Professional wrestling obviously has sporting elements. But the fact that the outcome of the matches are predetermined automatically mean you cannot classify it as a sport. That does not take anything away from the athletes. Well it does...but still.
If a football or boxing match has been fixed I will not consider it a sport. A sport that has a predetermined winner is not a sport imo. As it takes away all of the competitive and tactical elements. Along with some of the physical elements.
I have no problem with people calling it a sport though. Cuz the definition of a sport iis ambiguous as it is.
The point about figure skating and diving is a interesting point. These kind of sports are based on the aesthetics. They are judged on the merit of how good an action has been performed. Therefore is very much a competitive sport.
