The former Dakota Kai has filed a trademark for what may be her new in-ring name.
On May 9, Kai (real name Cheree Crowley) applied to trademark "King Kota." Kai also recently changed her Instagram handle to "imkingkota."

Kai was released by WWE during a set of NXT roster cuts on April 29. She was a two-time Women's Tag Team Champion while in NXT.
Prior to her release, Kai worked several main roster dark matches over the past year but was never called up.
Kai went by the in-ring name "Evie" before joining WWE in 2017. In a statement posted after her release, Kai indicated that she wouldn't be going back to using that name.
“I don’t know what’s next for me,” Kai wrote. "I chose ‘Evie’ at 17 years old. That chapter is shut...just know this; I am far from being done."
