what up, kids

so it's well-established that perhaps the biggest competitor to the WWE is
New Japan. a number of ex-WWEers find major success in the Land of the
Rising Sun. now on WrestleMania weekend NJPW plans to have an even
at Madison Square Garden and supposedly Vince want to sign as much
New Japan talent away as possible. so, this has inspired me to think of an
amusing (and I'm sure HIGHLY unlikely) hypothetical situation. namely, let's
say, for shits and giggles, Hell has frozen over and the WWE has bought out
NJPW, making the roster now WWE employees. those who might be interested
(Bullet Club?) and those who are not in the slightest bit interested (at least not
while Vince runs the show) (Tetsuya Naito, Kazuchika Okada, Juice Robinson).
the now new WWE employees would have to follow three (out of God knows
how many) rules.

1. WWE is family-friendly so stuff like spitting on/swearing at/attacking audience
members are not allowed.

2. WWE is promotion-heavy so the wrestlers HAVE TO SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH
(see Asuka for reference)

3. The wrestlers have to change/modify their offense because a lot of what you see
in New Japan is banned in the WWE.

so here's the hypothetical part. let's say you are Vincent Kennedy McMahon, Jr.
and you have shocked the wrestling world by buying out New Japan. who would
you keep and who would you cut loose? those you keep, how would you book
them? (keep in mind this is Vince and WWE Creative making the matches.)
a couple of scenarios that come to my mind:

1. Toru Yano joins New Day as a fourth member (assuming ND is still around)

2. due to uncertainty about their English-speaking ability, LIJ is relegated to
mid-card. or they are broken up and Creative pushes one or two members
(Naito and/or SANADA say) and BUSHI and Takahasi are sent to 205 Live).
(from what I heard on YouTube, EVIL's English is decent.)

3. Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada become the "it feud" headlining every
WWE PPV, replacing Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. (i.e. it goes from
"Okada/Omega AWESOME! to Okada/Omega AGAIN?!)

4. Being a big guy, Micheal Elgin is pushed for a run

5. Minoru Suzuki becomes a Mr. Fuji-like character or Auska's crazy Uncle.
(that would totally suck)

so, how about it? how would you as WWE Creative book the new WWE folks?
let's hear you comments. if Suzuki does come, I hope he stays as is and
destroys the roster.

Keep Kenny Omega, Marty Scrull and Tetsuya Naito.. get rid of the rest.

Those 3 guys can be solid upper mid card talents.. I don't believe Naito can speak English so he won't get any type of push.

WWE needs to open some roster spots. They have such a loaded roster in WWE and NXT, they don't need these NJPW guys running around.

They're too afraid to release people and continuing to sign more and more talent.. They should think about making some cuts soon, get rid of the dead weight.

It'd be the death of authentic wrestling in Japan. Unless Triple H runs it. If Vince runs it it'll be like wrestling in Puerto Rico before Carlos Colon, Victor Jovica and Gorilla Monsoon started the Capitol Sports Promotion

probably. I saw a couple of clips on YouTube where there were hypothetical matches between the WWE and
NJPW. they showed a split with the WWE on top in the end. btw, I also had an amusing visual of Toru being a
third member of the B Team, given his shtick of being a "B wrestler".

If this ever happens; I'd prob quit watching the sport; this would be the end of humanity because of the effect of this actually happening---just bad for business but since it's just what if... It would ruin wrestling in general seriously---

well, SPORTSTER mentions a list of 2019 plans rumored to happen and are happening. one of
the rumored is that the WWE will buy out IMPACT. anyway, if it happened, I would LOVE to see
Vince and Creative try to sell Juice Robinson on what character he would get.
