International Takeover

Well it is called "World Wrestling Entertainment"

Last night we saw another step in the wwe pushing another International superstar. As reporter earlier, the wwe is considering spliting up into multiple areas of the world. North America, Mexico/pacific and Europe. With Japan being a outside opportunity, but i think their might be too much competition in Japan.

Certainly it will take time to split the company as more stars need to be added. So how do you feel about more international stars, and spliting up the company into seperate divisions IF they go through with it?

I think its the next logical step in growing. The wrestling scene in mexico and europe is a great spot to expand. Only problem is that is will likely hurt the US scene with less programming, and less stars.

Stars

Umaga (somoa)
Carlito (carribean)
Rey (Mexico)
Finlay (Ireland)
Regal & Dave Taylor (England)
Harry Smith + Hart Foundation (Canada)
kofi Kingston (Jamanica)
Vladimor Koslov (Russia)
Highlanders (Scotland)
Armando Estrada (cuba)
Divari (Middle East)
SuperCrazy (mexico)
Khali (india)
Chavo ( mexico)
Jimmy Wang (Japan)
Maryse (??)
Santino Marella (Italy)

It sounds like the next step the WWE would take, but how would they do things like PPV's. Would each territory have there own PPV's? Some superstars may have issues going halfway across the world. It also seems like it would cannibalize sales for the flagship WWE.

I think they will probably just have developmental Territories around the world, like DSW and OVW. They will have a local broadcast and limited touring schedule. This way the WWE will be able to develop their own foreign talent and eventually call the international stars up to RAW or SD!

Seperate PPV's i believe.

From my understanding, the current North American verison would still be worldwide. The Mexican/Pacific would be the first section added with Carlito, Rey, SuperCrazy, beign sent there to help start. So after the Euro league with Regal, Finlay, and Burchill. These division would be 100% seperate, and probably not even shown in the US. As far as ppv's these would be completely seperate too. But i expect Wrestlemania to be International. OR They will create a new International Supershow similar to the Olympics or World Series with that type of hype. The Mexican, and Euro leagues would also serve as a devolopment terriority for some new stars.

This Could Be Good For Harry Smith To Break Through Into The Euro League. It Would Be Good To See Regal As A Top Wrestler Too But He Would Probs Be Jobbing To Finlay A Lot Or Tagging With Him. If The Original Burchill Comes There Then I'm Happy.

WWE is getting way too big, the whole international thing is cool, but keep it separate from the stuff that made them famous, America

I like the idea, did you hear the ovations for people in Italy? The fans over seas are dying for wwe to come over all the time. But it is going to be like the XFL either a huge gain or a huge failure

The Euro League would probably include Canada as well because of the large amount of talent. Thus the Hart Foundation. Highlanders to to euro league too. Kofi Kingston from Jamanica could play a big role for the pacific/mexican section. Personally i enjoy the new internaitonal stars. It seems to bring more realism to the characters. They also need an australian star. We really havent seen much from australia.

It would be a huge payroll to say the least, and although they'd be getting more money from more shows, I think it'd be way to much work for Vince especially. I'd rather there just be divisions. Like the IC division is International stars such as the IC champ Santino, the US division for the Americans like Benoit and MVP, an Intercontinental Tag Team Title, for the international tag teams, and then the United States Tag team Title for the Americans. They could bring over that Kofi guy(the Elijah Burke type guy), that russian dude, and some over sea talent. Combining the styles such as Sambo (russian) vs Luchador(mexican) would be very fun to watch.

I gotta say that I am all for this. It's already been mentioned who might go where, but we already know that The North American (USA and Canada) would be the flagship. I'm not quite sure if Batista would stay in that one or go to the Hispanic one since he is obviously of Hispanic descent and most of his fans are Hispanic. To tell you the Truth, they could probably just move Smackdown! (with a few roster changes of course) to Mexico/South Western U.S.

They also need an australian star. We really havent seen much from australia.

It's funny that they haven't signed one considering there are plenty of Australian wrestlers, many of which wrestle in Japan. I know for sure that we have at least 10 great wrestlers that i know of. Even Australian women wrestlers are good. I guess it's one of those things that just hasn't happened yet.

Oh and i support the split. It is called "World" Wrestling Entertainment and it's always an American or Canadian as heavyweight champ, i just wanna see some more international flavour, hell i don't care where from either. I'd like a Belgium heavyweight champ, maybe even Greek.
