Update on TNA taking Impact off the road

TNA management held a meeting for talent this afternoon in Salt Lake City, Utah, informing them that the current run of on the road Impact tapings would be ending after the next taping in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Talent were told they would be working Orlando, Florida tapings on 11/21-11/23 and that dates were also being locked in for December tapings also in Orlando.

While TNA will be returning to Universal Studios, the word we are hearing is that it will not be the same Soundstage that housed the Impact Zone, but a different space. One would be smaller length-wise but be a wider space on the inside.

As we hear more, we'll update.

Should be interesting if they still plan on a Vegas location, or are going to try and either find a new location elsewhere. Or they stick to somewhere else in Orlando because returning to the Impact zone every week would be a step backwards.

Shame, despite a majority of their crap being crap. I was kind of looking forward to the idea of iMPACT coming to my home city at some point. Meet some of the wrestlers and such. But let's be honest, their buyrates and ratings have just not been good.

Thought the road experiment wouldn't last but I expected it to last longer than this.

Well they still do live shows a few times a week, they come around where I live quite a few times a year.

I doubt they'll be here often. They'll probably go to Toronto because it's a bigger city with a lot more of the smaller arenas they do.

Thought TNA has just recently scrapped their houseshows? I don't think scrapping road trips altogether would be wise, all they need to do is sporadic trips to places where they draw. Fuck new markets, stick to Philly, Nashville, Orlando and the UK.

I haven't heard anything about them scrapping house shows but it really wouldn't surprise me.

With so little live events being scheduled over the next few months, TNA talents have been reaching out to different independent promoters trying to book indy dates. One of the biggest issues there is that TNA will not let their talents work for any groups if the footage is filmed for iPPV or DVD. So, unless they are in "dark" segments, that will limit where the talents can work, and might lock them out of most of the higher-profile, better paying independent groups.

I don't see why they wouldn't allow their talent to work other shows, if you think about it, it's more exposure for them.
Jesus, no matter how bad TNA is they really don't need to be relying on Indie companies for exposure, that market already knows about TNA it's the wider mainstream audience they're lacking.

I don't know man, I think it could work out for both sides. TNA may not have the biggest fanbase, but they probably have the second largest fanbase in the United States.

Again, the people who watch all these Indy companies will already know about TNA so how is that going to help out TNA? No disrespect to them, but I'm imagining they pull close to TNA PPV at numbers at best, so if anything it's going to benefit them at not TNA.

It could compel people to go to TNA events more to see that particular talent take on the talent of TNA, which they do have some pretty talented dudes. Sure you possibly could have seen it on TV anyway, but don't you think it's better live?
