WS Movie Log Discussion Thread

I want the other thread to be neat and tidy, the other one ended being kind of a mess since everyone kept posting. This is to DISCUSS what you have added to your log, please only post your movie log in the other thread. I wanna know what everyone’s tastes and recommendations are but I really don’t want to scroll through a whole bunch of posts to see them.

Discuss away.

Can I talk about how great the first two Terminator Movies are for a moment. I love the Action, the Story, even the Effects which to us now looks wonky, but they were great for it's time. The way the films are shot especially the first just bravo. Look at the opening moments of the first film you see the T-800 kill and you see what he can do right off the bat. If you want to get back to what make the Terminator great you have to make us fear a Terminator again like you did in the first two films. Start with that someone, but honestly at this point why not do a Series with Kyle Reese in the future or something to that effect so can tell what you wanna tell and not be put into a hole of only 2 hours or so.

Finally watched Super 8 tonight and I really enjoyed it.

Also watched my first 2021 new release a horror movie called The Call. Which felt like a January horror release. In other words "It

I just watched The Seven Year Itch with Marilyn Monroe, and I must say that she was a total smoke show in this film while also charming and delightful.

Man what a Doc on Tiger that finished it's Part 2 tonight. They went into the Rise and Fall and then the Rise again of Tiger Woods. They got deep into the Cheating, Escorts/Relationships, and his Drug and Alcohol Use. Tiger's Mother and Father put their Son on a Chair above everyone else in this World and with fame and fortune he lost his way. Happy to see him turn the corner since 2010 and now having 15 Major Championships he 's 3 away from Jack Nicklaus.

I watched Underwater with Kristen Stewart and it is much better than I expected it to be tbh, plus Kristen Stewart is pretty good in the film.

Finally caught up with The Founder last night. Thought it was great. Its the perfect role for Michael Keaton, but was cast really well throughout. Its a intriuging and quirky film about the growth of McDonalds as a business, by the end its a more human and sad film.

Straight outta Compton, only watched it once at the movies a while back. Got that on my list for time off today.

The Trap starring Mike Epps and Clifford "T.I" Harris, seen the preview, looks funny . Gonna watch sometime today.

Does it have to be just movies @Team Player mitch?

Watched this last night and really enjoyed it. Its a really sharp, well played satire, with some good twists and decent tension. Stylish also with a nice score. Rosamund Pike is great, best role since Gone Girl and strong supporting cast too.

Hidden Blaze

The Wanted Man
I’m about to watch over the next few days or so, all of Miz’s Marine movies.

Re-watched Shallow Grave the other night. It was Danny Boyle's first movie and was made for very little money. Its a good example of how to make a really effective indie movie, largely all set in the one flat and with a slow build and proper characters. I think its just as good as Trainspotting if not a bit better. Check it out if you haven't.

Rewatched Point Break last night and still love it. Such a entertaining rush of a movie. Nicely cast too. Shame Swayze didn't play more villains. Great music and visuals too. The remake can take a running jump :p Ray Winstone taking the Busey role is a crime!
