Just been catching up a bit on this thread, America is wild man. As a Brit, we were brought up to basically believe America is a very similar country to our own, that Americans are our neighbours culturally. But fuck man, since I've gotten older and watch events unfold from this distance, it seems like the opposite end of the spectrum half the time. Shit is wild. And our country is certainly fucked in its own way, and our politicians are as corrupt as all fuck, but just could not imagine giving a shit about owning guns. Could not imagine giving a shit about a constitution written hundreds of years ago. Could not imagine giving a shit about the bible, nevermind actually using it to dictate laws or effect politics. Could not imagine giving a shit about what other people do in their love lives or to their own bodies. The world just seems fucked when these topics are considered the priority for people to want to control, when instead we could be trying to tackle more important issues, like the majority of common folk barely being able to afford to live
