I think if we were to make lists, it should be North American style because a lot us aren't familiar with lucha or puro IMHO.

Shawn was as good as them. He was athletic. He knew how to mat wrestle and fly. And even brawl when he got pissed. He always got the crowd excited. I don't remember (I've seen Steamboats matches) the crowd marking when Steamboat came out or when he won

You watch him winning the NWA World title from Flair in 89 and tell me the crowd wasn't marking out and I'll call you a liar.

I seem to remember them popping pretty huge when he beat Savage at WM III.

Also, to insinuate HBK was as good as Terry Funk is laughable at best.

What the fuck are you talking about? Terry Funk didn't even start wrestling hardcore matches until he'd already proven himself as one of the GOAT's in twenty-plus years worth of technical matches. What you don't know about wrestling could seriously fill a book. As far as the George Steele comment goes, I see no reason why that takes the pop away from Steamboat, who actually won the match.
