WWE taped the Friday, April 29 edition of SmackDown on Friday night in Albany, New York.

In a match set up on this week's show, Drew McIntyre took on Sami Zayn inside a steel cage.

A contract signing was held for the WrestleMania Backlash Tag Team title unification match between RK-Bro and The Usos on the episode.

The show also featured Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey taking part in an I Quit beat the clock challenge to determine which of the two could make their opponent quit first.

Raquel Rodriguez also made her SmackDown in-ring debut, plus Ricochet defended the Intercontinental title against Shanky.

Here are spoilers from Albany:

  • Tag Team title unification contract signing: Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre got involved after a brawl broke out between RK-Bro and The Usos, hinting at a future Reigns vs. McIntyre title match. Reigns and McIntyre traded strikes, as you can see in the video below.


  • Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn in a steel cage match


  • Ronda Rousey defeated Shotzi in an I Quit beat the clock challenge
  • Charlotte Flair vs. Aliyah in an I Quit beat the clock challenge: The clock expired while flair had Aliyah in a Figure 8
  • IC title: Ricochet retained the title against Shanky, they teased Shanky & Jinder Mahal splitting after the match
  • Raquel Rodriguez defeated an enhancement talent
  • Naomi defeated Shayna Baszler
  • King Woods defeated Ridge Holland
  • Sheamus defeated Kofi Kingston
  • Dark match: Bianca Belair defeated Sonya Deville to retain the Raw Women's title
  • Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss had a brawl on Happy Talk

Drew vs Roman at the PLE in the UK could have been sick but seems it could be up next. I guess you could also just have Roman beat Drew via the usual shenanigans. Drew wins the MITB and announces ahead of time he's cashing in for the UK PLE, that would be pretty hype.

Only issue with that is there's a lot of time to fill between then and I don't know who the fuck you would give Drew.

Yeah the UK show makes the most sense for Roman vs Drew but WWE doesn’t know how to make babyfaces and the already solid ones, Roman has already beaten. So I don’t think they could drag that out.

Naomi beating Baszler is a wild choice but Baszler was a Triple H product and most of those don’t work out on the main roster.

And it’s cool to see Aaliyah back on TV I guess. I randomly thought about it the other day that I hadn’t see her on TV in some time. She still sucks though
