So for me the first time I can remember having my head turned with regards to Sports was watching Michael Owen breaking out for England in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and I was just mesmorised.

It's also the reason I ended up being a Liverpool fan.

It's a big moment in your life where you just say wow.

My question is who was the first sportsman that you remember taking notice of growing up?

It would have either been Kevin Garnett or Randy Moss, who coincidentally were both playing for their Minnesota teams at the time. I remember Moss being the first NFL guy that stuck out to me, since I didn't really watch football until I was probably 9 or 10, and only got into it after playing NFL 2K5 and Madden 06. For KG, in my third grade class we were all allowed to take a book home at the end of the year and for some reason I decided to take some short little KG paperback book that talked about his career up to that point. I dug his personality and I regard him as being my first favorite basketball player, until I moved onto CP3 in my teenage years.

For reference, I wasn't alive to see Kirby Puckett's career, but he's considered a legitimate legend and you'd see imagery of him all the time in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Vince Young for me, during his run as the Texas quarterback. The Rose Bowl game in January '06 is one of my most vivid sports memories as a kid

For all my ra ra with my Phila Sport Teams the guy who fits this question is not a player from any of those teams. John Elway was my guy when it came to Football way before the Eagles took off. The way he played the Game especially as he got older wanting a SB Ring was mesmerizing to watch as a fan. The SB between the Packers and Broncos still one of my favorites.

Mine is the man behind Owen in that image.

Beckham was my hero as a kid and partly the reason that I also support United.

One of the greatest. I don't care what anyone says. They won't change my mind about it.

Becks does not deserve the hate he gets from some circles saying that he was nothing special.

Look at his Résumé, look what he has done and achieved and then there's the obvious of just watching him play. I feel like if I would have started to pay attention a little earlier Beckham might have been the one for me too really.

I actually had no idea who that was but was betting it was gonna be a Cricket player before I put his name into Google haha.

I think what goes on outside his football career is why people tend to forget just how gifted he actually was. He's a global superstar and I bet most people know who he is but sometimes forget that he used to play football because of that.

I don't know how people can forget the absolutely ridiculous amount of money LA Galaxy paid to get Beckham to the MLS.

"An estimated £128million over five years, equating to £25.6m each year, £492,307 a week and £2,930 per hour."

That's a Superstar.
