I'm okay with this. Tyson Kidd has incredible ring talent and I love watching him but he's just not at all appealing as plain, regular Tyson Kidd. A character hook is all he's ever really needed.

I'm okay with the idea of a lucha stable sans Rey. Sin Cara, Kidd, El Local, and Kalisto

He's still around? That's good. He's great in the ring, but he reminds me of Lance Storm in a lot of ways. If they'd just give him a character ANY character, he'd maybe even be on TV again.

They need to change Superstars all together. Slap a mask on Gabriel, Hawkins, and a bunch of other guys not doing shit and create a lucha show. You'll never create another Rey, so do it by surplus and numbers over, quantity in place of quality

Hard to "change" a gimmick when he never had one. Don't see what slapping a mask on him will do unless they try a Owen Hart Blue Blazer type thing.

I'm basically echoing everyone else's thoughts here, but I feel for Kidd. Wait, did anyone else say that? I think I'm good.

It's a shame, because we all know how gifted this guy is in the ring. Not only that, but he comes fully equipped with the prestigious training background and an overcoming adversity story. I feel like people have been less set up in those categories with equal charisma and still made it. If this is his only shot at being on the main roster, then go for it. I'm sure he and Natty are grateful for the opportunity, especially with the Spring cleaning cuts passing them by. Then again, they were probably safe because of Total Divas anyway.

It's funny... they're trying to give Sami Zayn the old Tyson Kidd gimmick... and now they're trying to give Tyson Kidd the old Sami Zayn gimmick...

What was Tyson Kidds old gimmick? He was just a guy who wrestles, Sami Zayn dresses like a hipster and uses hi last name as puns.....was that Kidds gimmick?

Just make Kidd a henpecked husband and for a team with Bryan, have both their wives at ringside to pound on the mat and scream like Heyman with an 03 Brock.

Tyson Kidd's old gimmick was a Canadian purebred who wrestled all over the world in excellent matches with amazing spots........

That's not a gimmick.

Just being a wrestler is a gimmick, that was Bret Harts. But no commentary team will ever try explain that a guy does spots.

^Spots is just a damn word being used in place of another word. Tyson Kidd was known for abstract submissions locked in out of nowhere... just replace that with Zayn's high-flying and it's the same premise.

Mat wrestling and high flying are the same thing now? :TI:

Wrestling style is not a gimmick, if that is all that identifies them, then no wonder it didn't get over.

He desperately needs a gimmick, he's one of those guys that WWE has no shortage of lately that are great in the ring but suck all excitement out of the room in every other aspect.

I can think of like 2 counting Kidd that are anywhere near as good in the ring, and also anywhere near as boring elsewhere, so I don't see how there's an abundance of that. Most people seem to be kind of in the middle of the spectrum, decent in the ring and decent elsewhere. I'm sure you're counting Bryan in that too, so to save three pages of arguing lets just agree to disagree there?
