NXT Champion: Kevin Owens
NXT Tag Team Champions: Blake & Murphy
NXT Woman's Champion: Sasha Banks
NXT Episode 137
March 4th, 2015
Full Sail University: Orlando, Florida
Backstage: Alex Riley is in GM Regal's office and demands a match with Owens, Regal says he can either be a competitor or commentator. Alex says he watched Regal do both, and Regal says to look what happened to him. He faced Cesaro and got destroyed, and he's never competed again since. Alex says he's still in his prime and has a lot to contribute. Regal says he can have the match, but he has to choose to either be a competitor as a commentator. He can have the match, but he has to make the choice for himself. Riley leaves to make his decision.
Adam Rose vs. Tyler Breeze
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT! WHY IS HE BACK? UGH! And for some reason, he's the most over in this match, how times have changed. Rose does a bunch of weird shit that throws Breeze off his game early, they then both give each other crotch drops and sell their dicks for like a minute. This is terrible, and for some reason, Rose dominates 90% of the match. Until Breeze hits the Beautyshot out of nowhere for the win. 1/2*
In the back, A Cameraguy talks to Enzo, Cass, and Carmella. Enzo says he's talking about sweet boy, Frosted Flake Wesley Blake. And the Australian kid. Enzo says they got loose cheeks, and every time they speak, he hears bowel movements. They need to wipe the crap off their lips. Cass says they don't address Carmella like that. She says she threw up in his mouth. Enzo says she baby burped, and she says they need to beat them. Cass says when they become #1 Contenders, they'll beat the bacon right off their backs. Enzo says daddy's bringing home the bacon.
In the back, A Cameraguy asks Alexa Bliss what she's been up to. She says since her series with Sasha Banks, she needed to heal physically and mentally. She's in a good place, and whether she retains tonight or not, she's gunning for her. It's about time someone showed the Boss who's really in charge.
Blake & Murphy vs. Angelo Dawkins & Sawyer Fulton
Albert tries to but Fulton and a fatter Dawkins over as these mat wrestlers, which is hilarious considering they've done none of at amateur wrestling since they've gotten here. This is a pretty standard showcase for the champs, they give the jibbers a shit ton on offense before using their championship experience to hit the running suplex followed by a Frog splash for the win. *
In the locker room, Bayley and Charlotte are talking. Bayley wishes her luck, and Charlotte says Sasha is going to need luck and walks off. Emma then comes over and Bayley asks if she wants to use the bubble machine like old times. Emma shakes her head no, and Bayley asks if she wants to watch the main event with her. Emma asks if she wants to watch the match that she should have been in, but she lost at Takeover because she was giving high tens and throwing headbands and hugging people. It's just like her. She did the same thing on Raw, she was nice, and look where it got her. Back here at NXT. Just something to think about. Good shit.
God damn, Rhyno video package airs. I miss 99 - 01 Rhyno so much.
Tony Briggs vs. Baron Corbin
Corbin squash.
Sometime during the match, Kevin Owens comes out to commentary and stares down Riley. After the match, we cut theirs with Owens still staring a hole through him. Albert tries to get him to concentrate on commentary and him does by turning his back to him. So, Owens steals his water AND POURS IT ON HIS HEAD. Albert holds back Riley back as stands up in Kev's face, Owens turns his back daring him to him before leaving. This feud is great, just a shame its with that shithead Riley and not Regal, or someone who is above average in the ring.
Sami Zayn is in the mean streets of Montreal Canada, he says Abu Dhabi was great, and in his short time away from NXT, he can't help but notice and feel like the landscape is changing dramatically and in a hurry. New faces, old faces. A new women's champion, and at the top, Kevin Owens. He's sorry he's not there in person, but he's filming this on March 1st, and it's his 13 year anniversary in this business, and for the first time in 13 years, he feels like he's not mentally prepared to be there right now. That's why he's here, walking the streets at two in the morning. He came home to get some perspective. He hasn't watched the match back just yet, but he plans on it. When he does, maybe then he can put into words what he plans on doing to Kevin Owens.
CJ Parker is complaining to Regal and Riley comes in. He says Owens is running roughshod and he wants Owens in the ring and he'll quit. Regal says he respects that, but he has to give him a talent contract first, and then he won't get Kevin Owens until he thinks he's ready. CJ laughs and says to give him a break. He's the only one to ever put a scar on Kevin Owens, and Riley that's fine he'll start with CJ next week.
Bull Dempsey vs. Solomon Crowe
I like Sami, I do, but this gimmick is a bust, he looks nothing like a hacker and he seems to have toned down all the crazy shit that got him hired. They brawl around for a bit, but for some reason, this is built about making Bull look like a tough Bully. He misses the shitty headbutt which allows Solo to make a comeback and hit a slingshot splash off the rope for a win. What a shitty finisher. Everything about this is bad. *
NXT Woman's Championship: Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks
Good story to start, with Charlotte coming out the aggressor but Sasha keeps ducking and avoiding her at all cost. She tries to take a count out about a minute in, but Charlotte brings her back in and hits these awesome knees from the cravat position. She quickly applies the figure four softening up the champs knees. During the break, commercial air for Owens/Finn for the NXT title on March 25th. Back now and Sahsa is in full control and isn't sell the knee
Charlotte keeps busting out new shit like the running backpack chin breaker, and she also goes for the moonsault but lands on her feet, the then tries the senton but Sasha has that scouted and gets the knees up to hurt the back. Good bully Sasha shit, like she does the double knees in the corner spot but does it to the back, she also pulls the back around the ringpost. Sasha busts out the straightjacket hold, just twisting Charlotte like a pretzel but keeping the "Boss" gimmick by trash-talking her the whole time. Sadly Charlotte isn't a good seller at all, her version selling is laying on the mat prone which makes sense logically cause when you hut your back you don't really be rolling around on it. They do some counters and it's fine, but clearly, Charlotte still has a long way to go and their actual best stuff is on the main roster in about a year. Charlotte hits a spear to set up a comeback, and goes back to the knee she hurt at the beginning of the match. Charlotte makes the rare mistake by not following up on the knee, she gets flashy and tries the Natural Selection off the top but Sasha grabs the ropes to block and rolls her up with her feet on the ropes to retain the title. Good shit. ***
