Very meh Main Event, but the UFC adores Shogun and Chael. It'll either be a wrestlehump from Chael or a plodding, slow, gassed beatdown from Rua, neither possibility interests me.

Looking forward to Reem going all Ubereem back and getting his K1 destroyer aura back.

Chael via wrestlefuck and then to cut a promo on the next brazilian to take out :mark:

Looks like a fun card anyway

Strong card for a free show. I really hope that Overeem actually focusses this fight and gets back to his dominant best, KO Browne. As for the mainevent surely Sonnen wins this, Shogun is a shadow of his former self since that knee injury and I can't see him getting any better. Lauzon vs. Johnson should be a fun fight as well.

I'm debating on buying tickets; 675$ for 2 lounge seats, Center few of the cage 11th row above floor.

Far out, no wonder UFC pull in huge gate receipts. $675 for 2 seats in the 11th row! I assumed that cageside would be expensive but didn't realise that 11th row would be that much as well. In saying that it would be a great experience and you get five hours of fights.

Well this show is soon to be on the horizon. Hopefully all the fights are still intact.

I'm really looking forward to this card, even the last two prelim fights should be great. McGregor has the buzz around him, while Pickett and McDonald are going to be looking for a knockout. Also very smart of the UFC to have lower card fighters like Lauzon, Hall, and Brown on the card. It's somewhat obvious they wanted all three fighters there because they have a lot of buzz around him.

Faber vs Alcantara is the fight on the main card I'm least interested in. Hopefully Alcantara can somewhat challenge Faber, but I doubt it. Overeem better get it together, this is the first time in ages nobody is really talking about his fight. He's a lot of steam over the past six months. Just like Overeem, Shogun needs to get into shape for this fight. I have faith that he'll KO Sonnen since there is no way Shogun will be grounded for five rounds or get submitted.

Shogun did look very very bad against Vera that one time and nearly lost the fight... so I wouldn't put it past him to be grounded for 5 rounds... but I still do see Shogun getting that win.

But as far as Overeem goes... if he doesn't look to try to just clown around like he did with Bigfoot and just look to finish the fight... he should be fine and if impressive enough he could start getting talks back up about him again.

If Sonnen can fight smart and just take Shogun down there's very little Shogun can do at this point of his career. He'll gas 2 minutes into the fight, then just have to keep on him.

Overeem should win if he just goes for the kill, his tiny gas tank means he should never ever have the coast to a decision gameplan like he had against BigFoot.

Shogun could possibly last a bit if it stays standing like he did in the Hendo fight. But Sonnen would be smart to not try to keep the fight standing and try to get him down which he should be rather successful at being able to do.

But yeah Overeem... 1st round KO... he wants to get back in contention and show that he is someone that should be watched.

I think Overeem needs to finish the fight in the first two rounds. Browne is a workhorse and has plenty of cardio, while Overeem's endurance could be a problem. Not saying he'll get finished, but Browne could do serious damage if it goes to the third round.

Absolutely agree, thankfully it's not a three round fight. If it was three rounds, Sonnen would likely win. I like Shogun's chances.
