AEW doesn’t have like a PC system or anything so most of their roster will be from indies.

Most of the TNA originals came from smaller indies too.

Homegrown is more not from a mainstream company.

Is MJF an AEW homegrown in the same sense that Braun is a WWE homegrown? Obviously not. But a majority of AEW's viewers most likely never heard the name MJF before AEW.
