Main Card:

185lbs: Chael Sonnen (26-11-1) vs Mark Munoz (12-2)
185lbs: Michael Bisping (22-3) vs Demian Maia (15-3)
135lbs: Eddie Wineland (18-8-1) vs Demetrious Johnson (9-2)

Preliminary Card(Likely airing on FuelTV/FX):

265lbs: Mike Russow (14-1-0-1) vs Jon Olav Einemo (6-2)
155lbs: Cody McKenzie (12-2) vs Michael Johnson (9-6)
145lbs: Cub Swanson (15-5) vs George Roop (12-8-1)
185lbs: Dustin Jacoby (6-1) vs Chris Camozzi (15-5)
155lbs: Evan Dunham (12-2) vs Paul Sass (12-0)
145lbs: Charles Oliveira (14-2) vs Eric Wisely (19-6)
Unbeliavble card for free TV, and I don't think there's going to be any complaints with there second show on Fox. Pulling for Sonnen and Shad to win just because there title fights with Silva and Bones are prob the 2 biggest fights that the UFC can put on later in the year.

Yeah really hoping that Evans and Sonnen get wins here as well, going with Bisping to pick up the win against Maia.

Also

When it was announced that longtime top contender Rashad Evans would be facing Phil Davis this coming January at UFC on Fox 2, it was widely assumed that the winner would be awarded the next shot at UFC light heavyweight champion Jonny "Bones" Jones.

Turns out, that's not exactly the case, as UFC president Dana White was asked last week at the UFC 140 pre-fight presser if Dan Henderson or Rashad Evans would be the next to face Jones, his answer giving the impression that Phil Davis won't be getting the shot, win or lose.

"The Fox fight in January will be Evans versus Davis and if Evans wins that fight, Evans will get the next shot at the title," said White. "If he doesn't, then, you know, we'll see."

This, of course, seems to imply that Dan Henderson would be the likely next candidate to take on Jones should Davis best Evans in January. Hendo has been actively campaigning to face the young champion and reiterated his stance following Jones' dominant victory over former champion Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida this weekend at UFC 140.

This is a PPV quality card with three top fights, can't wait for this show.

Great opportunity for Phil Davis to fight a top fighter in Evans. I am a Phil Davis fan so I hope that he wins but it will be tough against Rashad. Shame that Davis won't get a title shot even if he wins, I would have thought that by beating the next guy in line that he would get the chance against the champion. Davis vs. Jones is definitely a fight I want to see happen but I don't know if Davis is ready for it yet.

I want Sonnen to beat Munoz simply because I want to see Sonnen vs Silva yet again, especially if they hold that fight in Brazil.

I hope that Bisping can beat Maia, I think that Bisping is underrated and a win here should make him the next in line for a title shot after Sonnen/Munoz.

The Strikeforce heavyweights are coming.

Less than one week after UFC president Dana White announced that Strikeforce would no longer be promoting heavyweight contests, UFC executives today announced Lavar Johnson (15-5 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been imported to the UFC and will meet Joey Beltran (13-6 MMA, 3-2 UFC).

The two heavyweights will clash at UFC on FOX 2, which takes place Jan. 28 at Chicago's United Center.

The night's main card airs on FOX, but Beltran vs. Johnson is expected to take place on the evening's preliminary card.

Perhaps best known for his rapid recovery from a 2009 drive-by shooting, "Big" Johnson makes his first appearance for the UFC. The Californian fought six times for the WEC prior to its purchase by the UFC's parent company, Zuffa, and also went 3-2 during a five-fight stint under the Strikeforce banner.

Johnson looks to snap a two-fight losing streak after dropping fights to Shawn Jordan and Shane Del Rosario.

Meanwhile, Beltran looks to bounce back from a unanimous-decision loss to Stipe Miocic at October's UFC 136 event. The "Mexicutioner" debuted for the UFC in 2010 and earned TKO wins over Tim Hague and Rolles Gracie. However, he's gone just 1-3 since and is in need of a positive result.

Strikeforce is expected to promote a heavyweight grand prix final bout between Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier, as well as one additional contest, before scrapping the division.

"They don't need to have security around him (Sonnen) because he ain't going to Brazil," Munoz toldhttp://mmajunkie.com/radio mmajunkie. "I kind of feel disrespected a little bit, but you know what? It is what it is, and it ain't going to happen.

Determined as hell to get that title shot with Silva.

A guy with that kind of drive is a dangerous kind of guy. It isn't an out of control kind of revenge but more of a focused kind of revenge. Think Lesnar/Mir II. Lesnar wanted to tear Mir apart but it wasn't out of control. It was focused rage and because of that... it was going to be a long night for Mir and it was. Not saying that Munoz is going to take it to Chael like Lesnar took it to Mir... but it is going to be a lot more competitive than people may wanna think.

Yeah i agree, and regardless of whoever wins this they're going on to fight Anderson Silva this summer and either one of these guys matched up against him is going to create one hell of a fight.

Chael is my pick for the fight, but I'm not totally committed to that pick what so ever.

I like that UFC are adding the Strikeforce heavyweights onto the card so soon. May as well get them fighting right away if they are fit and it will add even more depth to an already packed division.

Yeah it's good to see them picking up some of the guys from Strikeforces heavyweight division, probably see a lot more of them on their fight cards in the new year.

Bisping, Evans and Sonnen will all pick up victories in their matches here, in my opinion. This will be a great show so I will more than likely tune into watch this.

The never ending list of injured fighters has grown yet again, this time attacking the UFC’s return to FOX TV in January.

Paul Sass, who was originally scheduled to face Evan Dunham, has been forced off the card due to an undisclosed injury presumably suffered while training and Eddie Wineland is out of his fight with Johnny Bedford for the same reason.

UFC officials announced the news late Monday evening.

Up on short notice against Dunham will be the always tough Nik Lentz and Bedford, who was originally a replacement for “Mighty Mouse” Johnson (now scheduled for the flyweight tournament) is currently left without an opponent, but the UFC insists a replacement search is underway.

UFC on FOX 2 is set to go down from Chicago’s United Center on January 28 live on FOX TV.

In the main event, Phil Davis will square off with Rashad Evans for the number one contender seat in the UFC’s light-heavyweight division ruled over by Jon Jones. The co-feature of the evening is a middleweight number one contender bout between Mark Munoz and Chael Sonnen. Also featured on the card is a middleweight bout with serious title implications between Michael Bisping and Damian Maia.

While Bedford may be waiting for his opponent, at least one of the two matches has been salvaged and is set to go down on the evenings undercard.

Evan Dunham vs. Nik Lentz is set and the fighters have agreed to face off on the 28th of January in Chicago.

Dunham was last seen at UFC Fight Night 24 in a calculated performance where he was able to outpoint Shamar Bailey and earn a unanimous decision victory. The win over Bailey was greatly needed after the former top-contender took defeat in two consecutive bouts to Sean Sherk and Melvin Guillard.

Lentz dropped his last outing earlier this month at UFC 140 when he stepped in the cage against Mark Boceck and got out-pointed to a decision. Prior to the defeat he was officially undefeated in seven UFC contests, however out of those seven; one resulted in a draw and one a no-contest
