So with the rumors that Reigns/Lesnar 2 is the desired Main Event at WM34 and the backlash to said rumor I have to ask, if not Roman then who? WWE obviously wants Roman to be the next face they spent the last 4 years building him as an unstoppable "underdog" all the while the fans rejected him. "turn him heel," we say as if it'll change anything at this point. He's not turning heel and he damn sure ain't staying out of the title picture. What makes this even more frustrating is that they desperately try and push him in a time where they have some of the best independent talent of the last decade under contract! In these circumstances a "top guy" isn't even necessary because they talent pool is so vast and diverse all you need is to book these guys properly. Look at Smackdown, that show isn't good because of just AJ Styles and John Cena but because everyone on the show is booked to their strengths. It's a group effort and it works with the amount and quality of talent you have. So instead of pushing the guy the company ( and only the company) wants let everyone shine and let the fans be the judge of who becomes the next Cena, Rock, Stone Cold, Hogan.../rant.

You would think at this point they would realize they need to cool in on Reigns if he stands any chance for having a future.

I still think they're going to do Lesnar vs Reigns at SummerSlam this year, and not at WM 34, but I guess we'll see.

Now, on topic: Rollins.

Honestly, I'd play out this Triple H vs Seth Rollins storyline for a while. Maybe have a hardcore tag match where Seth is about to get his revenge on Triple H, but then Joe cheapshots him and they double-team and pin him... something like that.
Give us time to have a real, honest Seth Rollins vs Triple H feud. See how the fans like seeing Seth as the #1 babyface for a minute. And see how that goes. If it works, great. If not, give Nakamura a shot.

I'd say Sami Zayn but that ship has clearly sailed

Seth Rollins, it is as simple as that. He is arguably the most over guy not named Cena.

But Roman could be the top guy, just NOT the Roman we have right now. And that doesn't mean he has to turn heel. If they want him to be a tweener, then do it right. Take off the damn vest first. That is easy and it's obvious that it's not liked. Make him vicious. Make him ruthless. Make him come in and tear people apart, rather than what he has been doing.

But the most important thing is that Roman needs to LEARN from Cena. John Cena knows how to react to fans that don't like them. He embraces them. He compliments them. Cena is arguably nicer and more appreciative of the fans that hate him than he is of the fans who love him. Roman needs to stop yelling at the fans after the shows. He needs to acknowledge them but not antagonistically. They want him to be the next Cena, then be the next Cena the way that Cena is.

I'm not a John Cena guy, but the way he interacts with the fan is brilliant and I respect him so very much. Let Roman try it out.

But on topic, it seems like Roman is just going to keep being Roman and I am sorry, but it will NEVER WORK. You cannot tell your fans who to like They will decide on their own. And right now, Seth Rollins is the guy who could be the top guy in the company if they let him. Hell, the reaction on Raw when Rollins came into the ring the other night... that was the biggest pop I've seen on Raw in a LONG TIME. Rather than ignore that, WWE needs to use it. They have a number 1 guy that the fans love. Use him if they want to make money.

I just mentioned it to my brother and he said he hated Rollins because he seems like he is just a "little Triple H." Personally, if I was Rollins, I would take that as a compliment. He could be the man.

Shinsuke is pure charisma. He simply walks into the ring and the fans go into a frenzy. Hell, they hum his music after his matches. The man doesn't even speak English, so when he reads a script in English, it's gritty and powerful. WWE would be stupid not to push this man to his full potential. He could completely change WWE if they give him a shot. I have no doubt about that at all.

It sucks because WWE will always run into an issue because they are trying to have "the next Cena"...
If they want Roman to work, then let the fans help shape him and he can be "the FIRST Roman".

What WWE seems to forget is that they didn't MAKE their biggest stars. Hulk Hogan was already the most popular guy in the AWA after being in Rocky III and he was VERY over when he came to the WWF. Steve Austin was a heel and they weren't trying to make him their number one guy. His character just connected with people who wanted to see something different. WWE was trying to push Batista as their top guy when Cena just completely overwhelmed him in popularity.

Think about it. When they try to push someone as the top star rather than let the fans choose who they like, it always ends bad. The Ultimate Warrior was handled very poorly by the WWF. Yeah, he was popular but he just didn't work as champion. They made him beat Hulk Hogan cleanly, which no one had done during his big WWF run and when he did that, there were no credible competitors. I mean, who can beat the man who beat the unbeatable man CLEANLY? We've already talked about Rocky Maivia, They tried to push them as one of the top faces and it was obvious they were trying to make him a top guy. It flunked and when they stopped trying to force us to like him, we began to like him on our own.

Think about Shawn Michaels. When he was a heel after turning on Marty Jannetty, he was great. He was popular. I used to love going to house shows and seeing the fans just explode when HBK came out. So they realized he was popular, changed him to a face and then changed his character a little. He was still cocky but it was in more of a friendly way. And his championship reign was not what they wanted it to be because the HBK they gave us was the one they created, not the one we grew to like.

I've said it a million times and I will say it again. People don't like to be told what they should like. It's a simple basic psychological concept. WWE, however, can't seem to understand it.
