There's storylines, but they're a lot more sports based.

the story is told in the ring and after match promos and it is done very well

most of the storyline stuff happens after the show

Okay, because I love wrestling for the story. I was talking to a friend about how I don't get the Riddle hype, so he sent me some of his matches, and I think the reason I don't like him is that he's just a wrestler

Like Tanahashi even in a win win over Minoru Suzuki, but not after Minoru destroyed his legs. Tana struggled for the next couple of matches because of the injuries

And there's a little more Western influence right now too, with the president stepping out to stop a cheating heel faction

Right, and he couldn't hit the High Fly Flow as well

Watch Okada vs Tanahashi and it will remind you of Piper vs Bret at one of the Wrestlemanias

exactly and you don't have to speak Japanese to understand it.. well there are English translations and commentators, but you really don't need tem

Okada lost the championship and seems lost. Guys like Zach Sabre Jr. have unique styles that when you look at cards, it's easy to wonder how someone would escape and fight back against a littany of submission holds
