Following AEW: Grand Slam, Tony Khan would make a massive announcement during the post-event press conference that would change the entire dynamic of the company going forward. TK would make it clear that after a lot of consideration and risk analysis, he had decided to turn All Elite Wrestling from being an international promotion into a global superpower. He would go on to reveal that he had bought 100% of all the share of the National Wrestling Alliance, with the intention that the NWA would become the parent company for the entire professional wrestling portfolio. He would then explain that under this management group would exist three separate brands: All Elite Wrestling, Ring of Honor as well as revealing he had also become the majority shareholder of Impact Wrestling.
TK would then reveal - that he wanted that each brand could become as successful as possible and so had taken all the valued stars from AEW, Impact and the NWA and drafted them to one of the three brands with this process having taken place behind closed doors. TK would go on to announce that three figureheads had been put in place to run the three brands both on and off-screen:
- Chris Jericho as Ring of Honor's Commissioner
- Mick Foley as Impact Wrestling's General Manager
- Alicia Atout as All Elite Wrestling's Director of Talent Relations
Khan would explain that business would continue as normal moving forward, but that some belts had become vacant due to the moving around of various members of the roster and would end by informing fans that he was very much looking forward to the National Wrestling Alliance once again become the biggest name in professional wrestling.
Speaking quite candidly, Triple H would make it clear that with the 'rejuvenation' of the National Wrestling Alliance he and the rest of the board would be foolish to not respect the fact that the competition had now very much become a very real threat. Hunter would explain that no longer could RAW, Smackdown and NXT be seen at working at three different levels and that all three of them needed to level up and become main brands and exclusive of themselves and that there was no benefit to unified champions, sporadic guest appearances or a lack of brand loyalty. He would reveal that on Friday, a massive draft would take place during the entire show as well as a number of announcements regarding the weekly schedule of the WWE moving forward.
