Weekly Knockout Notes...

Okay...so I've decided to start this thread because I can & because it will
strictly be for observations & discussions about the Impact Knockouts division.

I know there is a main Impact discussion thread...but I feel its better if I keep
my opinions on the Knockouts separate in their own thread.

Also...Please avoid posting spoilers from the Impact tapings. I do not wish to
know what is going to happen.

So...with that said...lets begin...

+ The 3rd of May Edition of Impact 2018 +

+ There was a tiny bit of footage of Rosemary/Su Yung in the "Last Week" video
package...

+ We open with a Kiera Hogan interview...& Tessa Blanchard shows up...& this feels
like the spot Tenille Dashwood should be in. No offense to Tessa of course...I just want
to see Tenille on Impact.

Actually let me rephrase that...I want to see Tenille have matches with Rosemary &
Allie...& the best way for that to happen would be for Tenille to show up on Impact.

+ And now we have a Redemption rematch with Taya Valkyrie vs. Kiera Hogan...and
I'm still undecided on Taya. I just don't "Get" her...I want to...but I can't...
~ Kiera Hogan is the result of Sasha Banks & Naomi doing a "fusion dance"
~ I like her nickname..."The Girl On Fire"
~ Taya has a great body for wrestling...perfect for taking bumps...
~ I think Taya reminds me too much of Natalya...too much talking & posing...
~ That "Curb Stomp" onto the stairs by Kiera was pretty brutal...
~ And Tessa Blanchard comes out...and a "fucked" finish...and I'm sorry...but I
hate this kind of booking...
~ And Tessa puts out the fire...with a Hammerlock DDT? Yeah...I know a guy who does
that move a lot better than you Tessa...
~ Where did Taya go?
~ I'm surprised Tessa is feuding with Kiera...I thought she'd be put straight in a feud with
Allie...

+ And now we move on to the main event...and Yay! Team Demon X Bunny! When
did Allie & Rosemary become "best friends"? I mean its cute & all...but did I miss a
promo or something?
~ Rosemary...why isn't Allie allowed to help? I don't get it...
~ Su Yung is from "Off the Grid" apparently...
~ The commentators "commentate" way too much...
~ Why is Rosemary wearing a sheer singlet under her wrestling attire? I mean its
not important or anything...I just want to know...
~ FEMALE FREAK FIGHT!!!
~ Into the stairs & a chair!
~ And a Panic Switch on the floor already?! WTF?!
~ What the hell is this? Really? We're really doing this already? The casket already?!
~ And Allie makes the save! Maybe? What...I...what is going on?! Why are the Demon
& the Bunny fighting? I am missing something here?
~ Oh Jesus! Who gave Su Yung an army of lame Zombie Brides?
~ And now Rosemary has a kendo stick...and now a misting from Su Yung? I think?
~ Oh Jesus! Now a Panic Switch off the ramp through a table...Ladies...stop giving away
all the good stuff for free...save it for the next pay per view!
~ And Su Yung puts Rosemary in the casket...in only the second week of their feud...like...
WTF?!

Okay...so as much as I was looking forward to this "match" I have to be honest &
say that the lack of a crowd & the commentators constantly talking really spoiled
what could have been an interesting match/segment.

I don't really understand why Rosemary wanted Allie to stay away...I mean Allie
defeated Su Yung clean at Redemption...and Allie has been getting more aggressive
in her matches lately...so why demand the distance.

Also...Allie being held back by those "Zombie Brides" was kind of lame...I mean
she's the Knockouts Champion...don't book her like a helpless damsel.

Also...if this is leading to an actual casket match...then why put one of the
women in the feud in a casket this early? Why not have Su hit a Panic Switch
onto a casket shattering it to pieces? They basically did that spot with the off
the ramp Panic Switch through a table.

Its a real shame a lot of Impact matches I've watched have been dragged down by
the crowd...mainly by the lack of an actual crowd. Impact need a smaller venue so they
can create a more "intimate" environment & actually make it look like there is a crowd
in the building.

Also...perhaps get some actual wrestling fans in the building...just an idea.

The announcers are also fucking terrible & make me miss Michael Cole, JBL & David
Otunga.

Yes...I just typed that...

That's how bad they are to my ears...

All in All...Well...we had two matches that didn't have a finish (which I hate)...Taya
looked weak, Kiera looked good, Tessa looked better...and the Allie/Rosemary/Su Yung
situation was strange & severely hampered by terrible Impact production values.

Of course...knowing how much of a Chameleon Courtney Rush is...especially when you
track her character development & changes to her physical appearance since arriving
on Impact...I'm going to hazard a guess she may have wanted to be put in the coffin.

Hell she even has a shirt showing her "Evolution" on Impact...

I'm pretty sure Lucha Underground did a similar "thing" with Mil Muertes in season 1...
he went in the box...and then came out "different"

I'm just guessing of course as I've tried extremely hard to avoid Impact spoilers...
so please don't post any.

I will of course be updating this thread every week (or with each Impact show I see)
and feel free to leave your own thoughts, Opinions & Comments below...and I again
I ask if you can please avoid posting spoilers.

There has been that connection between Rosemary and Allie for a while, but I thought the best friend thing was a little weird. I think Rosemary didn't want Allie to come out because she knew something insane was going to happen and did not want her to get hurt. Although, as you mentioned, Allie already beat Su Yung, so I don't know why Rosemary fought her so hard on it.

I didn't mind the casket spot, but it just has me wondering where they go from here. The death of Rosemary thing makes me think they may be doing something along the lines of Lucha Underground with Rosemary. I don't mind some more character evolution with Rosemary, but I love her character and hope they don't change too much too quickly.

I think that was a little "real life" bleeding in...Allie & Rosemary are incredibly close outside of Wrestling...

Also...the rumor is Rosemary is actually suffering from a knee injury...
and writing her into the casket...and off TV...is a way to let her heal
up fully before a Slammiversary match. Its the real reason she wasn't
on the Redemption pay per view card.

ACL injury, that sucks! That means you can count her out for around 6 months at the least if she is having surgery.

Looking on the bright side, this will hopefully allow them to build up the Knockout's division with more talent. That way when Rosemary comes back, she will have a plethora of talent to work with.

Okay...someone has been paying attention to my posting history.

Yes...bringing in Tenille to have matches with Allie, Taya, Su Yung,
Tessa & Kiera (& eventually Rosemary) would be pretty cool...but if
I had to hazard a guess...Tenille may be keeping her distance from
Impact for a number of reasons.

I guess its just annoying considering Rosemary is the main reason
I even watch Impact to begin with.

+ The 10th of May Edition of Impact 2018 +

Okay...so...there is not much to cover this week...

+ So former Knockout Winter returned as Katarina...playing the role
of Grado's girlfriend. I'll care when she starts actually wrestling.

+ We had a Tessa Blanchard Hype Package...which is fine...but I'd
rather see her actually wrestle.



+ And we did get to see a very well shot & creepy segment with
Allie "finding" a familiar looking doll with a small note on it.

I...I'm not sure where they are going with this...but the news is
Rosemary is injured & may be off TV for some time...which is
a real shame timing wise...but it may be an opportunity for
Allie to develop & grow as a character.

For some reason I have this idea running through my head that
the Bunny will find her Inner Demon & possibly don Rosemary's
war paint for a future encounter or match with Su Yung.

Like a literal Demon Bunny...like their own dual brand.

Rosemary's twitter page has been extremely strange since she
ended up in Su Yung's casket...which I have been watching for
clues...which at the time of me posting this has an interesting
opening eye gif as its latest post.

I guess this is kind of tough for me...being that the Knockouts
are the only reason I watch Impact...and now my favorite
Knockout (& possibly my favorite performer at this current time)
could possibly be out for months.

And that's it.

No Knockout matches...no appearances by Taya, Kiera,Su Yung
or Sienna (she still works for Impact right?) & yeah...that's kind of
disappointing...especially considering how last weeks episode
featured some really intense & interesting developments for the
entire division.

I am hoping that the next episode makes up for this...but
mostly...I'm hoping the Allie/Rosemary/Su Yung story is
continued in a creative & interesting way.

I also ask everyone to avoid spoilers as I have no idea what
will be happening on future shows & I'd like to keep it that way.

Anyway...have a good one...& I'll see you next week for some

Anyone else watched the funeral of Rosemary? That was a great segment, even though it was somewhat short and the music somewhat fit and got loud randomly, or at least it did for me. I can see Yung defeating Allie to get the belt and then have Rosemary come back later and get from her, and set a feud with Rosemary and Allie.
