this is something ive always assumed and never looked up.....why not inflate your attendance if you can?.,..makes all events feel bigger.

I live near Rockford, IL. and the last time Monday Night Raw was here....they said they had an attendance record of over 7,000....i looked around that night....and there was no way in hell there was close to 7,000 people there....5,000 tops...
If anything it just fits prowrestling everything is exaggerated even height and weight.

lol Only 5,000 or 7,000 at a Monday Night Raw? Yikes. That's house show-level numbers. Raw usually has about 12,000-14,000 people at least. Maybe 10,000 at the lowest on most occasions.
How big was the arena? I honestly have mo idea but 7k could have been close to maxed out

Depends, but it seems they'd intentionally go to an arena with a bigger seating capacity for their flagship show since they always go to arenas they know they can sell out (or come close to it), and I can't see them settling for a 7,000 for Raw when they can obviously do better (unless Rockford just isn't a WWE-heavy city.)

according to their site, even though i think it's bs, it can hold up to 10,000 depending on the event. However, i know they weren't even close to this....i mean the nosebleeds had entire sections missing and throughout the arena...they had to put these black looking blanket things over sections where the seats weren't filled in.

Rockford, at least all the times I've gone to shows there, varies.

Do attendance figures Ashley impress anyone? If I like something low attendance records won't stop me from going to see it. As well as high attendance numbers won't influence me to go see something I normally wouldn't see.

True, but having bigger crowds sounds more appealing to a casual wrestling fan, at least I think so. Anything that WWE can exaggerate and make "bigger" only helps their product more.

I mean if you see and ad for 2 wrestling programs....one says big event.... Housing over 6,000 fans.... Steel cage match, etc... It sounds more appealing than big event... With 1,000 fans.... Ladder match etc.

I think they do it to help draw in everyone.

I guess I'm different that way. I've always preferred smaller venues/crowds. Makes it feel more intimate and makes me feel more involved. I had more fun at ROH shows then I ever did at a non Wrestlemania WWE show because of the close crowd interaction.

No monies in the budget for wrestling shows anymore. Daycare fees here are a second fucking mortgage. It's insane.
Sucks.

Border Wars this year needs to be the event they re-introduce Elgin at after he got stopped at the Border :obama: :zeb:
