But back to that actual match, I just rewatched it and holy FUCK that crowd reaction is just absurd, from the moment Austin's music hits (obviously) they're crazy but they just never fucking stop lol I read once (probably in one of Mick's books) that the crowd legit didn't stop for ages after the show went off air too. Just what a fucking moment, no one more deserving of it than Mick either.

I couldn't believe Bischoff's plan to give away the result of Foley winning the championship backfired and that it began a slow, painful death of the company before Ted Turner sold it to Vince in 2001. Gotta love Foley for winning the title that night.

Foley knew who he was, and what he was in the grand scheme of things. He knew he didn't have "it" rather just a level under that but he understood the business and what it took to get others "over". He did it soooo many times. I don't think ANYONE will say he was the greatest but man, he was so damn good at doing what he did.
