This is something that has been brought up many times before but I am thinking that it may be a good idea at this point with the way they do schedules. It seems like people get injured left and right and most of the active roster hardly has a life outside of the ring. I can't imagine how much stress that can bring on.

So what are your thoughts on this?

Maybe have an off season from when Wrestlemania ends till June?

Hmmmm, you give me the "thinks".........hmmmmmmm.......um ok, I would give them all of May off, all of August off (moving Summerslam to July) and maybe 3/4 of January off because that first week is important to bring in the new year .

An off season though would mean they have one longer stretch of time off like NFL/NBA/ect

I got what you're saying but I'm saying I would break it up in sectors, it's just how I see it.

No. They know what they signed up for. If wrestlers wanna sit at home and have their little off season then they will be replaced by a different wrestler who will go out and make the company their money.

This is partially on the money.

This is correct as well.

Vince McMahon truly does not care about his employees. They are pieces of meat to him. He does not see them as human beings but human doings

Right now, talent like Kane and Big Show take mini vacations for months at a time each and every year. So, ideally, each wrestler would take weeks off, but never at the same time each abd every year.

The 'off season' would apply on a micro level just as any full time employee in any job earns their vacation time. Unfortunately, WWE employees are 'independent contractors' (which is huge load of bullish*t on the first place), so it isn't Vince's responsibility to see that his workers be treated humanely.

Well, if WWE does that, how are they going to supply their own financial flow? We know that May all the way to August 31st is considered quiet months, that "downward" turn or spiral. But, the Summer is also a time where everyone goes out, and does things outside, so WWE needs to keep their doors open. Some stars are able to ask for a time off, and WWE would be willing to help out. Undertaker could've just come back on TV to talk about his injury, or WWE can even do a behind-the-scenes look at Taker, like they did with Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan. But they didn't.

That's the paradox. Money is always the deal breaker in this discussion.

Most men see themselves as disposable. Society conditions us to believe the same. This means professional wrestlers understand that their lives are meaningless. They are willing to destroy themselves in order to attain validation. It's a never ending cycle where you are punished for deviating from the norm.

When more and more wrestlers stop seeing themselves as disposable utilities the power shift will swing over from the promoter to the talent. Unfortunately, this can't happen in such a capitalist society

Maybe not everyone off at the same time, but a 10 or 11 month contract for each wrestler may help alleviate the stress and family issues.

I personally like the idea of the WWE performers having time off to rest, recover
and spend time with their families...but...

Would the performers themselves want to take off?

The WWE is such a competitive environment and the booking style the company
employs already makes it hard enough to maintain momentum and popularity
with the (somewhat jaded) WWE audience.

I guess if you decide to take time off...someone will gladly fill your spot for a few
weeks...but it is possible they could take your spot permanently.

The WWE is a television show at the end of the day and the company has no
shortage of performers waiting for a shot at a bigger, more important role.

I mean just look at what happened to Bayley...she was completely ruined
by poor booking, the WWE tried to "fix" her only for her to get injured...and
its going to take a miracle to get the fans (who where booing her the last
time I checked) to care about Bayley when she does return.

I guess there is no clear answer for this question...

I want the WWE performers to be happy & healthy...but they may not want
their own careers to suffer just to achieve that.
