That being said, I may have to triple/quadruple the enemy's health instead of double it since I see the flaw in what would happen if everyone just spams kicks like Jeff.

That's the fun in hosting this game, I can see what flaws are in the hosting and fix it for the next encounter. I suppose consider this a tutorial fight for everyone.

You can use up to six actions. Firing your weapon will cost two action slots.

Did you not look at the combat tutorial, if I may ask?

Preparing attacks only work for one turn.

So it'd be in your best interest to Prepare Attack before firing, to make it land 100% of the time.
