To mark the 25th anniversary of his debut, WWE will be celebrating Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson throughout the month of November.

"Get ready to salute @therock all month long in honor of the 25-year anniversary of his WWE debut. #Rock25," WWE announced today.

The celebration of "The Rock Month" will include a Best of The Rock collection being uploaded to Peacock/WWE Network this Tuesday as part of the Best of WWE series. Further details on what other Rock-themed content will be debuting this month haven't been announced.

The Rock made his televised WWE in-ring debut when Survivor Series took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City in November 1996. Using the name Rocky Maivia, The Rock teamed with Jake Roberts, Marc Mero & Barry Windham to defeat Jerry Lawler, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Goldust & Crush in a four-on-four Survivor Series elimination match.

WWE hoped to have The Rock appear at this year's Survivor Series in Brooklyn in celebration of the anniversary of his debut, but that won't be happening because he'll be in Australia filming "Young Rock" at the time. Dave Meltzer wrote about the situation:
The idea of an appearance/angle from Dwayne Johnson on what would have been the 25th anniversary of his WWF main promotion televised debut at this year’s Survivor Series are out the window. Technically, Johnson debuted with WWE earlier in 1996 in dark matches and then worked in Memphis for several months for Jarrett Promotions when WWE used them for developmental talent. But his WWF television debut in a match was a heavily pushed win at the 1996 Survivor Series. This had been talked about for a long time, but it fell through since Johnson had other commitments that have him in Australia for the filming of the second season of 'Young Rock' on the day of the show. Because of quarantine regulations, it’s going to be impossible to go back and forth so those involved with the show, including Johnson, will be in Australia from a few weeks from now until late January. It was figured if he did appear that it would bring a great boost to the slower than expected ticket sales. There are people involved with the show already quarantining in Australia right now.
