Re: UFC 163: Aldo vs. Pettis

Only know both guys from the top 3 fights, that's it. Hester is the boxer from this seasons TUF and Vinny lost to Davis last I believe?

Just looks like a main event show and that's it really. Davis/Machida could be super boring and Koscheck just hasn't interested me in forever.

Aldo v Pettis is the big seller, going to be an awesome fight, I'm looking forward to Machida's fight (even though he should be getting the Title shot instead of Gus).

Dana White ‏@danawhite 3m Pettis hurt his knee, Korean Zombie will now face Jose Aldo for the title on the Aug card in Rio Brazil.
Big fight ruined :( Will be interesting to see if he goes for Aldo on return from his injury, or whether he tries and negotiates for Bendo's.

I love Zombie, but that main card absoutely sucks.

Was looking forward to Pettis/Aldo more than any other fight this year.

Mannnnnnnnnn... I was just thinkin bout this fight today at work and how awesome it was gonna be. And now its off. Albeit Korean Zombie has deserved his shot at the belt for quite a while... it just doesn't sell like Pettis/Aldo.

But does that mean also that if Aldo wins he doesn't get a lightweight title shot or does he still get one since it isn't Pettis?

The way title shots are handed out on silver platters, he may still get the shot. But I do think that he won't get the shot since it was supposed to be about beating Pettis.

Disapointed that we aren't going to see Aldo vs. Pettis but Aldo vs. Zombie should still be good. Nice to see Davis face a huge step up in competition against Machida, I don't think that he has much of a chance but he needs to prove himself against the big names and this is his chance.

Machida needs to do something too. His last fight was so boring it was putting people to sleep. He has the ability to do stuff and make his fights good and watchable. But man.. the last one... was just horrid.

Phil Davis played the game, not his fault takedowns with no consequence results in points. Fight was boring, perhaps the judges fell asleep, I know I almost did.

Aldo/Zombie wasn't much better, what a dud card this was. Zombie loses because of his bum shoulder he got sugery on twice, if thats going to be a problem should call it quits or actually do isometric stretches to limber those babdboys up.

Who does Aldo got now? MEdnes? who he already beat in convincing fashion. Should jump up to LW since he doesn't have anything else to prove in his division. Should never have these mini divisions mainevent cards either.

Yeah I just got home from watching that sleeping pill of a card. I mean the prelims were aight. But the main card... man alive really?

I expected Machida/Davis to be a dud but I expected at least a little more action than that. I was still kinda shocked that Davis won but with takedowns being scored as high as almost knocking someone out... it happens. Machida thought he could skirt like he did last fight and just throw a few punches in there and avoid most everything else and win... nope. And that is why machida did not need to get a second title shot. Glad he didn't. Not like he needs to go crazy inside of there or anything... but at least do some engaging instead of spending 95% of the fight on defense.

The main event... I was expecting some fireworks cause when was the last time you saw Korean Zombie in a dud? Aldo in a dud? Then they are in there together and its like zzzz oh yeah... fight...zzzz... fight... zzzz. But the way Zombie lost... that does suck. Threw a punch and the shoulder got thrown out with it.

Mannnnn I'm hoping that the Fox Sports card and the Henderson/Pettis cards are good cause these last two cards have been bad.
