The latter. Archer has been wrestling on Dark the past month.
and before that he was doing the G1 in Japan. Theyve done plenty of stuff with Archer in the past but hes in his late 40s and any expectations he will ever be anything but a gatekeeper, imo, is wishful thinking. And I mean zero disrespect, dude is awesome and a monster but he's older and they have a lot of big guys that are prioritized more. I thought his early angles were cool but I can reasonably understand why there's not that much room for that on TV atm. I think the biggest mistake was not putting him in a faction, tho it was cool to see him tag with Suzuki
