It's all about money. Business is business. An athlete beats cancer and wins he's comeback match. That's the story. Roman can beat cancer but he can't beat Drew in a mid card match. That's a shit story to tell. Fair enough if the match is the main event match. You can tell the story of a heroic losing performance. But that isn't the case.
Ever since Daniel Bryan wwes approach (besides roman) to building up babyface is to lose again and again. It don't work bro. People love him already. Roman is facing Drew in the mid card. The money is for him to win and make a wrestlemania moment. Don't see the story projection afterwards. You can just have him lose a championship match later down the line and it will 100x more effective. If this match was a bigger match for the title then sure go ahead and tell the story. But obviously the money us in the cancer survivor to win the mid card match and have a successful comeback match.
Oh yeah have the cancer survivor lose. There is so much more money in him losing. No chance is Drew winning lol.
