I wish they didn’t set up your boy with my boy for his first match in new Japan pro-wrestling, but I’m gonna have to be rooting for my leader to retain his new belt in his first offense.
Hey, I totally understand! Either way the match should be great. I’m just hoping we get motivated, giving a damn again Nemeth. Which I believe we will

It annoyed me that the TNA TV Title was once the Global Title for this exact reason

And if you go by the kayfabe origin of the belt the IC Title is the championship of both North and South America so that makes it not a "world but again" belt
Yeah, I was fine with the kayfabe reasoning that intercontinental was used as a secondary belt, but there’s really no getting around global meaning the same thing as worlds technically speaking, but I will say TNA did come the closest for a reasoning for their name, because they had a whole set of rules about how the belt had to be defended all over the world and by non-American wrestlers and all kinds of goodies and stuff.

The problem was that Russo booking that sort of belt would never work. If a competent booker had done something like Stardom's SWA title, that would have been better

I can’t get on board of all the Russo bashing, but either way, if a current Belt used the same general idea of rules, it would make sense to use that name.

Isn't Dolph going to AEW with his brother ?
Maybe at some point, but he’s currently working NJPW. I don’t think he wants to be locked down anywhere.

Isn't Dolph going to AEW with his brother ?
Possibly but either not right away or not exclusively because he showed up after kingdom and challenged the leader of bullet club to a match for his first time ever global championship.

I think this belt can be defended all over and in different companies and everything like that from what I remember

Hard to explain, but the TNA one had very strange and stringent rules and one of them I believe was two Americans couldn’t wrestle for the belt.

But I do hope the Belt winds up being more universally defended than any of the other IWGP belts. That would be cool.

The rules as written by Eric Young were that it had to be between two non-Americans outside of America. This was broken on the first defence, which took place in the Impact Zone in Florida.

Loving all the new Designs for the Impact Titles all I would love to have fun with in the Bedroom with a dream girl or two.
