustrious, but infamous, tale of the Bured Alive match. Mick Foley, Shane O' Mac, and Kane offered their opinions on the repurcussions of such a match.. A brief video package of the intense feud between Undertaker and Batista followed suit, and quite appropriately.

On the 3 Hour RAW spectacle before Summerslam, Orton and Cena were scheduled to team together in a Tag Team match against Batista and his opponent at Summerslam, The Undertaker. Unfortunately for Cena, Orton no-showed and allowed Cena to be dominated by Batista and The Undertaker for most of the match. However, as the match was beginning to climax, Orton appeared out of nowhere and, surprisingly, aided Cena by unleashing an RKO on his former enemy, The Undertaker. The match would end in disqualification, however, due to the Ministry interfering. Cena and Orton held off the Ministry while Batista dealt with The Undertaker. After the match, Cena walked up to Orton and reached out his hand, but Orton shrugged it off and left, pointing at Cena as he left that he just did "what he had to do." Cena, appreciative of Orton's help, gave him a salute as he left, but Orton smirked as RAW came to an end...

~Full Smackdown Results; 8/3/07 - 8/24/07~
8/3/07: Opening the show for the evening was Smackdown's own Mr. Money in the Bank, Mr. Kennedy..... Kennedy! The impudent superstar boasted about his retaining of the United States Championship against MVP at The Great American Bash. Exalting himself over The Undertaker due to possessing the Money in the Bank contract, Kennedy proclaimed that he had defeated the best that Smackdown had to offer, and proposed to depart the show if he was not supplied competition. King Booker disrupted Kennedy's indulgence with a demand, a demand for the United States Championship. Kennedy initially refused, but once Lashley became involved, Kennedy refuted his earlier statement and decided to defend the United States Championship. After a brief quarrel among the three men, Batista appeared and tried to straighten them out. His words fell on deaf ears, but once darkness shrouded the arena and lightning struck, King Booker's wife, Sharmell, was gone! From the titantron, The Undertaker told Booker a startling revelation; he wanted to meet him in a First Blood match next week on Smackdown, and in exchange for Booker's blood, Sharmell would be released from harm...

For our first match, Shannon Moore of the Ministry defended the Cruiserweight Championship against Matt Hardy. A rather short match, Hardy went over by disqualification; Kevin Thorn, one of Moore's allies, interfered and nailed Hardy in the head with one of the WWE Tag Team Championships. This'd ignite a feud later on. Once the match came to a close, Rebecca interviewed Mr. Money in the Bank, Kennedy! She asked him about defending the United States Championship in a Triple Threat up next, but the brash and bold superstar merely told her, "Judging from months pass, I know I will come out United States Champion." The second match had Mr. Kennedy defend the United States Championship in a Triple Threat against the monarch of champions, King Booker, and the force of nature, Bobby Lashley. In the MOTN, Kennedy once again continued his undefeated streak and retained the United States Championship, pinning Booker after a Spear from Lashley. After the match, Kennedy proposed to find fresh competition on RAW.

Our third match had Kane face a returning Rey Mysterio! Being out for months due to an injury, Rey had the momentum coming in, and one 619 later, Rey defeated Kane to keep it going. Being a sore loser, Kane lashed out against Rey. Bobby Lashley, standing up for the little guy, appeared from the stage and speared the Big Red Monster for what he did to him prior to the Great American Bash! On WWE.com, it'd be announced that the two titans would face at Summerslam. The Main Event for the evening was a Falls Count Anywhere match between Kevin Thorn of the Ministry and Batista. Should Batista win, he'd earn himself another shot at The Undertaker's Championship. Kane and Moore interfered on Thorn's behalf, but the Animal persevered and managed to defeat him following a thunderous Spinebuster. The closing shot of Smackdown entailed Batista pointing to a Summerslam banner above...

8/10/07: King Booker opened Smackdown with an address directed at The Undertaker, the man who had kidnapped his wife, Sharmell, last week. Immediately, he abandoned the King Booker persona and began talking smack about his opponent for the night, closing with a "Can you dig that, sucka?!" The fans cheered for the new Booker, but his return to prominence was all too brief, as The Undertaker's cohorts, Burchill and Thorn, disrupted the stream of his calling with a vicious beatdown. Batista came out for the save and cleaned house, but Booker did not accept The Animal's help so hastily...

MVP returned to action on Smackdown after his loss at The Great American Bash to Kennedy; he defeated Jamie Noble in a rather quick squash. Once the match was over, MVP began telling the fans that they had betrayed him, that they had devalued him in comparison to Mr. Kennedy, as if the fans were ever behind him in the first place. MVP disliked the fact that he was not booked in a match at Summerslam. He then stated that he'd let his presence be known at the Biggest Party of the Summer.. whatever that meant. Batista and Bobby Lashley were placed in a Handicap match against Burchill, Thorn, and Kane. Batista pinned Burchill following a Spinebuster for the victory, but the Ministry made no effort to be fair, beating down upon the Animal and his partner. Soon thereafter, Rey and Matt Hardy intervened on Batista and Lashley's behalf.

Booker faced The Undertaker in a First Blood match for the Main Event, but as soon as the bell rang, he made no effort to fight back. Booker let himself become defaced as The Undertaker humiliated him; in ten minutes, Booker's blood stained the entire ring, with The Undertaker expressing no mercy or remorse. After the bell rung, The Undertaker finished Booker off with a Tombstone Piledriver. Soon afterwards, The Ministry appeared on their leader's behalf and began adding insult to injury, overwhelming Booker. The calvary came to Booker's aid, however, in the form of Batista, Matt Hardy, Rey Mysterio, and Bobby Lashley. Smackdown closed with Batista and The Undertaker trading stares from afar as Sharmell lumped over her fallen husband...

8/17/07: The Animal, Batista, opened Smackdown with a match against Shannon Moore. Batista defeated Moore in little more than a squash; the Cruiserweight Champion barely made any efforts to drill the offense on Batista, so the match left a lot to be desired. CM Punk made an appearance on Smackdown, scouting Kennedy during his match against Robert Anthony. Once Kennedy made the pin, Punk rushed into the ring and confronted him, but Kennedy immediately hammered Punk with a right hand, and clotheslined him out of the ring. Unbeknownst to Kennedy, Edge speared him once he turned around!

Coming back from a brief injury, Paul Burchill made his in-ring return, defeating William Regal in a tight contest. Afterwards, Burchill made a few comments about Mysterio's return from injury, negative ones at that. The luchadore from the 619 didn't take kindly to the comments and appeared from the stage. Rey entered the ring and had a brief talk with Burchill before receiving a bitch slap from The Reaper himself. Burchill and Mysterio made no efforts to contain their anger and within moments, both men were fighting eachother inside the ring. Kevin Thorn came down to aid his partner, but he was stopped dead in his tracks by the man who just won't fucking die, Matt Hardy! Nonetheless, Burchill dominated Mysterio while Hardy chased Thorn out of the ring and into the lockeroom area! Taking advantage of being alone for the time being, Burchill bloodied Mysterio with a chair shot to the head, followed by a Grasp of the Reaper, his submission finisher. Not too long after, Burchill hoisted an injured Rey atop his shoulders and left the arena; what the hell could he have been thinking?

Booker T made an appearance on Smackdown; as a result of last week's First Blood match, Booker stated he won't be able to make it to Summerslam. Nonetheless, Booker made a public apology to Batista, and graciously thanked The Animal for his help for weeks prior. Booker stated that as a changed man, his first order of business after Summerslam was to take it upon himself to end The Undertaker's reign of terror, that is, if Batista failed at doing so himself at Summerslam. Our final match for the night had ECW Original Stevie Richards face RAW Superstar and Intercontinental Champion, Umaga. Vince personally oversaw the entire match, in which Umaga simply devestated Richards in little less than five minutes. This match was booked more or less to serve McMahon's ego than as a reasonable match to end Smackdown, not to mention to intensify the fued between Rob Van Dam and Vinnie Mac himself. Smackdown, however, would not end with a match, but something else entirely...

Quite possibly one of the most controversial moments in Smackdown history occurred on this night as well; pictures of Batista's father, mother, daughter Keilana and daughter Athena, as well as a wreath were littered upon the mat. A coffin was also present, as well as a headstone and torches of fire. The Undertaker and Kane made their entrance and moments later, a noose was lowered to the ring, but the noose would not be unused for long. An injured Rey Mysterio was brought into the ring by Thorn and Burchill, and The Undertaker wrapped the noose around Mysterio's neck, and promptly hung Batista's friend, suspending him ten feet in the air. The crowd was simply appalled throughout the entire ritual, and per Undertaker's orders, Kane proceeded to burn the pictures of Batista's family with an inferno engulfing them. Another message would be sent to Batista; the camera cut to a boiler room, whereupon Ariel and Moore had Batista's girlfriend, Rebecca DiPietro, tied up and unconscious, with a crucifix burned onto her forehead.

The Undertaker, remorseless and souless, sent Batista an ultimatum: at Summerslam, the two would face in a Buried Alive match for the World Heavyweight Championship; should Batista become one with the soil beneath, he'd never see his beloved girlfriend again and the memories of Batista's family would all be but burned in an eternal pyre....

8/24/07: The final Smackdown before the Biggest Party of the Summer opened on a dark note; with a shovel in hand, The Undertaker glared into the camera with tainted eyes, eyes of malice and malcontent. As a gesture of intimidation, The Undertaker dug a grave marked for Batista, and pierced the camera with his signature white eyes, a sign of impending doom for the Animal. The Undertaker utters one of the most ."Batista, I've never told my opponents what awaits them at the end of the tunnel, once they finally rest in peace. You now have the luxury of knowing what'll come to you; there'll be no heaven or hell for you, only eternal suffering. That is what awaits you; whatever you've read in scripture, or listened to in school, cast it aside and know your true calling. At Summerslam, it's time to put the Animal down once and for all; it's time for you to rest... in... peace." The Undertaker's profound words resonated throughout the entire program...

An interpromotional skirmish consisting of Mr. Kennedy and Edge took place on Smackdown. The Rated R Superstar dominated most of the match, but Kennedy disqualified himself by nailing Edge with the Money in the Bank briefcase! Taking no shit from anybody, Kennedy bashed Edge upside the head with the briefcase, making him bleed. CM Punk took notice of the action from afar, in the lockeroom. Paul Burchill took on Matt Hardy while Kevin Thorn took on Rey Mysterio Jr. on the same night. Burchill defeated Hardy, but Mysterio defeated Thorn. It balanced out the momentum the two teams had going into Summerslam for the WWE Tag Team Championships..

The Main Event for the evening had Batista fighting The Undertaker's brother, Kane. Neither man dominated the match, but near the end, Batista defeated Kane following a Batista Bomb! While the Animal raised his arms in triumph, the arena darkened and the gong tolled, signaling the arrival of the Lord of Darkness. Batista remained firm as druids surrounded the ring, holding torches of fire. Moments later, the lights in the arena flickered and then, The Undertaker! Right in front of Batista's face, stood The Undertaker, as menacing as ever. The Animal and the Lord of Darkness stood toe to toe, face to face, unflinching and unintimidated by eachothers' presence. Smackdown closed as the both of them stood in the ring like sentinels, eyeing eachother with the utmost abhorrence and disdain....

~Full RAW Results; 8/27/07 - 9/17/07 ~
Summerslam initiated a substantially large chain of reactions; Randy Orton became WWE Champion and continued his intense feud with Cena; he became a full fledged heel after bashing Cena's head open with a ring bell after Cena announced he'd validate his rematch clause at Unforgiven. This all occured as Orton was being constantly reminded of Triple H's impending return. Speaking of Triple H's return, Edge dismissed his chase for the Money in the Bank briefcase in order to focus on the return of Triple H, for The Game's return match would be against one of the men who injured him at New Year's Revolution, the Rated R Superstar himself. After Summerslam, Vince disappeared from TV, but his son, Shane, demanded revenge for his father's defeat at the landmark PPV. His grudge with ECW Champion, Rob Van Dam, would come to a close at Unforgiven, and so would Van Dam's problems with the McMahon family...

Carlito defeated Ric Flair's friend, Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat, at Summerslam. The Caribbean superstar was not done with his former mentor, however. Once Flair was cleared to wrestle, Carlito assaulted him and demanded a final match between the two of them at Unforgiven, to settle their scores once and for all. Ric Flair won the right on the RAW before Unforgiven to choose the stipulation of their match by defeating Santino Marella. A Steel Cage match was his choice. The World's Greatest Tag Team, consisting of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, lost the World Tag Team Championships to the Hart Foundation on the RAW after Summerslam. Distraught, Shelton blamed the loss on Charlie. The two would face eachother the next week for a chance at the Intercontinental Champion, Umaga, at Unforgiven. Shelton defeated Haas to earn the right, but Jeff Hardy, dissappointed of himself for losing his match at Summerslam, wanted a chance at the title in order to rebound from his loss at Summerslam. Therefore, both men were named Number One Contenders to the Intercontinental Championship and at Unforgiven, they'd face the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga.

At Summerslam, Kennedy pinned CM Punk to retain the Money in the Bank contract. On RAW the following night, CM Punk made a promise to himself and the fans that he's personally defeat Kennedy one-on-one. The brash loudmouth from Smackdown made an appearance to shut Punk up, but the straight edge superstar ended up making Kennedy go to sleep, giving him momentum. In the weeks leading up to Unforgiven, both men tried to one up eachother of their respective shows, with each man gaining victory after victory on RAW and Smackdown. The time came for the final RAW before Unforgiven and unexpectedly, Kennedy interfered in CM Punk's match against Marcus Cor Von, costing him the victory. Candice Michelle retained the Women's Championship against Melina and Victoria at Summerslam. As Victoria fell of television due to circumstances beyond her control, Melina continued to pursue the Women's Championship. RAW General Manager, Jonathan Coachman, damn near tired of Melina's heckling and so forth, gave her an ultimatum; at Unforgiven, she'd have her last chance to retrieve the Women's Championship in an 'I Quit' match. If she yelled, "I Quit," there'd be no more chances for her as long as Candice holds the title.

Due to Lashley's victory at The Wrestling Classic, he became the new Number One Contender to face The Undertaker at No Mercy. The Undertaker thus gave him a dire warning; to quote the Lord of Darkness, "Kings, animals, and the Devil himself have fallen to the Lord of Darkness... Don't make the same mistake as they did, Lashley, or else you shall suffer the same fate, and you shall endure in the endless abyss that shall bear you hence." Of course, The Undertaker's antiquated drivel didn't intimidate the Number One Contender; as a matter of fact, Lashley reveled in The Undertaker's fear tactics, for they didn't faze him at all. Inspiring fear and bearing courage will not be enough for either man come No Mercy. Kennedy retained the Money in the Bank briefcase at Summerslam, but that wasn't enough to satiate his demand for more competition. Enter the luchadore from the 619, Rey Mysterio. Returning from injury, Rey Mysterio looked disappointment dead in the eye at Summerslam, losing to Burchill and Thorn for the Tag Team Championships. For Kennedy, Mysterio was just another page to be added to his tome of victories, and thus, Kennedy insinuated a United States Championship match between him and Mysterio. Although Mysterio was enthusiastic about challenging for the US Championship, he knew Kennedy's intentions were not what they were cracked up to be...

Once Booker T fell to The Undertaker at The Wrestling Classic, Booker fell into disparity upon not fulfilling his promise to the fans, his friend, Batista, and his wife, Sharmell. Nonetheless, the former Iron Man of WCW had to bounce back, and in order to to so, he'd have to suffice for The Undertaker's brother, Kane. Kane was none too happy about losing to Lashley at Summerslam, so with the opportunity to face his brother's former enemy, Booker T, presenting itself, Kane took it and now, the Big Red Monster and the former Monarch of Monarchs would face eachother at No Mercy. Although he had the crowd behind him, Jeff came up short in his Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship at Unforgiven. It was during this time that MVP began to show his face on Smackdown more, interfering in matches and talking shit about everyone in the WWE. One comment was directed at the Rainbow Haired Warrior, whereupon MVP labeled him a "Druggie with no future whatsoever." This'd ignite some fire and well, as you'd expect, the two would meet at No Mercy in a match that'd lead to bigger and better things.

Paul Burchill and Kevin Thorn were at the top of the Smackdown Tag Team Division, but the team of London and Kendrick did not take too kindly to their dominance. Their feud began as a singles match between Burchill and London, to which Burchill won with a Grasp of the Reaper. Not long after, Burchill spoke of London's in-ring abilities in a negative light, calling him far too "sloppy and negligent in the ring." In reality, his promo was a shoot, for Burchill and London were having real life issues with eachother backstage. The WWE used this to insinuate a feud between Burchill and London's respective teammates, Thorn and Kendrick, which turned into a Tag Team feud for the WWE Tag Team Championships.

~Full RAW Results; 9/25/07 - 10/30/07~
At Unforgiven, Randy Orton purposely disqualified himself in his match against John Cena in order to retain the WWE Championship. John Cena was granted another chance at the WWE Championship, but this time, he came up short at The Wrestling Classic, losing to Orton cleanly. The Doctor of Thuganomics' beef with the Legend Killer, however, did not finish at The Wrestling Classic. In fact, Orton used his father, Bob Orton, in trying to convince Cena to relinquish his chase for the WWE Championship, but Cena had none of it. Instead, he FUed Bob Orton and well, flicked off the WWE Champion in the process. This edgier Cena didn't give a fuck about the needs of others, though in his chase for the WWE Championship, he was still the good guy. I guess you can say he adored his fans, but if someone got in his way, they'd be buried. (literally) As Cena was gaining momentum leading into Cyber Sunday, the Legend Killer, Randy Orton, was in limbo, losing quite a few matches here and there. His biggest loss was against the ECW Champion, Rob Van Dam, who himself had no ill will towards anyone on the RAW roster, therefore he was in a bit of a quagmire himself. The two Champions clashed a week after Smackdown's No Mercy.

John Cena, Randy Orton's opponent for Cyber Sunday, was driven so mad by his discontent and need for a belt around his waist, he challenged the Intercontinental Champion, Shelton Benjamin, to a match for the Intercontinental Championship on the same RAW in which Rob Van Dam and Randy Orton clashed. The Number One Contender fell short, losing to a Superkick by Shelton. Insane, Cena bloodied the Intercontinental Champion with brass knuckles, a bad habit that made its unfortunate return within Cena's persona. Later on in the night, Orton took a look at a displaced Shelton, and apparently, with a devious grin, an idea hatched in his head. The Legend Killer asked Shelton what his deepest desire was, and Shelton told him that he'd want nothing more than to become the greatest Champion RAW had ever seen, and in the process, become a World Champion. Orton promised to make Shelton's desire come true, but there was a price; Shelton would have to abide by Orton's words and do all that the WWE Champion asked of him, or else there'd be no desire fulfilled for the underrated athlete. The Intercontinental Champion made a pact with the WWE Champion, and as Shelton glanced over Orton's shoulders, eyeing the WWE Championship, Orton grinned a malicious smile; it was the beginning of the Destined Ones...

First order of business for Shelton? Get rid of Cena's bonnie lass, Candice Michelle, before Cyber Sunday for her big match against Beth Phoenix. Why Candice? Well, the Women's Champion and the Doctor of Thuganomics had a little something going on at The Wrestling Classic, and as the weeks went by, it was apparent that Candice was beginning to become attracted to the edgier Cena. If Orton struck a chord and managed to make Cena vulnerable, all the while making Candice lose the Championship to Phoenix at Cyber Sunday, all would be good for the Legend Killer. And so, Shelton Benjamin, with his desire in the back of his mind, tried to rid Orton of Cena's friend with benefits, but it was to no avail. Cena himself became involved and Orton considered it far too risky, so it was aborted. Instead, Orton just commenced Shelton to get rid of the source; Cena himself. Unfortunately for the WWE Champion, Cena defeated Shelton in singles competition the RAW before Cyber Sunday. Although Orton was initially disappointed with Shelton's loss, he knew that in the long run, he needed Shelton to do his dirty work for him, so he brushed his loss off with a "You'll get him next time." At Cyber Sunday, Cena and Orton would, well, settle their differences once and for all in a "Choose the Loser's Fate" Iron Man match for the WWE Championship....

At Unforgiven, the King of Kings, Triple H, returned and managed to exact revenge upon one half of the men whom had him injured at New Years Revolution, but for Edge, the game was just beginning. On the following RAW, Edge cut a promo, calling The Game a coward and insulting him for attacking an unprepared opponent; in this case, that opponent was Edge. Triple H didn't appear, but the sound of his music sent chills down the Rated R Superstar's throat. For weeks leading up to Cyber Sunday, Triple H merely played mind games with the Rated R Superstar, doing nothing more than toying with him. At The Wrestling Classic, however, Triple H stopped the games and disqualified himself in order to make Edge feel physical pain, nailing him with a sledgehammer shot to the stomach. Edge recovered not too long afterwards and speared Triple H twice before leaving the ring in anticipation of his incoming matches to become the Number One Contender. Later on in the night, Triple H and WWE Champion, Randy Orton, confronted eachother while in the backstage area, and as the Legend Killer had a few choice words for the Game, Triple H abandoned his inhibitions and forced Orton against a wall, warning him of a harsher future than Cena has in store for him. The WWE Champion merely laughed in the face of his former mentor, unintimidated by Triple H's clairvoyance.

Meanwhile, Edge lost in a Quarter Finals Triple Threat match to advance in the tournament; instead of placing the blame on himself, he looked to a scapegoat, and that scapegoat? You guessed it, the King of Kings. On RAW, Edge demanded to Jonathan Coachman to make a match between him and Triple H at Cyber Sunday; the Coach agreed, but made it a Number One Contender match. The winner would go on to face the WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble, which was two months away... At Unforgiven, Carlito defeated his former mentor, Ric Flair, in a Steel Cage match and consequently, put the Naitch out of commission for awhile. Carlito's rise to superstardom began to take shape in the form of egotism on Carlito's part, something that Flair forewarned him of just a year ago. The Caribbean superstar was concerned more with fame, cash, and women than with the responsibilities that come with being a superstar on the rise. He began to partake in a lifestyle that included causing trouble among other superstars, paying other guys like Cor Von and Umaga to win matches for him, and dating numerous divas, such as Layla and Brooke. Carlito was living the high life, he had everything going for him, that is, until a certain Straight Edge superstar made it his calling to turn Carlito around for the better; CM Punk.

CM Punk was appalled at Carlito's behaviour as of late, but the Caribbean superstar didn't care for Punk's meager feelings. CM Punk tried reasoning with Carlito, tried nearly everything in his willpower, but Carlito was too stubborn for his own good to consider anything Punk offered. Punk had to resort to using force to right the wrongs that Carlito committed to the entire RAW roster and himself. On the 10/8 edition of RAW, CM Punk and Carlito were scheduled to face eachother in a match, per Punk's request, but the General Manager of RAW, Jonathan Coachman, had a better idea in store for the two men to settle their score; a match at Cyber Sunday.... Rob Van Dam defeated Shane O' Mac at Unforgiven, retaining the ECW Championship in the process. By defeating Shane McMahon, Rob Van Dam's feud with the McMahons was over. Although Rob Van Dam began to pick up victories against the best of the best, including the WWE Champion, Randy Orton, Van Dam was feeling empty; perhaps the ECW Championship around his waist just wasn't the same without ECW around. Van Dam was so bored, he challenged the WWE fans to choose someone from Smackdown to face him for the ECW Championship at Cyber Sunday. The three choices were huge, to say the least; The Lord of Darkness, Mr. Money in the Bank, and the Luchadore from the 619...

Candice Michelle retained the Women's Championship in an "I Quit" match against her longtime rival, Melina. Because of a Last Chance stipulation, Melina can't challenge for the Women's Championship so long as Candice remains Champion. Her problems persisted, however, with another bad girl; Beth Phoenix. Phoenix demolished Maria to become Number One Contender for the Women's Championship at Cyber Sunday. The following week on RAW, Phoenix interrupted a 'lil moment between Candice and John Cena. As Cena was pitting some of his game, Phoenix pushed Candice aside and warned her. Because of the way Phoenix was treating his woman, Cena came between the two of them and pulled Candice away before Phoenix told him, "You wouldn't hurt a lady, would you?" The Glamazon glared at Candice before taking off. Two weeks before Cyber Sunday, the Main Event was a Intergender Tag Team match, featuring John Cena and the Women's Champion, Candice Michelle, against WWE Champion, Randy Orton, and Beth Phoenix. Cyber Sunday was the end of an era; the Era of Cena on RAW. For years, Cena had dominated the flagship program of the WWE, but with his defeat in a "Loser Leaves RAW" match at the hands of Randy Orton, Cena was no longer a member of the RAW Roster. The WWE Champion, however, now had two enemies, both of whom the Champion knew all too well; The Game, Triple H, and the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. Triple H, of course, wanted nothing more than revenge after being shelved by Rated RKO in January. Edge was now gone from the picture, having been beaten by The King of Kings two out of three times, the most important being the third. HBK, however, wanted some redemption from the Legend Killer for injuring him before Summerslam, making him miss out on the biggest party of the Summer. Randy Orton's newfound cohort, Shelton Benjamin, would become involved in this three sided affair, if only because he was involved with Orton. But history has a way of repeating itself, and a few years ago, Shelton picked up striking wins against The Game; four men, and with time and history as the beckoning of their impending clash, just where in the hell will it go?

Rob Van Dam was, well, kinda lost, but unbeknownst to all, his victory against The Lord of Darkness was really the beginning of the end for the Whole Damn Show, seeing as his momentum was beginning to die down. The Undertaker merely lost because of a certain superstar interfering in the match; Van Dam was dominated throughout the entire match. A former New Breeder would challenge Van Dam's inspiration once and for all; the Alpha Male, Marcus Cor Von. Cor Von was a much different man than the Deadman that Van Dam fought at Cyber Sunday; here was a regular man, with a regular family, with all the goals and aspirations to make it big in the professional wrestling business, but time and time again, the ECW Originals, back in the days of WWE's incarnation of ECW, defeated his purpose. At the height of that, was ECW Champion, Rob Van Dam. At Wrestlemania 23, Van Dam personally pinned Cor Von to give the Originals the victory of their careers; this was not lost on the Alpha Male, who aimed to rectify such memories of pain.. On RAW the night after Cyber Sunday, Marcus Cor Von cut a passionate promo, entailing his life's tribulations, but the fans disregarded it, much to the Alpha Male's chagrin. Rob Van Dam made an appearance, clapping for Cor Von's display of humanity, but once the ECW Champion approached the ring, POUNCE! The Alpha Male betrayed Van Dam's trust with narry more than a Pounce, sending him off onto the ramp. This ignite one of the more personal feuds to culminate at Survivor Series.

Carlito defeated CM Punk at Cyber Sunday, but the Straight Edge superstar wasn't done with the Caribbean superstar. CM Punk redeemed himself by defeating Carlito cleanly on RAW the following night, but Carlito's arrogance had something to do with his loss. Not to belittle CM Punk's victory, the Straight Edge superstar challenged Carlito to another match, this time one for the books, at Survivor Series. Mr. Cool, however, aligned himself with the Destined Ones, WWE Champion, Randy Orton, and Intercontinental Champion, Shelton Benjamin. Thus, this forced Punk to side with Number One Contender, Triple H, and the Showstopper, HBK. Little did Carlito know, his old mentor would return; The Nature Boy, Ric Flair! Flair, once a mentor to The Game, sided with Triple H, HBK, and CM Punk, if only to teach Carlito a lesson. Edge, one of Triple H's most despised enemies, capitulated and sided with his former friend, Randy Orton, Shelton Benjamin, and Carlito. All eight men would clash in a traditional Survivor Series match at the Pay Per View..... Chris Jericho made his monumental return to RAW, but instead of becoming an in-ring participant at Survivor Series, Jericho decided that it was best to do a Highlight Reel for the Pay Per View, and what better way to commemorate the ten year anniversary of the Montreal Screwjob than to invite Jim Niedhart of the old Hart Foundation and World Tag Team Champions, Harry Smith and TJ Wilson of the new Hart Foundation, to speak their opinions on the incident?

The Women's Champion, Candice Michelle, defeated The Glamazon, Beth Phoenix, at Cyber Sunday through some miracle, as if by some divine intervention. Throughout the match, the Women's Champion was being (wo)manhandled by the Glamazon, but managed to fight back and pull of the victory by a damn hair. Nonetheless, Candice's troubles with the Glamazon were far from over. For weeks, Phoenix was a thorn in Candice's side, costing her matches with the likes of Melina, her former rival and so forth. In the end, Candice and her friends, as well as Phoenix and her friends, would fight over the right to be the top Divas in all the WWE at Survivor Series.... Umaga's manager, Armando Alejandro Estrada, became sick and tired of the brass of the WWE kicking Umaga to the curb, and so, he challenged anyone from within the WWE to face the Samoan Bulldozer at Survivor Series, hoping for Umaga's dominance to rise to prominence once more. For a week, the call went on unanswered, but on Smackdown, Mark Henry and his manager, Khosrow Daivari, answered the call to arms and accepted Estrada's terms, creating a giant of a match at Survivor Series...

~Full Smackdown Results; 10/19/07 - 11/23/07~
The Undertaker defeated the Real Deal, Bobby Lashley, at No Mercy. Unfortunately for the Lord of Darkness, he'd have another encounter with Lashley; at Cyber Sunday, The Undertaker was chosen to face Rob Van Dam for the ECW Championship. The Undertaker wasn't able to add the ECW Championship to his list of titles due to Lashley's interference in the match. This infuriated the Lord of Darkness, and of course, The Undertaker wanted the blood to be repaid in full. Thorn, Burchill, Moore, and Kane all challenged Lashley to matches before Cyber Sunday, and only two men managed to pick up victories against him; Kane and Burchill. Thorn and Moore fell to Lashley's might. The Undertaker continued to send his cronies to do the dirty work, but inevitably, men who once helped Batista would come to aid Lashley. Rey Mysterio and Booker T came to Lashley's aid, and sooner or later, the Number One Contender to Moore's Cruiserweight Championship, Robert Anthony, came to Lashley's aid as well. Dreamer would come in afterward, being convinced by Van Dam, who himself defeated The Undertaker at Cyber Sunday. The war over Smackdown would spill into RAW as well, with the Ministry disrupting Triple H's feud with Orton and so forth. The action would primarily remain on Smackdown, however, and Lashley challenged The Undertaker's authority over Smackdown with a stipulation for Survivor Series; if his team defeated the Ministry, Theodore Long would get his job back. If not, The Ministry would remain the dominant body of authority on Smackdown.

Kennedy and MVP had an uneasy alliance, for their quarrels with one another did not end with their instantaneous team up to take on the Hardyz at Cyber Sunday, Kennedy was disappointed that he was not chosen to face Rob Van Dam, while Porter was stunned. The Hardyz, of course, had their qualms about them regarding the team of Kennedy and MVP; Kennedy humiliated both of the brothers on several occassions, and MVP was on bad terms with Jeff Hardy. Nonetheless, Kennedy considered his ally "incompetent" and deemed him, "A Nobody." This incited some harsh words from Smackdown's Most Valuable Playa, but Kennedy didn't seem to care. While their blood boiled with disdain, the Hardyz were able to pick the both of them off in singles competition, each brother picking up a victory against Kennedy and MVP, respectively. Mr. Money in the Bank took it upon himself to take revenge, but MVP told him to wait until Survivor Series, where the four would meet in a Tag Team TLC match to end their feud....

Team Destined Ones were victorious at Survivor Series; vengeance spoke in volumes that night, however. The return of Bret "The Hitman" Hart was perhaps the biggest surprise of the entire year, and on RAW, Bret officially announced that he was the new General Manager of RAW. The entire professional wrestling world was shocked at this revelation, seeing as McMahon, HBK, and Hart weren't on the best of terms. Perhaps the ten years had eased their tension with one another, but HBK knew there was more to this than meets the eye. Nonetheless, while Triple H chased Orton, HBK remained the odd one out in the feud. Both Triple H and HBK admired and respected one another, but once the WWE Championship came in, both of them decided to cast aside their friendship. Their friendship became little more than a memory, but it returned once The Destined Ones defeated The Hart Foundation for the World Tag Team Championships, and since both men were eager for gold, Triple H and HBK decided to challenged The Destined Ones for the World Tag Team Championships at Armageddon. Although Triple H and HBK's relationship began to diminish, Orton and Benjamin began to look more and more like a team instead of before, which had Orton merely using the Intercontinental Champion for his gains.

Candice Michelle and Mickie James made history on Sunday; after participating in the first ever Divas' Survivor Series match, the two were the only survivors, setting a precedent for future Divas to follow. While Candice was enjoying her sixth month as Women's Champion, the last femme fatale to fall to her at Survivor Series, Layla, began to despise her reign, calling her, "Unworthy.." She cited the fact that Candice lost in the 2004 Diva Search, and Layla herself was the winner of the 2006 Diva Search. The Smackdown Diva harassed Candice and practically seduced her way into becoming Number One Contender for the Women's Championship at Armageddon. (Theodore Long was a fool indeed...)

~Full Smackdown Results; 11/30/07 ~ 12/21/07~
Team Domination defeated The Ministry at Survivor Series, thereby granting Theodore Long his job back as General Manager, a position The Lord of Darkness, The Undertaker, had held since The Great American Bash. Lashley had acquired the win for his team, being the sole survivor, but their victory came at a price, a blood price... One of Lashley's friends, Rey Mysterio, challenged The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship on Smackdown, but was unsuccessful, and paid for it in his blood; The Undertaker locked Mysterio in the Gogoplata and made him bleed profusely from within. For a fan of the guy from 619, it was not a sight you'd like to see. Lashley's grudge with the Lord of Darkness, however, was not just his affair anymore; Booker T and Rey Mysterio made claims to The Undertaker's Championship, and Kane, seeking to defend his brother from their greed, agreed to become his brother's acolyte in the forthcoming end to all their feuds with one another; Armageddon 6 Man Hell in a Cell. There was one man missing from the equation....

Mr. Money in the Bank, Ken Kennedy, left MVP to rot in their match against the Hardyz at Survivor Series, and indeed, MVP lost the match. Kennedy was finished with the other three men, however, leaving them behind in search of far more lucrative endeavors, and he found one in the ECW Champion, Rob Van Dam. Van Dam had just come off a victory against Marcus Cor Von, retaining the ECW Championship in the process. Kennedy knew that in order to elevate himself, he'd have to defeat Rob Van Dam. In real life, Van Dam's contract was ending as of December, and he had no plans to renew it. The plan was for Kennedy to enter a program with Van Dam, with Van Dam putting his career on the line to challenge for Kennedy's Money in the Bank contract. The WWE now had one of their biggest matches on the card for Armageddon.... Another ECW Original, Tommy Dreamer, was wrapped up in Ministry business after aiding Team Domination at Survivor Series. Because of his affiliation, he was now a black mark that was deemed "to be rid of," by The Undertaker. Paul Burchill and Kevin Thorn had the dubious task of getting rid of the Innovator of Violence, and their task would meet its appropriate end at Armageddon, in a Handicap Hardcore Match.

A Third Generation superstar made his debut on Smackdown after Survivor Series, and quite fittingly; Teddy Hart. Maryse became his valet, and together, the couple dominated the few weeks before Armageddon, with Maryse distracting his opponents and Hart finishing them off with a modified Cutter. The couple was soon bereft of their dominance once Hart suffered his first loss to Matt Hardy. (That's right, no undefeated streaks here..) Hart became frustrated and demanded a rematch, and Hardy obliged him; their rematch would occur at Armageddon, per standard Smackdown booking.... Shannon Moore had held the Cruiserweight Championship since Judgment Day, marking a hell of a long time to hold the Cruiserweight Championship, though it's not the first time it's happened. Though Moore was a part of the Ministry, he was merely a grunt for the Lord of Darkness, it seems. He was always the first to try, and the first to lie, with his arms on the mat, that is. Robert Anthony, a rising Cruiserweight superstar, defeated Jamie Noble to become Number One Contender, and after his somewhat impressive showing at Survivor Series, he proved he can hang with the big boys, much less defeat the smaller ones. Finally, he'd get his first chance to win gold at Armageddon...

Last, but certainly not least, John Cena; the Docta of Thuganomics was absent at Survivor Series due to his contract being up in the air, but in time, Theodore Long took it upon himself to acquire Cena's contract, contemplating that it was too good of a deal to pass up. In the past, Theodore Long and Cena had their problems, and of course, they became apparent once again. Long wanted Cena to prove himself before he can become a Smackdown superstar; Cena considered it BS that he'd have to "legitimize" his way into Smackdown, being a former WWE Champion and all, but after some brief consideration, he reluctanly complied with Long. His Contract Match would take place at Armageddon, and his opponent? The Strongest Man in the World..

WWE has signed a former AAA Campeon de Campeones, Octavio Arreola Lopez. His signing is at the forefront of an increasing consciousness within the WWE to get more Hispanic viewers to watch the WWE product, hence Carlito's prior and continuing push. Octavio Arreola Lopez, more commonly known as Cibernetico throughout Mexico, was also a participant in the 1997 Royal Rumble, as a part of WWE's brief relationship with AAA. He had a dark match at Armageddon, but rumors indicate he'll debut on WWE television after Wrestlemania 24.​
