Will women ever main event WrestleMania?

Solidus1

So this year we've seen...

- Women main event a PPV in NXT
- Women main event Hell in a Cell
- Women in their first ever Hell in a Cell match

as well as them being in iron man matches, tables matches and more.
WWE is finally taking women's wrestling seriously and the women are making us take it seriously with the great matches they put on. Gone are the days of cat fights in bikinis...
Will they ever main event WrestleMania? Who's it likely to feature?

Side note: Charlotte vs Sasha vs Becky could have easily replaced Reigns/HHH as the main event at WM32

Well the main event should always go to the Rumble Winner in my opinion.

But I know this always hasn't been the case.

But no I don't think it'll ever happen

¡Tranquilo!

World's Finest Failure.
That's the next logical step for the division to head in. Don't see it happening anytime soon, maybe not for another 3-4 years unless there's some big boom in interest for the Women's division in 2017, whether that be in creative or a result of fan backlash ( Like the "Yes" movement).

I agree that triple threat should have replaced it as the main event. Let the crowd go home a little more happy than they did after roman won.

I'd like to see it happen one day. Atleast once. Because like you said they've brought women's wrestling miles from where it used to be. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the old days aswell lol, but it's a new time where women are much more equal than they used to be in the wwe. And letting them headline wrestlemania would just be the icing on the cake. Even if it's just 1 time.

I don't think it will. But anything can happen in the WWE and with the way they're really pushing the women's division, its more possible than ever. If it doesn't happen within the next 3 years, however, I have a feeling it'll never happen.

Okay...so...I have a bit to say here...

I would love to see the ladies main event Wrestlemania...but...
I think we are a few years off from that yet.

It all depends if a feud or situation can be built up to the level
needed to justify a Wrestlemania main event...So...let me bounce
a couple ideas off the nearest wall and see if anyone catches them.

Idea 1:

Lets say in 3 years WWE announces due to *insert reason here*
the rosters are being merged back together. The 3 shared brand
titles need to be unified to crown three undisputed champions.

Say if (for a change) Bayley and Becky are the Champions at
that time...A Four Horsewomen Fatal Four-way Elimination Match
to unify the belts would be an epic moment and worthy of a WrestleMania
main event...at least it would be in my opinion...because there is
a lot of history around these women and what they've done together
and the battles they have fought against each other.

Idea 2:
Okay...so this one is a bit of a long shot...but hear me out. Lets say
Ronda Rousey signs with the WWE...I know some of you hate the
idea...but she is a big name and there would already be a level of
hype and excitement built into whatever match(es) she would be
involved with.

Lets say hypothetically Stephanie brings Ronda to RAW and the
first promo shown is Ronda apologizing to Stephanie for the
Wrestlemania 31 incident and Thanking her for the opportunity
to compete in the WWE.

Enter Charlotte (who is currently Champion) who confronts Ronda
and explains to her that the WWE ring belongs to her and she will not
back down from a fight. Stephanie simply books the match for say...
the Royal Rumble...Charlotte vs. Ronda in a special enclosed steel cage...
(Remember that point) and after being goaded by Stephanie and Ronda...
Charlotte agrees to put the title on the line.

Sasha & Bayley confront Charlotte in a promo the next week and
attempt to offer their support...but Charlotte states she doesn't
need anyone to help her. Ric Flair also confronts his daughter
and while he understands her desire to stand alone and fight
her own battles...it is different this time...and Ric has called in
a favor. Enter Samoa Joe who offers to train Charlotte for what
will be the fight of her life.

Charlotte is then shown over the next few weeks training with Joe
while Ronda is shown simply stalking around backstage and cutting
several promos on the other female competitors on RAW.

There is also shown to be building tension between Ronda and
Stephanie...but nothing to serious just yet.

A week before the Rumble Nia Jax makes her way to ring and calls
Ronda out. Nia Jax declares that if she beats Ronda in a one on one
match...she gets the title shot at the Royal Rumble cage match.

Ronda (who enters through the crowd) brutally attacks Nia and
has to be called off by Stephanie herself. More tension develops
between the two as Nia is (kayfabe) out for at least three months
with the injuries Ronda inflicted on her.

Its the Royal Rumble cage match (with Stephanie on commentary)
and it starts off fairly evenly with Ronda looking somewhat lost in
the ring while Charlotte uses her reach and "classic Flair tactics" to
keep Ronda off balance as well as displaying some new moves right
out of the Samoa Joe play book. It appears Charlotte may have match
in the bag before Ronda turns the tables with a brutal belly to belly
suplex which is followed by her repeatedly ramming Charlotte face
first into the cage. (Yes...There will be blood)

Sasha, Bayley and Becky Lynch rush to ringside but are shocked
to find there is no door on the cage. Charlotte is trapped inside.

The 3 Horsewomen and the audience watch on in horror as Ronda
toys with Charlotte for a few moments before locking in a brutal arm-bar
which gives her no choice but to submit. The bell is rung but Ronda
won't release the arm-bar as Charlotte is heard screaming in agony
before passing out from the pain.

The enclosed cage in finally lifted with Sasha, Becky & Bayley "forcing"
Ronda to "retreat" from the ring with the RAW Women's title as the EMTs
arrive to attend to Charlotte. Ric Flair is shown hugging his bloodied and
unconscious daughter as Sasha & Bayley restrain a rabid Becky who is
trying to get to Stephanie.

The next night on RAW it is revealed that Charlotte has suffered severe
(Kayfabe) injuries and will miss WrestleMania and her rematch.

Ronda Rousey cuts a promo saying that "this ring" now belongs to her
and she throws an open challenge to any woman in the WWE that she
is due to defend the title at WrestleMania and she needs an opponent.

Stephanie comes out and asks about the cage door. Ronda reveals
that she requested the cage be made without it...and those who made
it were big fans of hers...a few autographs and photos and they were
more than happy remove the door from the design...less work for them right?

Ronda declares that this is what Stephanie wanted...Ronda on top of the
division...millions of people tuning in to see her do what she does best...

Cripple & maim her opponents.

Stephanie announces that at WrestleMania *Insert Number Here* millions
of people will be watching as Ronda will not only defend her newly won title
for the first time...but she will also defend it in the Main Event...in a Triple
Threat Match...against Sasha Banks & Becky Lynch.

And I'm done...

God...what were we talking about again?

Love the first idea, doubt WWE will ever think of something that good.
