Speaking to ComicBook.com, AEW President Tony Khan responded to the report that WWE was open to collaborations.

"If WWE came calling to you to do, not even necessarily a collaborative show, but just share talent, share promotion, would you consider AEW to be open for business with WWE?" ComicBook.com's Liam Crowley asked Tony.

"It's an interesting thought," Tony responded. "It would depend on the circumstance."

I think for a proper WWE and AEW cross-over, some egos need to be benched on both sides.

The only way I'd EVER see something like this happening in the not so distant future, is if it was a 2 day show where you had AEW matches, WWE matches, and a AEW vs WWE or AEW/WWE team ups sprinkled throughout. Like night one the AEW title is defended, night 2 the WWE title is defended.

“There’s a number of big factors that would play into why wrestling has seen such a great renaissance in recent years. I think it comes from the great competition in wrestling right now, and the fact that there are so many great stars competing right now,” Khan said. “Everyone knows that the most real thing in wrestling is the competition between the companies. The companies hate each other, and it will be a natural resource that powers the industry. They want to beat each other and take everybody’s free agents, and that makes it interesting for everybody else.”
