There's nothing wrong with her gimmick. The problem is the writers don't know what to do with her.

They misunderstood her gimmick, too, and paired her with Santino who is an idiot.

Emma is a lovably quirky girl who means business once the ring bell dings. They haven't portrayed that at all.
