Green Lantern

Director: Martin Campbell
Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, Tim Robbins
Release Date: 17th June 2011

Plot Summary: In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Is anyone going to see this movie this weekend or in the coming weeks? What are your thoughts on the Green Lantern being made into a film?

I cannot f*cking wait for this movie. I am so damn excited to watch the movie, I've always been a fan of Green Lantern so I'll be going to the cinemas (First time in 7 years) just to see this movie!

I really want to see it, but will probably wait until August, about the time my local movie theater will get this movie. We get movies about a month and a half late, but it's only 2 bucks to watch, so I wait.

Anyways, I will be seeing this first chance I get, though. I am a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds, and The Green Lantern, and the trailer on my 3DS made me trip out. One of the few movies I actually want to see in 3D.

I give it a 7 or 7.5 as well. Alot of things in the movie were tweeked from the comic book which I think hurt it a little. However, there is so much to GL that an 1 and 40 minutes just can't do. Reynolds as Hal was a decent choose but it could have been casted better. Sinestro and the corps were awesome in this movie, but Hector as the bad guy was kinda blah in my opinion. That was my thought on the movie.

Im quite interested in seeing this movie, Comic book based movies have been flying into the cinema's the past few years with the majority being good. I recently watched X-Men first Class which i thought was the best in the whole series.

Isn't that Ryan Reynolds guy supposed to be playing the part of Deadpool in a upcoming movie? Well thats what i've been told.

I am not a fan really, but did you see him in buried, he was excellent in that.

Think I will wait for the DVD of this.

Liked Buried better when it was a CSI episode that was ripped off an old Twilight Zone episode.

Fair enough, I saw it on a plane, which may not have been the best location for it!
