From a business standpoint this was right where it needs to be. Unless you can figure out how to have the Smackdown before the Super Bowl in the same city as the event every year. The only reason they were in Vegas was the Super Bowl.

I honestly think they heard and listened and pivoted as early as Monday night. Because I honestly think all that stuff with Drew was clearly them setting up the Seth direction for after this conference.

Everyone gets the main event
Rock gets his payday from his TKO deal
Cody beats Roman to win the title, finishes his story
Rock can then be pissed at Roman for letting his family down, build to that match again whether it be at SummerSlam or Mania again next year.
I guess it helps to lighten the workload on both Rock & Seth for different reasons.

Oh 100% don't think they have him lose after any stupid Bruno reign, or even the Hogan one. Last year I was sure Cody was losing, because of 1000 days being to good to pass up, but this year is Cody's time.
