Goldberg is still under contract for WWE, and is waiting for the next call.

In an interview with The New York Post, Goldberg said he was still under contract with the company and noted he was in “pretty damn good shape” right now.

“I’m still waiting for that one [call] to happen one of these days,” Goldberg said. “But I suppose you never retire in the wrestling world until you’re dead, so who knows.”

He also revealed that his shoulder was injured prior to his match against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber back in February. However, he said that he hasn’t gotten it “cut on because you never know when the phone’s gonna ring". Goldberg said that his shoulder has been “absolutely destroyed over the past four or five years," and was able to "hide it from everybody". The shoulder injury was severe enough to the point where he couldn’t hold a five-pound weight. He has instead spent time rehabbing his shoulder.

“I have worked my ass off day, after day, after day to get to a point where I feel almost normal again,” he said. “I just kind of needed that break. I needed the mental focus of understanding that surgery wasn’t an option at the time and I needed to put my ass to the grindstone.”

Goldberg has only wrestled once this year, losing to Reigns at Elimination Chamber. In 2021, he worked three dates, losing to Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble and Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam. He defeated Lashley in a rematch at Crown Jewel in October.

He’ll definitely be at the next Saudi show.

But…it would be very entertaining watching him kill Sami for 5 minutes at Survivor Series or something

Eh. They did that with Lashley a couple years ago and it pretty much sucked imo.

Sami is gonna bump more for Goldberg than Lashley did.

Better comparison would’ve been the match he had with Dolph at Summerslam a couple years back

He meant Lashley vs Zayn I believe.

Even better would be if you knew what match I was talking about. :lol I am referencing Lashley vs. Zayn from Survivor Series 2020. It was just a bunch of Sami dodging and begging off and then being decimated by Lashley once he got his hands on him and I found it thoroughly unenjoyable, even though I have no problem with the match premise.

The feud was unrelated to the 2020 match. They feuded back in like 2018. They just faced off at SS because they were the midcard champs of the respective brands.
