Wrestling Trading Card Thread

So I went to this card show and found this guy, not really knowing how much he had or what he had.
He had a binder with about 30-35 WWE Topps Chrome 2006. The Rock, Hogan, Flair were there, but there was only one refractor, and I could buy the entire base set for maybe 40-60 bucks. What he had there weas likely worth about 25.
Then he had a box full of WWF Vintage and some WCW stuff. Lots of just worthless cards that I thought would be cool to have in my collection. I asked what he was thinking for these, and he said $225. Two-hundred twenty-five, which is wayyyyy over what they're worth.
I looked through again and tried to see if there was something I missed. I thought their value in total was around 40 bucks.
I went back and said "incomplete binders mostly go for like $25, and complete base sets go for around 60 tops. I could do 50 for all of these. He declined that pretty quick saying he could sell the Rock card he had for more than that, and the only way that happens is if it PSA 10's -maybe-.
For a guy who just said they'd been sitting in a tub and he was trying to get rid of it, that was a bit of a downer, but there was zero chance I was paying that much for some stuff he likely pulled out of a $5 box he decided to just get for fun.

This is probably my favorite wrestling card currently.
I have some other autos as well, mostly NXT ones from this era. A Bayley one, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, etc.
Really excited for AEW's debut with cards. I saw last week that they signed an exclusive deal with Upper Deck.

Yeah, I still have cards from all sports pretty much. I don't buy much at all anymore though because of how expensive stuff has gotten over the past year or two.
Yeah the card biz has boomed like a mother. Was wondering how that affected your collecting.

Those are sick. The WWF Classic sets have really held their value.
I acquired some 85 Hogans which are known as the hot grail of wrestling cards. Also i. that set were a lot of 1990 Classic which is a sought after set. Don’t have them yet, so I’m excited to see what all is there
