TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs

Payback's A Bitch

T.L.C. kicked off the show with an ECW Title match, a match made two weeks ago by ECW General Manager, Tiffany where ECW Champion, Christian will face three former ECW champion in all three different kind of matches. A surprise revelation of a love affair gone bad between the champion and the boss was made public in an episode of The Abraham Washington Show after an investigative report by Washington himself a week later. Christian then came clean about the situation as GM Tiffany denied that the match was in no way revenge on Cage.

A match firmly stacked against the champion, Christian first saw him facing "The All American-American" Jack Swagger in a table match. Swagger dominated the match with his techinical skills and power advantage but the savy, Christian came out on top, when Swagger attempted a running powerslam into a table set up in the corner but Cage escaped out of the move of the last second, scaling the back of Swagger and using the former collegiate star's momentum against him as Swagger breaks the table in half. Looking worse for wear, Cage waited for his second challenger.

The second challenger ended up being the ECW original, Tommy Dreamer, who came donw to the ring holding a chair. Much to the shock of everyone, Dreamer started off the match quickly with a haymaker chair shot at Christian that easily missed. Cage then countered quickly with a kick to the gut, causing Dreamer to drop the chair and then hit the Killswitch on the chair for the quick win.

As Christian awaited his third opponent, an upset Dreamer recovered from the finisher. The seeking revenge for the embarrassing loss, Dreamer picked up the steel chair and send a thundering shot to the back of Cage's skull. As the champion laid their unconcious with Dreamer standing over him, music hit as his third opponent, CM Punk rushed out with Luke Gallows following him. Gallows grabbed a steel ladder from ringside and threw it to Punk in the ring. After a brief staredown between Punk and Dreamer, Dreamer left the ring as Punk picked up the weaken Cage and connected with the GTS, climbed the ladder and unhooked the title. Punk and Gallows celebrated the victory as Dreamer watched from the ramp with a smile on his face.

Wisdom Overcomes Muscle

In the second match of the evening, John Morrison put his I-C championship on the line against Mike Knox in a typical match. Weekly surprise attacks by Knox, that garnered the attention of the champion ending up being for naught as Morrison came out on top after hitting the Starship Pain for the win. As Knox layed flat in the ring, the champ looked relieved that this challenge was finally behind him. The camera caught a shot of Diva Champion, Melina on the ramp applauding her former client for his victory. As Morrison joined her on the ramp, the reunion was cut short as Morrison's former tag team partner, The Miz arrived on the scene. He told Morrison it was now time to watch a real champion work as he swayed to the ring for his match.

He Is Awwwwesome!!!

As Morrison and Melina laughed at Miz's comment, the United States Champion challenger, Evan Bourne made his way to the ring, shaking hands with Morrison on his way out. Bourne, was on a roll, given the shot by RAW Guest Host, Jesse Ventura after beating Miz in a non-title bout. A regular match, saw Miz survive the high-flying Bourne, catching him the Bone-Crushing Finale after a missed Air Bourne attempt. After the victory, Miz continued to run his mouth on Morrison, who finally had heard enough and started to make his way to the ring. This left Melina alone on the ramp as she was blindsided out-of-nowhere by the return of Maryse. Morrison ended his charge to the ring and came to the rescue of Melina. Morrison carried Melina to the back as Maryse made her to the ring. Marsye and The Miz kissed in the middle of the ring to the shock and disgust of everybody in attendance.

Are U Ready?

Degeneartion-X came out to loudest ovation of the night as HBK and Triple H took their usual 10 minute ritual before the Unified Tag Team Champions, Jerishow, emerged from the back to finally end the war of words the past few weeks. In a steel chair match, the two teams battled in a classic as Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels put on quite a show. What was thought to be the end, Jericho gained the victory after the referee didn't see Michaels' left leg under the ring rope after a Codebreaker. Jerishow celebrated the win as D-X was visibly upset with the loss when WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon came out and showed the video. He restarted the match that saw Triple H escape a chokeslam and counter with a Pedigree and the win as D-X finally became tag team champions.

Later in the night, D-X offered their thanks to Vince, who simply told them to remember what he just did. Confused by the comment, D-X shook it off and the celebration kept on going as Hornswoggle, Kelly Kelly and others came in for the party,

WTF?

The next match up the evening saw the long arrival of World Champion, Undertaker, in it's full effect with the smoke and the druids as the fans didn't mind at all as they went crazy for the Dead Man. His challenger, "The Animal" Batista stalked his way to the ring for the match that was changed from a full fledged TLC match to a regular one after Batista claimed he wanted "no excuses" when he defeated the champion.

Two of the biggest men on the Smackdown roster slugged away in the middle of the ring each delivering moves that the other will feel for weeks. After knocking Undertaker to the floor after his attempt at "Old School" Batista looked on his way to victory as the crowd went wild as Rey Mysterio charged to the ring.

Mysterio, who had been missing since Batista's attack on Survivor Series was enough to distract Batista from his attempt at a "Batista Bomb" and allowed Undertaker to catch Big Dave with a chokeslam. As Mysterio cheered him on from the outside, Taker set up Batista for the "Tombstone" but a last ditch effort by a Batista shoulder block, knocked Taker in the ring corner but in the process also knocked down the ramp. As Taker staggered out of the corner, Batista lifted him up for the Batista Bomb but somehow Taker reversed in on the way down in the Hell's Gate. Batista tapped out but with the referee being down it was useless. The crowd roared as Rey Mysterio climbed in the ring but instead of reviving the referee, Mysterio hits a baseball slide on the Taker breaking the hold. As Undertaker stared down little Rey, he didn't realize the recovering Batista who hit a spear as Taker turned around. Rey revived the ref who rolled over and made the count.

Batista and Rey escape the ring with the title as Undertaker, raises up from the "dead" and looks rightfully pissed. Later on the show, Josh Matthews gets an interview with the two, who reveal the Survivor Series after-match attack was the back-up plan in case they both lost to the Undertaker. They announce once again they are best friends and will be forever.

Girls Just Want To Have Fun Too!!

The surprise brand shift of Micke James sparked a feud when she showed up on Smackdown with Women's Champion, Michelle McCool. McCool and new sidekick, Layla's insults of "Piggy" James towards the newest Smackdown Diva ended up with the a ladder match challenge at TLC. James told the champion that since she thought James was on the plus-size, she shouldn't have a problem beating her up a ladder. Despite the concerns of Layla, McCool agreed to the match.

James had his way with the champion and Layla when she butted into the match. The crowd went wild as James drove McCool into the mat with her DDT finisher and set up the ladder. She was stopped in her effort as Beth Phoenix's music hit as the "Glamazon" sauntered to the ring with Rosa Mendes following her. The two attacked James as the referee looked on unable to call a DQ due to the nature of the match. Layla applauded their efforts as she yelled at McCool to get up in the ring. Layla went to hug Rosa Mendes, who then floored her with a clothesline. Beth then entered the ring and picked up the champion and delivered a "Glam Slam" and set up the ladder herself. She unhooked the title and held up over her head in her signature pose. She leaves the ring with the title as the referee looks confused on what just happened.

Stepping Up To The Plate

RAW Guest Host, Jesse Ventura's, Breakthrough Battle Royal set up the next match as the winner of the challenge, Sheamus garnered himself a title shot against John Cena. Many thought that Sheamus had no chance in the table title match. Sheamus came out as the crowd moreless wasn't paying attention waiting for the certain Cena win. Cena came out to the roar of his fans as he was the only one that looked serious other then Sheamus.

Sheamus showed he belong, hanging with the champ every step of the way. The crowd gasped as Sheamus looked ready to drive Cena through the table with an elbow drop from the second rope but was relieved as the champ rolled out of harm's way. Sheamus kept control before missing a running big boot and then quickly found himself in the Attitude Adjustment and droven through the table as the fans went wild. Cena celebrated his victory to the roar of the capacity crowd as didn't notice the two men that entered the ring.

Cena was taken down by a clothseline by ECW Superstar, Paul Burchill as Smackdown Superstar, Drew McIntyre connected with a series of boots. The crowd booed as Sheamus recovered and they set up a table as Sheamus hit the Celtic Cross, sending Cena's body through the wood. The three assemble another table as they look to send the champion to more pain but was stopped in the tracks by none other then Randy Orton. Orton stood over Cena daring the three to come closer. Finally the trio decided to back off as Orton stared from the ring as they made their trip to the back. Finally Cena arouse from the beating and saw his rescuer. Cena looked confused as Orton left the ring without saying a word.

Lawler and Cole questioned Orton's intentions as the pay per view drew to an end.

I have seen this on another board that you post on and have seen I think the first Raw show that you posted, I may have gotten mixed up with another thread of yours but it was top notch.

I do wish you the best of luck, most of your threads are unique in their own way and their own direction, it will be interesting to see how you take WWE; TLC and onwards.

Ill be popping in every so-often to see how this turns out.

The End Of An Era

RAW Guest Host, Dennis Miller, kicked off the night with jokes aiming at various WWE Superstars but one, Chris Jericho, took exception to his antics. Jericho came out and addressed to the fans his concerns over special favors made by WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon, towards Degeneration X last night at the TLC pay per view. He questions the amount of times that Vince himself has saw the reason to restart matches and slyly points to the fact that Triple H must be to married to someone that has Vince's ear. Miller calls Jericho a crybaby and as Jericho snatch up the star, Vince himself makes an appearance.

Vince tells Jericho that he's the boss and what he says go and if Jericho doesn't like it, he can go back to VH1 and tells stupid jokes or go and play empty bars with his band. Jericho is speechless as Vince banishes him to the back like a scolded dog. Vince then tells Dennis to liven up and announce the first winner of the 2010 Slammy Awards. The award to kick off the show is tag team of the year. Curiously the team of JeriShow is nominated with D-X, Legacy and Cryme Time. The fans are shocked as Legacy takes home the award.

Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes show up from the back and thanks Randy Orton for the chance to prove themselves. They then turn to Vince and tell him that hopefully he can forget what happened earlier in the year and Vince just smiles and shakes his head. Legacy finishes their insults to the fans during their speech and turns with the award to the back but is stopped by Vince. They are curious as what Vince is doing as he grabbed the mic. Then proudly, Vince told the duo that they have been shipped out to the SMACKDOWN Brand in a trade made tonight by the GMs. Rhodes and Dibiase are lost as they head to the back.

Later that evening. Legacy appears for the final time as surpsingly Orton gives each some well-guided advice and wishes them luck on their new show. The three shake hands and leave the locker room for the last time as a group.

Not This Time

After they typical Hornswoggle VS Chavo match, Dennis Miller gave the next award which was the WWE Diva of the Year and the candidates where Mickie James, Melina, Michelle McCool and Maryse. When Miller opened the envelope he strangely announced the winner as Jillian Hall. Jillian came out singing to the boos of the crowd as Dennis tried to explain that there must be a problem since she was never even a nominee. Finally Big Dick Johnson came jirating out with the real envelope and chased Jillian off the stage. Then Dennis announced the real winner as Melina, the reiging WWE Divas Champion.

Melina came out with Intercontinatal Champion, John Morrison accompanying her and thanked all her fans. The she quickly turned around and nailed Maryse, who tried to sneak attack her again. Melina pounded away on Maryse until finally Morrison pulled her off before she inflicted serious damage. Melina then told her that next week she won't have to attack her from behind because they will be facing off the in the ring. Maryse smiled, happy with the idea as she rubbed the side of her face.

I Want You

The next award gaven out was the WWE Breakthrough Star of the Year as Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Evan Bourne and The Miz was nominated and Miz walked out with the win. The Miz thanked everyone and gave a special shou out to his special someone, who is having a rough night so far, Maryse. The crowd booed this tender moment as Miz then turned his attention towards Morrison and layed down a challenge of his own for next week for the two former parnters to duke out in the ring, title vs title. Morrison came out and accepted as he was dressed for competition as we learned that he will be defending his title live tonight on RAW versus Rey Mysterio Jr.

It was an odd moment in the WWE to hear boos at a Rey entrance but Rey backed them up as he took every short cut to win the title but Morrison withstood each one. As Rey showcawsed a new move in his arsenal the figure four leg lock, Melina made her way down to the ring to show her support. Morrison rallied behind his woman being there and quickly staged a comeback. He hit an enzuiguri and followed up with the Moonlight Drive. As this time Maryse once again appeared and made a run at Melina. Morrison pointed her out in the nick of time as the two DIVAS start brawling on the outside. The referee turned his attention there as Morrison prepared himself for the Starship Pain but as he jumped on the ropes, The Miz jumped up from his ringside seat, where he watched the match. and hit Morrison aside the head with his newly won Slammy. Morrison fell off the ropes putting himself in perfect postion for the 619. Rey got up and hit the move and made the pin to become Intercontinental Champion once again.

The Miz and Maryse escaped the ring as Melina checked on Morrison as Rey celebrated. Then the arena grew dark as the gong and the lightning of the Undertaker struck throughout the arena as Taker showed up on the ramp. Miz and Maryse stepped off the ramp to avoid the Deadman as Mysterio stood in the ring looking ready for a fight but as soon as the Taker climbed on the apron. Mysterio escaped through the ropes and aroudn the ring and up the ramp. The Taker reached for the sky and rolled his eyes in the back of his head as Mysterio stared in disbelief at the site.

An irate Morrison was seen later on the back, looking for The Miz when he ran into SMACKDOWN General Manager, Ted E. Long. Long said it was hard luck losing the Intercontiental Title tonight and understood why he was looking for The Miz and that is the reason Morrison has been included in the blockbuster trade that will send him to RAW full-time. Morrison is first upset but then realizing he could get revenge and be with Melina once agin, Morrison was more then happy with the move.

Clockwork Orange hits the WWE

Miller's next award presentation was the Oh My Moment of the Year and the winner was Santina winning the Miss Wrestlemania award at Wrestlemania 25. Santino, Santina's brother came out to accept the award but was jumped from behind by the same group that attacked John Cena at the end of TLC the night before. Sheamus, Drew McIntyre and Paul Burchill beat the living pulp out of Marella leaving him unconcious on the ramp as Miller backed off at the site of the group. Sheamus pulled out a baseball bat as the other two grabbed Santino's arm. Sheamus unmercingly crushes the arm of Santino as everybody in the arena gasped at the site of an arm now clearly broken in almost half Dressed in old clothing and wearing eye-liner the three was really sporting a different look then their normal gimmicks. They started talking in odd rhymes and laughing and laughing sadistically as they described their actions with Santino, tonight and Cena at TLC. They preached that they have seen the light of Ultraviolence, that was shown to them by a great man. They were shown the stereotype of European wrestlers portrayed by wrestling and that they where sick and tired of being cast like that. It was time to for the world to see what they where all about really and introduced the man that showed them their new way.

A man came out with a solid build as once instantly recognized by hardcore wrestling fans as former Ring of Honor star, Nigel McGuinness. He was wearing a black hat and sporting the same outfit and makeup as the the other three. The three stepped back at his presence as he stood in front of the mic. He introduced himself as Alex De Great and many people picked up now the Clockwork Orange influence. He then proclaimed as one group dies another rises as that "The Droogs" will make everyone on RAW feel their pain. The four weirdly stroll off to the back, leaving many people feeling uneasy. We are then informed that Burchill and McIntyre was traded to RAW from their respecitve brands in the blockbuster trade the included among others Legacy and Morrison earlier.

Soon after the four was found backstage by an uneasy Josh Matthews and was informed that Paul Burchill will be facing John Cena later that night in a non-title match. After a brief discussion with his leader, Burchill smiled and said he thought he would enjoy it a response that made people shudder.

Walking Out Isn't Hard To Do

After his tirade earlier, Chris Jericho team of "JeriShow" was put in a match with MVP & Mark Henry. The former champions seemed distraught about losing their precious titles as they really looked terrible in the matchup, disagreeing about everything. After Jericho's constant complaints The Big Show had enough and left Jericho to fend for himself. Big Show walked up the ramp as Jericho shouted orders for him to return. Finally Jericho realized the situation and turned around to get caught by Mark Henry and the World's Strongest Slam for the loss.

An irate Jericho recovered and told the fans that he was sick of tag team action because he couldn't count on his parnters. He insulted Big Show for getting pinned at TLC and losing the titles and then at Edge for getting hurt in the first place forcing him to pick someone like Show. He then said last year, he was the WWE Superstar of the Year and this year was losing a mid-card match. A ticked off Jericho then dropped the mic and headed to the ring.

What? No Rematch

We saw Christian Cage talking to his ex-girlfriend and ECW GM Tiffany about his ECW Title rematch with CM Punk. Tiffany informed him that it wasn't going to happed as Cage was included in the blockbuster trade and he was now a member of the SMACKDOWN brand. Cage was angry and shouting at Tiffany and didn't see the pissed off Jericho walking donw the hall.

Jericho blindsided Cage and stomped away, yelling at him about being brothers or friends or whatever he is with Edge. After a quick pounding of the face, Jericho told Christian to deliver that message to Edge, wherever he is. Tiffany was all smiles as she gave Cage a swift kick as we walked off herself.

The Straight Edge Movement

Dennis Miller came out and gave away the Shocker of the Year award and it went to the retirement of Jeff Hardy by CM Punk. Punk, the new ECW champion, arrived to the scene with his project, Luke Gallows. Punk told everybody he owed it all to his Straight Edge lifestyle because that was what made him better then a loser like Jeff Hardy. He then went on to talk about his mission to "clean up" ECW and make fans proud of the brand once again. He then introduced the man that he owed all to and that was Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer showed up to the boos of the crowd and shook hands with Gallows and then Punk becomng the thrid amigo to the group, Then Vince McMahon himself came out and told Punk that he was proud of his achieviments so far in his career but informed Punk that even though this was RAW, that the ECW title would be on the line later. Punk looked worried as his opponent was a mystery.

The Champ Is Here

The new group, The Droogs, slinked their way to ringside for the match-up with their new enemy, John Cena. Burchill entered the ring as the other three positioned themselves around the square. Cena came roaring out in a dead sprint and into the ring and quickly attacked Burchill. The match was looking to end quickly but as Cena started the " U Can't C Me", the Droogs stormed the ring. Cena was on his toes and his right hands kept the group at bay as the referee called for the bell. After a brief meeting between the four they finally had a game plan and tried to enter the ring again. The crowd roared as Orton ran down and slid his way under the ropes. Deciding to trust him, Cena and Orton stood their back to back and waited for the attack. Soon the Droogs entered the ring as Orton and Cena had enough to hold them back. Finally, Alex surrendered and called his troops to the back clearly not expecting the help of Orton. After their vanishing, Cena offered his hand to Orton to shake but Orton turned his back and left the ring, rebuffing the offer.

A Masterpiece Recognized

The next Slammy was the match of the year and was won by Shawn Michaels and Undertaker for Wrestlemania 25. HBK came out to acccept the trophy and told the world that he hoped to win the award next year for another Wrestlemania classic possibly a rematch with the Undertaker. This claim caused his partner, HHHH to arrive. Triple H jokingly asked about it saying that they just won the Tag Team titles and he is already talking about Wrestlemania like they where going to lose them already. HBK told him he was putting words into his mouth but Triple H ended it saying he was just messing with him and told him he can do what he wants because if Triple H would say be the one to challenge CM Punk later tonight for the ECW title, that The Game would jump at the chance to add more gold. Both seemed happy with each other intentions but a little bit of uneasiness was evident by both men.

Holy Shit!!!!

CM Punk started to the ring with his group with him, Luke Gallows and the newest addition Tommy Dreamer but was stopped by Guest Host, Dennis Miller, who said there was enough chaos tonight and barred the two to the back. After Punk claimed that Miller had no power over an ECW Superstar, Vince McMahon returned to back him up and ordered Punk to the ring. As Punk awaited his opponent patiently the crowd readied themselves for Triple H but Vince said that the fans and CM Punk had to wait for the announcement of the WWE Superstar of the Year for 2009. As he opened the envelope, McMahon chuckled when he said that it must have been fate tonight because the Superstar of the Year was in fact, CM Punk's opponent tonight and that man was JEFF HARDY. As Hardy came out, the roof of the arena nearly blew off as Punk grabbed the mic. He informed Punk that he retired Hardy and that Hardy couldn't be his challenger. Then Vince reminded Punk that he retired Hardy from the WWE not ECW and that is where Punk is now champion at. The crowd went wild as the two started throwing down in the ring.

Punk quickly learned that he had his hands full as Hardy was out for not just the ECW title but for revenge for his banishment from the WWE. A despereate Punk resorted to hitting a low blow on Hardy, unseen by the ref and tried to end the match with GTS but as he lifted Hardy on his shoulders, Hardy shimmered down his back and sunset flipped him over for the win and the title.

Hardy celebrated to the roar of the crowd as Vince proclaimed that it wasn't over as CM Punk was the final piece to the blockbuster trade and was now along with Luke Gallows permament members of the ECW roster.

Results from RAW

Hornswoggle defeats Chavo Guerrero
John Cena defeats Paul Burchill by DQ

I'm sorry, but since ECW hasn't been established as a decent, credible brand, not only having CM Punk as the champion, but to condemn such a big feud as CM Punk vs Jeff Hardy to ECW just seems bad. I laughed at Triple H talking he might be interested in winning the ECW belt. You need to work on the brand to be able to pull off things like that.

The draft itself seemed to me too convenient. Besides, Teddy Long trading John Morrison for the sake of it to Raw made him seem a horrible GM. BTW, Legacy winning the Slammy was a bad decision.

You do have a great thing going with the Droogs against Cena/Orton. Orton's character is looking very interesting and the stable itself is also looking great. You established greatly Nigel McGuiness in his debut.

Rey Mysterio needs to do something to cement himself as a heel. I'm thinking both him and Batista are heels, but I have my doubts, and I'm assuming I shouldn't have. Have Rey and Batista rape Taker on Smackdown with a vicious beatdown please.

Morrison/Melina vs Miz and Maryse seems like a nice feud and was developed nicely throughout the show, however I can't get into it. It might be just me though, because I do recognize the feud was pushed during the entire show.

Jericho seemed to random tbh. You had 3 weeks of character evolution in just one show, as he went from wanting the tag champions, from being mad at Big Show, to start building up a feud with Edge.

Overall, it was a good show, accomplishing what you wanted, developing your storylines. However, at least for me, how quickly you went with Jericho, the over the top attention ECW got out of the blue and the fact I can't get into Morrison/Miz brought it down a little for me.
