The past few days riots have been happening in London. It started as a "peaceful" protest of about 120 people which turned into a fullscale riot. The initial protest was about a guy that was shot by police. One side says that he shot at police so police fired back and the other side says that he didn't draw his gun (note they don't say he wasn't carrying).

Whatever happened this is no way to go about it and I hope that the police deal with these thugs harshly. They should fire on the thugs that throw bombs and destroy property.

These people that riot are idiots because they are costing their community money by destroying everything.

I hate rioters and hope they are severly punished. This shouldn't happen in somewhere like England and these punk idiots are pathetic.

I hope that the forum members that live in London are okay.

The London Riots only basically up the road from me.... And I saw a lot of the guys on facebook talking about it coming down to Brighton... If shit starts down here, I'ma gonna be in a bad mood.

At the moment, London looks it's a warzone with some of the area which have gotten fucked over, and really it's a shit state of affairs in London. This might become worse than the Original Brixton ones... :/

I live in Liverpool and they have spread down here too. Lots of cars on fire and people homes destroyed. I know a lot of people who have been targeted. I have a cousin who lives in Croydon which was one of the worst hit areas but thankfully shes okay. Going to be a lot worse tonight though and I am starting to worry a bit.

Alot of media coverage about the riots here but until i saw this posts I still had no idea why the fuck people were burning shit. A similar thing happened here a few years ago except it was ALOT smaller when a aboriginal kid fell off his bike and was impaled on a fence. Also when a coupe of life guards were bashed and the cronulla riots occured. Sad that people feel they need to react in such a violent manner an punish the rest of a society and community for an individuals actions.

It is horrible seeing the pictures from England. It is sickening that these people are ruining regular peoples lives because they want to be idiots and riot. I have read that vigilante groups are starting to form and they are going to start attacking those that are rioting so they can't destroy property. I like that they want to stop these punks but surely with 16,000 police they can maintain this. Surprised that the army hasn't been called in yet. I always hate it when the minority try to ruin things for the majority.

In a positive it is nice seeing pictures of thousands on people walking into the streets with brooms to help clean everything up. That is the right spirit and it is nice seeing that people are looking foward already.

Well down here.... We're taking a difference approach, same in a few areas of London.

The Football Hooligans, amongst others are saying "if they want to riot... They gotta go through us" and now of those area's have even been tried, it was proven to be effective in Millwall as 600 of their Hooligans walked the streets ready to fight with any rioteers who attempted it.

So yeah, this might stop the riots, Man Power > Police Power, clearly in this situation.

No believe the news... Trust me...

If you want the proper news on it, follow it on the internet or BBC Worldwide... In those I trust, I know people who are on the front lines cause I got a lot of friends in london/ from london and it's just so much bullshit.

I read about the Millwall and other football fans and I have to admit it made me smile. I doubt the rioters would have gone anywhere near them.

I have been following it on Sky news Australia to keep up to date with everything.
