Each week with have a certain theme, these themes could be genre based on have other things to them. The themes for each week are as follows:

Week 1 - Freestyle
Week 2 - Rock Music
Week 3 - Hip Hop Music
Week 4 - Pop Music
Week 5 - Hometown Hero (The artist or band has to be from your hometown or nearby if not possible)
Week 6 - Video game music (The song has to have appeared in a video game)
Week 7 - Wrestlers entrance themes
Week 8 - Country Music
Week 9 - TV Show Theme Songs
Week 10 - Wrestling PPV/Show Music (The song was used as the theme for a PPV or a weekly show)
Week 11 - 90's Music (Song has to be from the 90s)
Week 12 - RnB
Week 13 - Freestyle

with hometown, there are a few possibilities, but just to make sure, does the band have to have formed in the town or can a member of the band be from the town. As in, he was from the town but the band formed elsewhere

I wouldn't see any reason why it wouldn't count if any of the members were from your hometown.
