If we're going to start bringing up embarrassing WCW runs, we might as well just start naming off any random people on their roster over the last 4-5 years.

The new WWE fanbase will not give this guy a pop. I'm just saying this out of reality. But perhaps this idea can bring some of the oldschool fanbase back? I like the idea as long as he is good on the mic.

Don't see the old fanbase caring if he doesn't have the pads and spikes. I also think it'd be better if they were fighting over one brand as opposed whats currently happening.

Not really that keen to see this happen. Animal isn't relevant anymore, some younger fans may remember him teaming with that weird guy Heidenreich. Never remember him being good on the mic either so I don't think that he could pull it off. Give me Foley or Regal or Steph as GM instead.

Face Regal running for Smackdown GM would be awesome.

I'm not really hyped about this. Like others have said, only a certain segment of the audience will recognise him and he won't get much of a pop. The only way to familiarise him would be to have his past accomplishments and legacy shoved down our thoughts and I'll just end up having even more reasons to hate Michael Cole for things that aren't really his fault, and even then I doubt many people will give a shit honestly.

I mean hell, Road Dogg and Grandmaster Sexay's return pops were non-existent (although Road Dogg's was decent at RR) and they were relevant back in the Attitude Era, Animal even further back.

The angle may be interesting, but it will flop.

I wouldn't mind seeing Animal as the Smackdown GM, the guy has the mouth to do alot of talking and a HoF as a GM is always interesting to me.

Seems to be weird wrestling fans nowadays don't seem to give a shit about anything that happened before 99 even some that were around before then. Maybe it's just because so many guys from that period are gone and really don't make appearances like the guys from the 80's. I think the only way you could really make this work would be to re introduce him as Animal (what would that reason be?) for a month or two before ever hoping to have him go against Ace. Besides the fact that we've seen the angle numerous times but with random McMahons instead of Lauranitis's

It is like normal sports fans, they know about the current team members and maybe the big stars of the past and that is it. Only the minority are so dedicated that they know most of the former players. The Road Warriors were around a long time ago and most kids these days will only know the huge names from the past that are mentioned frequently on tv.

Be cool to have someone different than a guy who has virtually been the GM of SD since 2004.
