LET THE BACKLASH BEGIN
(March 31st-April 21st)

It is March 31st, 2003 and the WWE is 24 hours removed from one of the biggest, well received Wrestlemania’s of all time, Wrestlemania XIX. Live from Seattle, Washington Raw opened up to a sell out crowd. The Raw after Wrestlemania is always deemed to be pretty special and this year in 2003 was no exception. Raw opened up with Stone Cold Steve Austin making his way down to the ring with a noticeable limp as less than 24 hours ago fought tooth and nail with “The Great One” The Rock but was unable to come out with a victory. Austin talks about his showdown with the Rock and says that the Rock was the better man but for only one night. Austin moves onto saying that he wants a rematch with the Rock at Backlash and proceeds to call out the Rock. However, the Rock did not come out as Austin requested, instead General Manager, Eric Bischoff came out much to the chagrin of the crowd and of Stone Cold. Bischoff says that Austin will get his match with the Rock at Backlash in what is billed as the FINAL ENCOUNTER!!! Bischoff says this rivalry can only be settled in one match and that at Backlash it will be a Hell in a Cell match. Austin likes what Bischoff is saying for a change. Austin asks where the Rock is because he wants to kick his ass right now in Seattle. Bischoff says the Rock isn’t here tonight but next week a contract will be signed for the match. Stone Cold doesn’t have the patience for next week and gives GM Bischoff a good ol fashioned Stone Cold Stunner as the crowd pops. On the April 7th episode of Raw, the contract signing was billed to close the show. During the contract signing Austin and the Rock go back and forth arguing over who the best really is. Eric Bischoff said that at Backlash there can only be one winner, and the winner will receive a future World Heavyweight Championship match and the loser would be FIRED!!! The Rock and Austin stare down and then proceed to sign the contract and then predictably like most contract signings go, all hell breaks loose as Bischoff leaves the scene as Rock and Austin exchange right hands. Austin went for the stunner but Rock shoves Austin away and then attempts a Rock Bottom but Austin reverses and gives the Rock a SPINEBUSTER through the table. The next week, we get an in depth video package at the Austin/Rock rivalry dating all the way back to 1997 and shows everything through Wrestlemania XIX! On the April 21st episode of Raw, 6 days away from Backlash this feud heated up even more as the Rock held a segment where he dressed up like Stone Cold and would mock his mannerisms. The Rock (as Austin) says he will be put in his place by the Rock and that the Rock has always been better than me. This goes on for a while until the real Stone Cold comes down to the ring with his ATV and doesn’t hesitate to go toe to toe with the Rock. Austin and Rock brawl around the arena for a good 10-15 minutes. The Rock managed to gain the upper hand heading into Backlash after nailing Austin with the Rock Bottom into the Announcer’s table. Whose career will be over? Can the Rock make it two in a row or will Steve Austin prove that Wrestlemania XIX was indeed a fluke?

At Wrestlemania XIX, Triple H was victorious against Booker T to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. On the Raw after Mania he wasn’t afraid to brag about it either as Evolution met in the ring and ran down Booker T and any Raw superstar in the back who thinks they have a chance to defeat Triple H. This garnered quite a bit of attention as Booker T comes out and says that he was screwed at Wrestlemania and wants a rematch, also Shawn Michaels and Y2J come out to interrupt the Game. Bischoff makes a huge main event for that evening. A triple threat match pitting Y2J against HBK and Booker T with the winner facing Triple H at Backlash for the World Heavyweight Championship. The main event winds up being a no contest as Evolution interferes and knocks out every opponent. Bischoff therefore makes a fatal four way for Backlash where Triple H will defend the World title against HBK, Y2J, and Booker T. Bischoff says that next week on Raw Evolution will face HBK, Y2J and Booker T and Triple H will face Kevin Nash one on one in a non title match. The huge 6 man tag team match kicked off the April 7th Raw as Booker T pinned Ric Flair. As Booker T was celebrating with HBK, Y2J attacked Booker T from behind and a hard club to the back. This led to HBK and Jericho brawling, HBK hit Y2J with a sweet chin music. Later on in the first hour, Triple H defeated Kevin Nash after a good 10 min fight with the pedigree to the big man. After the match, Triple H grabbed his patented sledgehammer and nailed Kevin Nash in the head several times causing Nash to bleed profusely. Nash was tended to by the medical staff as Triple H continues the momentum from Wrestlemania. On the April 14th edition of Raw we saw 2 huge singles matches that highlighted that episode including Chris Jericho versus Booker T and Shawn Michaels taking on Randy Orton. Booker T defeated Chris Jericho after rolling him up countering the Walls of Jericho, Jericho attacked Booker T after the match and locked in the Walls of Jericho until refs and security had to pull Jericho off of him. In the main event that night, Randy Orton battled Shawn Michaels in what was a classic 15 minute match. Ultimately Shawn Michaels defeated Orton with the sweet chin music to end the night standing tall. On the Raw before Backlash in the middle of the show, we saw a HUGE tag team match pitting all 4 opponents in the World Title match. Booker T teamed with Shawn Michaels to take on Triple H and Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho pinned Booker T after HHH nailed Booker T with the sledgehammer while the ref was knocked out. Post match, Triple H hit Jericho with the sledgehammer but got his face kicked in by Shawn Michaels. Evolution doesn’t intervene instead just helps Triple H up the ramp. Is this a sign of things to come at Backlash?

After the World Tag Team Champions, Chief Morley and Lance Storm cheaply defeated RVD and Kane thanks to help from the Dudley Boyz. RVD and Kane were given a rematch for the World Tag Team Titles on Raw and this time despite another attempt at interference RVD and Kane WON the World Tag Team Titles with RVD pinning Morley. Next week on Raw Lance Storm got rid of Morley as a tag team partner and said that he has someone in mind that isn’t dead weight and will regain the tag team championships with WILLIAM REGAL!!! On the April 14th Raw, Storm and Regal fought the Dudley Boyz where the winners would become the #1 contender for the World Tag Team Championships. Storm and Regal got the victory, earning a match with RVD and Kane at Backlash.

Trish Stratus won her 4th Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania XIX defeating Victoria and Jazz in a triple threat match. On the March 31st edition of Raw, Victoria got her rematch clause for the Women’s title. Trish got the victory after hitting the stratusfaction. It was all smiles and celebration for Trish until Jazz shows up on the titantron and says that Trish didn’t pin her last night at Wrestlemania and she wants a match against Trish next week. Next week, Jazz gets her match with Trish for the Women’s Championship and was on the brink of losing to Trish and becoming the next victim but Jazz managed to evade a stratusfaction and drove Trish into the turnbuckle face first which got taken off mid-match. Jazz pinned Trish for the win. Jazz won the Women’s Championship in a stunning fashion. Trish was granted a rematch for Backlash and in a backstage interview on April 14th, Trish vowed to win back her championship from that bitch Jazz. Jazz attacked Trish backstage with a club to the back of the head with the women’s title. On the go home show to Backlash, Theodore Long became the manager for the Women’s Champion, Jazz and said that her client will walk all over any opponent in her way including Trish Stratus at Backlash. Jazz defeated Molly Holly on Raw pretty handily and began to stomp on Molly Holly as Long gave her orders. Stratus made the save and landed a chick kick to Jazz. Long drags Jazz out of the ring as Stratus signals that she will reclaim what is rightfully hers, the Women’s Championship.

A Champions Day Numbered?
(April 3rd-April 24th)

April 3rd edition of Smackdown Stephanie McMahon announced that Kurt Angle will be out for a few months due to a neck injury and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will return to Smackdown next week. Stephanie announces a battle royal as the main event for smackdown to crown a new #1 contender for the WWE Championship at Backlash. The Battle Royal was the last 30 minutes of Smackdown and included most of the Smackdown Roster. The last 2 men were the Undertaker and the Big Show and went at each other for a few minutes. Both men ended up eliminating each other at the SAME TIME!!! No one knew what to do and how a winner was gonna be decided so Stephanie came out and made a triple threat match for Backlash. Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE Championship against the Big Show and the Undertaker. On the April 7th edition of Smackdown, Big Show went one on one with the Undertaker as Brock Lesnar looked on from the back. The match ended in a double countout as Big Show and Taker kept fighting on the outside of the ring. Brock Lesnar got involved and helped Taker get the upper hand on Big Show but Big Show, the biggest athlete on the planet, landed a DOUBLE CHOKESLAM to Undertaker and BROCK LESNAR!!! The next week, Big Show opened up the show showboating how he single handedly destroyed Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker with his bare hands and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it come Backlash where he will dominate and win the WWE Championship. Brock Lesnar rushes to the ring and fights the Big Show taking the big man down with a SPEAR!! A match was made for later in the night as the main event between Big Show AND Brock Lesnar in a non title contest. The match ended when Big Show hit Lesnar with the WWE title belt leading to a DQ!! Big Show hit Lesnar a 2nd time with the WWE Title square in the face busting open the champion. No Undertaker in sight, as Michael Cole focuses on asking where Taker is and why didn’t he come help Brock like Brock did last week. That brings us to April 24th, 3 DAYS FROM BACKLASH!!!! The three men had a contract signing for the big WWE Title triple threat match. Brock Lesnar brought up where Taker was last week and Taker said that he doesn’t need to fight anyones battles for him and that he is his own man. Lesnar and Taker face off and then Big Show intervenes and says that Lesnar and Taker need to worry about what he did to them a couple weeks ago and that Sunday at Backlash he will destroy them both and be standing as the WWE Champion. Every man signed the contract and then went to blows. Lesnar and Taker shoulder tackle Big Show, knocking him out of the ring. Lesnar and Undertaker exchanged right hands which is what the crowd was waiting for. Lesnar had Taker up for the F-5 but Taker countered and landed a CHOKESLAM THROUGH THE TABLE TO LESNAR!!!! Smackdown ended with Undertaker holding up the WWE Championship. Will we see a NEW WWE Champion on Sunday at BACKLASH???

During the # 1 Contender Battle Royal, Chris Benoit eliminated the upstart, John Cena. This didn’t sit too well with Cena as he reentered the Battle Royal later on and eliminated Benoit. Cena destroyed Benoit and gave him an FU into the announcer’s table. The following week, Chris Benoit challenged the cocky upstart John Cena to a match at Backlash and Cena accepted albeit in rap form. Cena rapped some more at Benoit mocking him for not being able to win the big title and how he will win the world title before Benoit. Benoit nailed Cena with 3 german suplexes after being disrespected. Benoit went for the crossface but Cena escaped the ring and went up the ramp taunting Benoit. During the last Smackdown heading into Backlash, Stephanie McMahon announced that the winner of John Cena versus Chris Benoit will become the NEW #1 contender and will face whoever wins the WWE Championship Triple Threat Match at Backlash.

Hulk Hogan made his shocking retirement on the April 3rd edition of Smackdown. He thanked all the Hulkamaniacs for being there for him every step of the way. He says there was no better way to go out than beating the hell out of Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania.

At Wrestlemania XIX, Team Angle managed to steal the victory after Rhyno speared Chavo Guerrero and Shelton Benjamin knocked Rhyno out of the ring and stole the pinfall. The week after Wrestlemania on April 3rd Los Guerreros answered an Open Challenge of Team Angle who challenged any tag team for a match for the Tag Team Titles. Los Guerreros managed to cheat and steal the Tag Team Championships as behind the ref's back Eddie gave a huge low blow to Charlie Haas and Chavo tagged in and rolled up Haas and grabbed the ropes for the three count and the victory. Los Guerreros celebrated all week long as the following week on Smackdown April 10th a video package was shown showing Los Guerreos celebrating their tag team championship victory by going to casinos and drinking and hanging out with strippers. Meanwhile on the same episode of Smackdown Team Angle isn’t too happy and defeat Rhyno and his new tag team partner Tajiri. Team Angle challenged Los Guerreros to a rematch at Backlash. The following week on Smackdown Los Guerreros accepted but Haas said it’s gonna be a 2 out of 3 falls match at Backlash. Benjamin says he guarantees that the World’s Greatest Tag Team won’t lose twice in one night. On the last Smackdown before Backlash on April 24th, Shelton Benjamin defeated Chavo Guerrero using the same tactic that Los Guerreros used at Wrestlemania. Haas distracted the ref and Benjamin low blowed Chavo and rolled him up with a handful of middle rope. Eddie was busy dealing with Haas on the outside.

Another storyline involving championship gold on Smackdown was the cruiserweight championship. On Smackdown the weeks after Wrestlemania Hardy defeated Spike Dudley and Funaki respectively. On the April 17th Smackdown, Matt Hardy was told that he would be defending the cruiserweight championship at Backlash but his opponent would be determined in a fatal four way match that night. Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman, Brian Kendrick, and Jamie Noble were the participants. Mysterio hit a 619 square to the jaw of Noble and pinned him to win and earn another opportunity at the Cruiserweight Championship gold. The next week on Smackdown, Rey Mysterio defeated Shannon Moore, Matt Hardy’s right hand man. Matt Hardy immediately attacked Mysterio from behind after the match and landed the twist of fate right on the championship.

Winners in italics, looking forward to the show. Most the build up here has been relatively solid. I'm not completely sold on Rock/Austin in HIAC though, just doesn't feel right for them to me. Also, with joint brand shows, I'd probably try and avoid multi man matches for both World Titles on the same show. Loved The Rock mocking Austin in the build up though, plenty of table spots and Guerreros going to casinos and what not. A few segments that really feel like you're capturing the era that you're booking nicely.

WWE
BACKLASH 2003

April 27, 2003 | Worcester, Massachusetts

~ WWE SIGNATURE OPEN ~

!!! PYRO !!!

J.R & Jerry The King Lawler open the show, in the Worcester Centrum in Worcester, Massachusetts with a sell out crowd of 10,000 screaming WWE fans- and it’s a show with huge implications. J.R hypes all three Raw championships being at stake tonight, before touching on the main event, where Stone Cold and The Rock face off inside Hell in a Cell. The ominous steel structure is shown as they toss it to Michael Cole and Tazz. Cole and Tazz hype the WWE Championship Triple Threat match later tonight as well as saying he can’t wait for Backlash and Smackdown gets to set the tone for the night.

**VIVA LA RAZA**

A bright yellow low rider pulls right up to the stage at the beginning of the ramp as Eddie Guerrero is driving honking the horn and Chavo in the passenger seat. The WWE Tag Team Champions exit the car and slowly walk to the ring as Los Guerreros, with the tag belts around their waist, high five a bunch of the crowd before stepping foot in front of a sell out crowd tonight at Backlash. Cole and Tazz hype up this 2 out of 3 falls match. Tazz says he hopes the Guerreros get what’s coming to them as the lying, cheating and stealing will bite them in the ass.

**HEROES**

The self proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag Team, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas make their way out to the ring as the former champs stare down the current champs as Cole and Tazz toss it to a replay showing when Los Guerreros won the Tag Team Championships on Smackdown from Benjamin and Haas.

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
2 OUT OF 3 FALLS
LOS GUERREROS (C) vs. TEAM ANGLE

A nice traditional start to the match, as Eddie and Shelton lock up. They both fight hard for the early advantage as Eddie manages to grab the side headlock. Shelton shoves off Eddie to the ropes but Guerrero comes back and nails a shoulder block. Eddie continues to be a little too quick for Shelton in the early going which frustrates Benjamin leading him to tag in Haas.

Haas comes in but runs at Guerrero to try and gain the upper hand but Guerrero meets him with an arm drag. Haas runs at Guerrero again but Guerrero hits another arm drag. Eddie tags in Chavo and Chavo hops in as Haas slows the pace but Chavo manages to one up the “World's Greatest Tag Team” as he gets a side headlock as well just like Eddie. Chavo pushed off the ropes, Haas leapfrogs over Chavo, Chavo bounces back off the ropes and Haas this time armdrags Chavo but holds into a submission hold. Chavo manages to get to his feet and lands a hip toss to escape the hold. Chavo off the ropes and lands a nice dropkick taking out Haas to the outside as Shelton and Charlie look to regroup as the fans are loving the action so far.

Haas slides back into the ring and immediately tags in Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin goes to work on the leg of Chavo eventually grounding him and using his wrestling expertise. Still unable to get a hold on the match however as Chavo gets to his feet and escapes a hammerlock and goes behind and goes for a back suplex but Benjamin lands on his feet, Shelton charges Chavo and lands a DDT to the mat and covers 1………2………..KICKOUT!!!!

Now the challengers begin to gather the momentum in this 2 out of 3 falls match as they cut the ring off from Latino Heat as Chavo is really struggling. Tagging in and out are Benjamin and Haas as the self proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag team are living up to the moniker here tonight. Benjamin tosses Chavo out of the ring, Benjamin risks it all as he goes off the ropes and LAUNCHES INTO A PLACHA OVER THE TOP ROPE but….CHAVO MOVES and Benjamin lands on his back on the outside of the ring. Chavo rolls into the ring slowly as he has been in for quite a while. Haas rolls Benjamin into the ring as Haas tags in and Chavo TAGS in Eddie and here we go…..Eddie with a rush full of energy takes down Haas with a pair of clotheslines. Eddie off the ropes and goes for a dropkick but Haas swipes Eddie's legs away and Haas dropkicks Guerrero in the back of the head. So much for the champions gaining the upper hand as the match shifts back into the hands of Haas and Benjamin. Haas nails a few right hands mocking Guerrero and then proceeds to shake his chest like Eddie does. Haas goes for THE THREE AMIGOS but Eddie using his experience ROLLS UP HAAS and USES THE TIGHTS 1……….2……….3!!!! LOS GUERREROS TAKE THE FIRST FALL!!
Winners of Fall 1: Los Guerreros 1-0 @ 6:32

Fall one goes to the Tag Team Champions as Eddie used the tights to his advantage as the lie, cheat steal moniker came into play here tonight. Eddie smirks at Haas as Haas looks livid, Haas charges angrily at Guerrero but Guerrero ROLLS UP HAAS again into the same small package 1………..2………..3NOOOO Haas just gets out in the knick of time. Eddie grabs Haas for the three amigos and lands all three devastating suplexes. Eddie makes his way to the top rope but Shelton Benjamin runs over to distract Eddie but Chavo charges and nails a SPEAR through the middle ropes taking out Benjamin. Both men are down on the outside as Eddie is still perched on the top rope. That distraction however gave Haas enough time to meet Eddie up top. Haas and Guerrero exchange hard right hands. Haas grabs Guerrero by the chest and lands a BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX FROM THE TOP ROPE!!!! Haas slowly pins Eddie 1…….2………NOOO KICKOUT AT 2!!

Haas can’t believe it as he continues to pound away at Eddie. Shelton slowly gets to the apron and Haas tags in Benjamin. Benjamin grabs Eddie and goes for the T-Bone suplex finisher but Eddie elbows out knocking Shelton for a loop. The camera focuses on the outside though for now, with Booker T unleashing all his fury on Triple H, slamming the champion's head off the announce table, then hammering his foe, with Triple H spread eagled against the table. Back in the ring now and Michaels whips Jericho into the corner turnbuckle, HBK charges but Jericho moves causing HBK to go face first hard into the turnbuckle. Jericho rolls up HBK for a 1 count. Booker T rolls Triple H back into the ring as all 4 men are in the ring now. HBK tosses HHH outside of the ring and follows, Michaels throws Triple H into the barricade. HBK rolls back in the ring as Booker T and HBK team up to take down Jericho with a clothesline. Michaels sneaks from behind and rolls up Booker T getting a one count as Booker T argues with HBK. Michaels argues back as Booker and HBK go back and forth with right hands.

Triple H drags Shawn Michaels outside of the ring and throws him into the steel ring post face first. Triple H goes for a pedigree on the outside of the ring but HBK escapes and throws HHH head into the steel ramp and that echos throughout the arena as the crowd reacts hotly to that move. Meanwhile, attention to the ring as Booker T goes for a Book end chokeslam but Jericho elbows out and hits a nice enziguri. Jericho goes for the lionsault but Michaels grabs Jericho's foot causing him to crash to the mat below. Michaels in the ring now and he charges at Booker T and lands a nice flying forearm. Knip up by Michaels. Michaels tunes up the band but Jericho rolls up Michaels into a Walls of Jericho but HBK kicks him off. Booker T is already up top and DOES A CROSSBODY TO SHAWN MICHAELS. The crowd is behind Booker as Booker grabs Jericho and rolls him in the ring. Booker with a kick to the gut, goes for the scissors kick but Jericho moves and grabs the legs of Booker and LOCKS IN THE WALLS OF JERICHO!!!! Booker T scrambles as Jericho sits deeper, locking in the hold even more. Triple H comes in and pounds on Jericho’s back, breaking the hold. Triple H goes for the pedigree but Jericho back drops Triple H out of the ring. Jericho focuses on Booker T and goes off the rope for a LIONSAULT…..NOOOOO Booker T gets his knees up…..Booker T to his feet and gets hit with the SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!! 1………………2…………………….NOOOOOOOO RIC FLAIR PUTS TRIPLE H FOOT ON THE ROPES!!!! Flair came out of nowhere as Batista and Orton were there as well. No DQ in a Fatal Four Way Match. Orton looks at Michaels on the outside of the ring and seethes…..RKO TO MICHAELS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RING!!!!!! Batista hops on the apron as Jericho dropkicks him off the apron. Jericho then NAILS A SUICIDE DIVE onto Flair and Orton knocking Evolution down. Jericho rolls into the ring and gets kicked by Booker T with a high spinning heel kick knocking him out of the ring. THE ROCK vs. STEVE AUSTIN

Rock and Austin have an epic stare off as the bell rings and the FINAL ENCOUNTER between two of the best to ever step foot in a WWE ring. The crowd’s energy is palpable as Rock and Austin go at one another with right hands as they trade blows. The Rock gets a kick to the gut. Rock throws Austn into the ropes, Austin jumps on Rock with a lou thez press and nails Rock with several right hands. The action spills to the outside as Rock and Austin continue to battle with rights and lefts. Rock knees Austin in the gut and then grabs the back of his head and goes to ram him into the steel chain but Austin counters and tosses the Rock into the chain. Austin flips off Rock and throws him into the chain once again. Austin tosses the Rock in the ring and hits a nice neckbreaker and pins 1………….2……….KICKOUT!!! Austin stomps some more on the Rock. Rock escapes to the outside. Austin follows Rock out but Rock is ready and whips Austin into the steel steps. The Rock taunts the crowd and then grabs Austin and throws Austin into the CAGE!!! Rock shoves Austin's face into the cage as the camera zooms in on Austin's face. Rock throws Austin back inside the ring and continues to go to work on Austin.

Rock whips Austin into the turnbuckle and then follows up with a clothesline taking down Steve. The Rock is on top of Austin now and beats the pulp out of Austin and then mocks him with a flip of the bird followed by more punches. The Rock taunts Austin as he waits for Austin to get up. ROCK BOTTOM no Austin elbows out and headbutts Rock several times. Austin goes for the stunner but the Rock escapes to the outside. Austin follows and both he and Rock exchange more right hands. Austin slams the Rock off the ring post and then off the cage. Austin looks under the ring and grabs a steel chair. Austin hits the Rock HARD IN THE BACK with the chair as the crowd pops hard. Austin rams the chair into the gut of the Rock followed by a HARD chair shot to the face which manages to cut the Rock open. Blood shed here at Backlash as Austin grabs the Rock and throws him into the cage yet again. Austin goes underneath the ring and grabs a table and slides it inside the ring. Austin continues to manhandle the Rock on the outside before rolling him back in the ring. Austin sets up the table in the middle of the ring as continues to pound the Rock.

Rock off the ropes hops over Austin, back off the ropes AUSTIN IS UP….STUNNER TO THE ROCK!!! Austin can’t make the cover as he is too exhausted. Austin slowly gets up and grabs the barbwire 2x4 and looks ready to use it to his advantage. Austin waits for Rock to get to his feet and AUSTIN HITS ROCK SQUARE IN THE FACE!!!! HOLY SHIT……..The Rock continues to bleed profusely as Austin just rakes the eyes of the Rock with the barbwire as JR says he isn't surprised because that's how this rivalry has to end here tonight

Austin’s flesh may be seared, says JR as Austin is bleeding from parts of his body where the Barbwire cut him. Both men are down as the fans are cheering the action they are witnessing tonight. A bloody Rock gets to his feet exhausted as these men have been fighting for about 20 minutes thus far. Rock grabs the barbwire 2x4 and delivers some payback to Austin by HITTING AUSTIN WITH THE BARBWIRE 2x4 RIGHT IN THE FACE!!!! This immediately cuts Austin open as both men are bleeding so much. The Rock grabs Austin and nails ANOTHER ROCK BOTTOM. Rock slowly drapes the arm on Austin’s chest 1…………………2…………………………..3NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Austin by the skin of his teeth gets the shoulder up.

HIGHWAY ROBBERY + SOMEONE'S GOING TO THE HOSPITAL AT JUDGMENT DAY
(May 1st-May 15th)

After the dust settled at Backlash, one thing was for certain, John Cena would be the next challenger for the WWE Championship after defeating Chris Benoit in a phenomenal match. Later in the night we found out who that would be and his name is Brock Lesnar. Lesnar successfully defended his title at Backlash against Undertaker and the Big Show leading to a clash against John Cena at Judgment Day. As a surprise to no one on the May 1 Smackdown, John Cena was gloating and rapping about beating Chris Benoit at Backlash and how he will defeat Brock Lesnar and kick his ass and become the WWE Champion. This brought out the champ, Lesnar as both men stare down and Cena makes it simple and brushes by Lesnar showing the WWE champion no respect. The following week, Brock Lesnar is in action as he teams with Chris Benoit against A-Train and Mark Henry in the main event. During the match however, John Cena STEALS the WWE Championship and runs off with the gold which distracts Lesnar and Lesnar gives chase to the back. Benoit eventually loses the match after being left high and dry but the main story is Lesnar chasing Cena for his title. Lesnar chases Cena through the backstage area and Cena manages to hop in a car that pulls up and speeds off. Cena stealing the championship was played up alot during this feud leading into Judgment Day. One week later, John Cena, who mind you is NOT the rightful WWE Champion, shows up to the arena with the WWE title he stole the previous week. Cena cut a promo saying how good this title looks around him and after this sunday he will earn respect around the locker room after beating Brock Lesnar. Speaking of Lesnar, the current WWE Champion comes for a fight and hops in the ring with Cena as he throws Cena around. Lesnar goes for an F-5 but Cena low blows Lesnar. Cena hits Lesnar in the face with the WWE Championship twice busting Lesnar wide open. Lesnar is shown bloody and beaten as Cena holds the WWE Championship high in the air. Cena walks off with the title yet again. Cena and Lesnar set on a collision course for this Sunday’s Judgment Day event. Will Cena shock the world and actually EARN the WWE Championship and respect from his colleagues?

A huge main event for the Smackdown after Backlash was made between the Undertaker and the Big Show coming off of the unsuccessful triple threat match against Brock Lesnar. The Undertaker and Big Show were on the top rope and Taker suplexed Big Show onto the mat causing the RING TO COLLAPSE!!!! Show and Taker were both lifeless as Smackdown went to black. Neither men were able to make it to Smackdown the next week but Stephanie McMahon made a match for Judgment Day between the Undertaker and The Big Show in an Ambulance Match. Big Show did return the following week and cut a promo on the Undertaker saying how he is still in the hospital dealing with his wounds while Big Show is here and ready to fight. An Ambulance pulls up to the arena and out to the stage area and parks to the side of the ramp, Big Show charges at the Ambulance and out steps the UNDERTAKER!!!! Taker and Show exchange rights and lefts and toss the other into the ambulance. Taker goes for a chokeslam on Show on the outside floor but Show is just too heavy and counters and lands a chokeslam of his own on THE FLOOR!!!! Show stares at the ambulance and leaves saying “Sunday i’m driving your ass outta here”

At Backlash last month, Los Guerreros and Team Angle competed in a 2 out of 3 falls match and stole the show and in the end Los Guerreros retained the WWE Tag Team Championships. On the smackdown after Backlash, Team Angle asked Stephanie for one more title match and Stephanie said they would have to earn their spot and they did so in a triple threat tag team match where Team Angle defeated Scotty 2 Hotty & Rikishi, along with Mark Henry and A-Train. Stephanie McMahon added a stipulation to the WWE Tag Team title match at Judgment Day by making it a Ladder Match. Team Angle added some fuel to the fire by destroying Los Guerrero’s lowrider that was in the parking lot. Los Guerreros didn’t take too kindly to that and destroyed the photo of Kurt Angle that goes everywhere with Team Angle. Los Guerreros vow to end Team Angle at Judgment Day.

Another storyline involving championship gold heading into Judgment Day on Smackdown was for the Cruiserweight Championship of the world. On Smackdown the week after Backlash Matt Hardy lost his rematch clause against current champ Rey Mysterio. On the May 8th Smackdown, Tajiri defeated Billy Kidman and Jamie Noble in a triple threat #1 Contenders Match for Judgment Day. Just a mere 3 days before Judgment Day, Rey Mysterio and Hardcore Holly teamed up to face Tajiri and A-Train. The story coming out of this match was Tajiri spitting the green mist in Mysterio’s eyes which allowed A-Train to pin Mysterio with a double chokeslam. Post match, Tajiri locked Mysterio in the tarantula submission against the ropes until wwe personnel had to intervene. Can Tajiri pull off the upset against the Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Mysterio at Judgment Day and win the title?

“IT’S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME”
(April 28th-May 12th)

Coming off the heels of a momentous Backlash event we turn our attention to Judgment Day which will be another blockbuster and another joint production between Raw and Smackdown. The Raw after Backlash emanated from the great city of Boston, MA and immediately a video package aired highlighting The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin in what was one of the most barbaric matches of this era. The package ends with Stone Cold Steve Austin lying in the ring as his in-ring career is over. As some would have hoped to say one last goodbye to the rattlesnake that was not to be as “Line in the Sand” aired to a chorus of boos as none other than Evolution came to the ring to celebrate Triple H’s successful retention of the World Heavyweight Championship as still photos are shown of Evolution helping the game retain. Triple H gloats about being the greatest champion of all time and that he has run through this place faster than Evolution ran through the alcohol last night at the afterparty. After more bragging, Eric Bischoff came out and congratulated Triple H on retaining last night but his job is to find a contender and to steal the show every single month to stick it to smackdown. Bischoff says the Rock was supposed to be the next challenger as per the victory against Stone Cold Steve Ausitn but unfortunately the Rock tore his clavicle and will need surgery but he will get an opportunity at the World Heavyweight Championship when he returns. Bischoff announces Triple H’s next title defense will be at Judgment Day against the NEWEST member of Raw…..GOLDBERG!!! Goldberg made his entrance to a loud ovation as Triple H and Evolution look like they’ve seen a ghost. The undefeated Goldberg stares down Triple H as Triple H sends Evolution up the stage as Goldberg charges. Goldberg backdrops a charging Batista, Double clotheslines Orton and Flair. Goldberg and Triple H meet face to face for the first time. Triple H slowly retreats alongside his Evolution stable mates. Triple H has finally met his match and will fight Goldberg at Judgment Day for the World Heavyweight Championship. Within the next 2 weeks building to their epic clash for the World Heavyweight Championship, Goldberg cut a promo on the May 5th episode of Raw saying that he has been keeping an eye on WWE from afar and couldn’t stand the way Evolution conducts business and someone had to come and put an end to it and that someone is him. Goldberg vows to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H was nowhere to be found in the arena but was via satellite saying that he and Evolution runs Raw. Triple H compares Goldberg to baseball, how he was so dominant in the minor leagues but the major leagues is a different animal. Goldberg tells Triple H to meet him in the ring next week face to face if he is a man. Triple H accepts and laughs as EVOLUTION ambushes Goldberg. Orton, Flair and Batista ganged up on the challenger. Goldberg managed to fight out of it and took down all three men of Evolution as Triple H is shown on the screen again perplexed. Goldberg tells Triple H “See ya next week Hunter”. Indeed he did see Hunter next week as both men went face to face 6 days before Judgment Day and sparks were flying but Evolution ambushed Goldberg AGAIN in back to back weeks. This week was too much to overcome as Triple H hit Goldberg with a pedigree and raised the title over a fallen Goldberg. Will this be a sign of things to come at Judgment Day this Sunday Night?

Judgment Day is gonna have even more at stake, as Eric Bischoff announced the return of the Intercontinental Championship since being unified in 2002. The Raw GM announced on the May 5th edition of Raw that there would be a Battle Royal at Judgment Day to crown a NEW Intercontinental Champion. The participants were handpicked by Bischoff and were announced on Raw itself and they included: Christian, The Hurricane, Val Venis, Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, William Regal, Rob Van Dam, Kane, Booker T, Goldust, Batista, Ric Flair, Randy Orton, and Shawn Michaels. A couple of storylines mixed with this battle royal match. One being Chris Jericho and Booker T. The former started a brand new talk show called The Highlight Reel on the April 28th episode of Raw. Jericho immediately placed blame on Booker T for costing him the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash and called him a moron. Jericho trashes Booker for not getting the job done at Wrestlemania and shouldn’t have even been there in the first place. Booker T didn’t have much to put into words but instead used his fists as he nailed Jericho with rights and Jericho escaped quickly. Booker destroyed the set as the first episode of the Highlight Reel was a success? Booker challenges Jericho to a match next week which is later accepted. Chris Jericho and Booker T would fight on the May 5th edition of Raw and both men took it to one another. Booker T managed to gain a much needed win as he hit Jericho with a scissors kick after a failed lionsault attempt. The second story mixed with this match is Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton which all started at Backlash when Orton cost Michaels the World Heavyweight Championship by hitting him with an RKO on the outside of the ring. This really came to blows on the May 12th Raw as Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton went one on one. Orton and Michaels tore the house down and really put on a stellar match. HBK looked to end the match with sweet chin music but Evolution members Batista and Ric Flair interfered climbing the apron, Michaels knocked them off but this distraction gave Orton enough time to regroup and land an RKO for the victory. The prestigious Intercontinental Championship is back at Judgment Day and with a ton of Bad Blood going into this match between multiple competitors, who is going to walk out of Judgment as the NEW Intercontinental Champion?

At Backlash, Jazz retained the Women’s Championship thanks to her manager, Teddy Long throwing his show in the ring distracting Trish Stratus. In the aftermath, it got a lot more interesting as Teddy Long announces Rodney Mack as Jazz’s security to guarantee that she remains the Women’s Champion. On the May 5th edition of Raw, Jazz and Victoria teamed up to face Trish Stratus and a partner of her choice. She chose Jacqueline and the duo picked up a shocking win. Jacqueline pinned Victoria in the matchup. Eric Bischoff proceeded to make a Women’s Championship Fatal Four Way Match for Judgment Day including Jazz defending against Jacqueline, Victoria, and Trish Stratus. On the go home show to Judgment Day Jacqueline took on Victoria, who she pinned last week, in a one on one match. Jazz was in Victoria’s corner while Trish Stratus was in Jacqueline's corner. Victoria evened the score between the two as she got the victory after grabbing the rope for leverage. This led to Trish coming into the ring and hit the chick kick on Victoria knocking her head clear off. Jazz immediately rushed in a went for a double clothesline but Trish and Jacqueline ducked and took out Jazz to the outside of the ring. Jacqueline and Trish turned their attention towards one another and both looked down on the ground where the Women’s title lyes. Both women start talking trash as something has to give under the bright lights at Judgment Day. Who will walk out of Charlotte with the Women’s Championship.

WWE
JUDGMENT DAY 2003

May 18th, 2003 | Charlotte, North Carolina

~ OPENING VIDEO ~

Images: Goldberg making his Raw debut shocking Triple H and Evolution and making it clear he wants the World Heavyweight Championship, Triple H laying out Goldberg on Raw. John Cena stealing the WWE Championship and Brock Lesnar giving chase. Cena bad-mouthing Brock Lesnar and finally laying out Lesnar on Smackdown causing him to bleed.

AND NOW WWE PRESENTS JUDGMENT DAY

*Cut to Ringside*

!!! PYRO !!!

J.R & Jerry The King Lawler welcome everyone around the world watching Judgment Day. JR and The King wonder if Goldberg can win the big one or will his undefeated streak come to an end tonight. They toss it to Michael Cole and Tazz as they also welcome everyone watching to Judgment Day and they hype the John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar match. Smackdown gets to get things started tonight at Judgment Day with the Cruiserweight Championship on the line.

**BOOYAKA**

Rey Mysterio makes his way out to the ring as the fans cheer loudly for the current Cruiserweight Championship. As Rey heads to the ring, replays are shown of Tajiri spitting mist in Rey’s face on Smackdown this past week. Cole said Rey has been cleared to wrestle tonight and said he spoke with Rey last night and Rey is very much looking forward to some revenge here tonight at Judgment Day.

**ASIATTACKER**

The challenger, Tajiri makes his way to the ring with his eyes not straying away from the champion, Mysterio. Tajiri gets in the ring as this match is about to begin.

WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

REY MYSTERIO (c) vs. TAJIRI

The bell rings and Mysterio and Tajiri circle the ring before tying up. Both men roll to the floor quickly but head back in to strike it off. Rey goes into a leglock to control which is reversed into an armbar by Tajiri. Quick offense to start as Rey dropkicks the knee out and counters the handspring elbow with a massive dropkick to the back knocking Tajiri to the outside of the ring. Mysterio goes off the ropes and nails a huge suicide dive which the crowd was into with a roar of applause.

Back in the ring now and Rey goes up but has his arm draped over the top and the challenger takes over. Tajiri kicks him HARD in the corner and works over the arm again which was the main target by the challenger as he worked the arm most of the match. Rey managed to get out of a troubling predicament and hits his climbing the ropes wrist drag but just as it looked good for Rey, Tajiri kicks him in the arm again and adds one to the head to take over the matchup.

No one has been able to keep an advantage that long at all in this matchup as we are dead even to kick off Judgment Day. They go up but Tajiri is knocked off by some headbutts by Rey. Rey slowly gets aware and grabs Tajiri by the neck and hits a tornado DDT and covers 1……………2………………NOOOO Tajiri kicks out. Springboard crossbody gets two as well. Crucifix is countered by Tajiri but Rey counters into a pin attempt of his own 1……………2……………NOOO kicked out by the challenger. With one good arm, Rey uses his legs to send Tajiri to the floor. Turns out to be AKIO and SAKODA and both men toss Mysterio into the ring post shoulder first as the crowd erupts in boos. BLOOD IS BOILING

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

STEEL CAGE MATCH
TRIPLE H (C) vs. GOLDBERG
Judgment Day was only the beginning in the rivalry between Triple H and Goldberg especially after how the match ended. Goldberg got screwed as Kevin Nash made his return and attacked the man who put him on the shelf, Triple H. However this led to a DQ and a Triple H retention. The next night on Raw Goldberg wanted Kevin Nash face to face in the ring. Nash obliged saying that he has been sitting at home seething at Triple H who took him out. Triple H tried to take Nash’s livelihood but he will take his World Heavyweight Championship. Goldberg argues that he had the match won and would be World Champion if Nash didn’t stick his nose where it doesn’t belong. This led to the GM Eric Bischoff making a #1 Contender Match for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event between Kevin Nash and Goldberg. These two didn’t have a 5 star wrestling match but had a big man brawl as Nash and Goldberg fought tooth and nail to earn the right to battle Triple H. In the end Goldberg hit a spear and then the jackhammer to Nash for the victory. After the match, Triple H came into the ring along with Batista and Ric Flair and destroyed Goldberg with a sledgehammer to the face. Triple H ordered Flair to grab a chair which he did and Triple H destroyed both Nash and Goldberg with the chair. Triple H told Batista to end Nash. Batista wrapped the steel chair around Nash’s neck and STOMPED ON IT!!!! Nash was bleeding profusely from the mouth as doctors rushed out. Triple H hit the pedigree on Goldberg on the World Title and screamed that he will never be World Champion. Nash gets stretchered out as 3/4s of Evolution look on. The following week on Raw, Eric Bishcoff made the match official for Bad Blood, Triple H will take on Goldberg for the World Heavyweight Championship…..Inside a 15 foot high STEEL CAGE!!! On the go home show to Bad Blood a week later, Goldberg and Triple H had a contract signing for the World Title Match for Bad Blood and all hell broke loose as Goldberg and Triple H brawled in the ring leading to Evolution getting involved taking away the momentum. But Kevin Nash appeared after getting attacked several weeks ago and took out Evolution with boots and focused on the man who tried to end his life, let alone his career, Batista. Orton and Flair get speared, meanwhile Triple H leaves the ring and retreats up the ramp with the title in tow. Goldberg screams at Triple H that he is next this Sunday night at Bad Blood.

KEVIN NASH vs. BATISTA
Kevin Nash will be looking for some revenge against Evolution enforcer Batista after trying to damn near end his career on the Raw after Judgment Day. After the #1 Contender’s match between Kevin Nash and Goldberg, Triple H, Batista and Ric Flair launched an attack on Goldberg and Nash. Batista, taking it too far from orders of Triple H, grabbed a chair and put it around the throat of Nash and stomped on it. Causing Nash to bleed profusely as EMTs and Medics were on hand. Bischoff made a match for Bad Blood pitting Batista against Kevin Nash. Bischoff said Nash will be at Bad Blood but will be out for a couple weeks. On the go home to Bad Blood Nash made his return during the World Title contract signing and focused on one man, Batista and brawled with the Animal to the back. In a match that defines the Pay-Per-View, Bad Blood. Which goliath will win this huge fight?

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
CHRISTIAN © vs. SHAWN MICHAELS vs. RANDY ORTON
Another Evolution member tangled in a rivalry with some Bad Blood would be that of Randy Orton who at Judgment Day failed to win the Intercontinental Championship thanks to one Shawn Michaels, who has been a thorn in Evolutions side for quite some time more specifically, Triple H’s side. Christian ultimately won the Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal at Judgment Day and right away had two fierce challengers looking to pry the title out of his hands. Shawn Michaels eliminated Randy Orton but only after Randy Orton eliminated the other 2 members of Evolution, Batista and Ric Flair. On Raw the next night, Christian had a Intercontinental Championship celebration, in honor of his victory the prior night at Judgment Day, this was interrupted by Shawn Michaels who said he should be champion right now and wants to challenge Christian for the title. Randy Orton interjects himself as well saying that if anyone got screwed last night it was him and if it wasn’t for Shawn he would be the Intercontinental Champion. Bischoff made a match for later in the show, Orton vs. HBK winner will face Christian for the Intercontinental Championship. Orton goes for an RKO on Michaels but Michaels shoves Orton away and clotheslines him out of the ring. Christian sneakily goes for an unprettier but Michaels escapes and Michaels throws Christian out of the ring. Later in the night, Batista and Flair confronted Orton in their locker room but Orton said that he just learned from the best, the cerebral assassin and any one of them would’ve done it and no hard feelings. Batista was more hesitant but Flair actually praised Orton and said he is a true student of the game. Orton said he is gonna take care of business tonight against Shawn Michaels and then will worry about Christian and getting the Intercontinental Title he should’ve won last night. Orton and Michaels had a hell of a match in the middle of the show until CHRISTIAN got involved and hit both men with the title to cause a double DQ/No contest!!! Eric Bischoff later made the match official for Bad Blood, Christian will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels in a triple threat match. Christian stated the following week that he attacked Shawn and Randy because he was sick of getting disrespected that he didn’t deserve to win the Battle Royal. Christian went on to say that even his own family said it was a cheap victory so he is out to prove that it wasn’t a fluke and he will defend his title with honor and dignity. The following week Orton made sure to get Batista and Ric Flair together and make sure they were on the same page heading into Bad Blood and if they have his back. Orton said he will give both of them a shot at the title if they are ringside making sure he walks out champion. Batista and Flair obliged as they all hug as Orton’s face is shown on camera smirking. Is Orton pulling a fast one on his Evolution brethren? On the go home show, Christian hosted the first ever PEEP SHOW with special guests, Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels. Chaos ensued as Michaels attacked Christian with a SWEET CHIN MUSIC leading to Orton attacking Michaels with an RKO. Is Christian biting off more than he can chew? With Randy Orton pulled in two directions with aiding Triple H’s hunt for the World Heavyweight Championship and his own goal of winning the Intercontinental Championship on Sunday, will the pressure be too much and will Batista and Ric Flair really have his “friends” back? Oe will the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels prove that he deserved to win the Intercontinental Championship at Judgment Day?

LAST MAN STANDING
BOOKER T vs. CHRIS JERICHO

The rivalry will finally result in a one on one match when Booker T will fight Chris Jericho at Bad Blood. These two have been going at each other's throats ever since Backlash 2 months ago and have never got a chance to settle their score in a one on one match. First Jericho blamed Booker T for him not being the World Heavyweight Champion at Backlash in their Fatal Four Way match and then he placed blame on Booker again for not winning the Battle Royal for the Intercontinental Championship at Judgment Day. Jericho says he won’t forget Booker eliminating him. It eats him alive and challenges Booker to a match. Booker T gladly accepts, Jericho slaps Booker in the face and quickly gets out of harm's way. This feud escalated to a whole new level when Booker was leaving the arena on the May 26th Raw when out of nowhere a car sped up and ALMOST HIT BOOKER!!! Booker managed to leap out of the way as the car sped off. On the go home show to Bad Blood the following week Booker automatically puts the blame on Jericho and says that there will be Hell to pay at Bad Blood. Booker finds Jericho backstage and attacks him all around the arena. Both men go back and forth until security stops the fight. Bischoff tells both men that Sunday's match at Bad Blood will be LAST MAN STANDING!!! Bischoff says this thing between Booker and Jericho will FINALLY be put to rest this Sunday night in Houston. On the last Raw before the Bad Blood event, Booker T teamed up with Lance Storm to battle Jericho and William Regal in a tornado tag team match. William Regal hit Lance Storm with a pair of brass knucks he had in his shoe leading to Jericho hitting the lionsault to pin Storm. Booker T was handcuffed to the ring mid match therefore couldn’t save his partner. Jericho was handed the brass knucks by Regal and beat Booker with them 3 times which caused a bloody mess. Jericho locked in the Walls of Jericho to a bloody Booker T as refs and medical personnel rush to the ring to try and stop this brutal attack. Jericho finally lets go as Jericho wipes Booker’s blood on his chest and laughs and tells Booker “See you Sunday Book”.

BRASS KNUCKLES ON A POLE MATCH
WILLIAM REGAL vs. LANCE STORM

Another rivalry that has some Bad Blood to it for a few months has been between WIlliam Regal and Lance Storm and this started at Backlash earlier this year when Regal and Storm were partners albeit not very long were challenging the then World Tag Team Champions Kane & RVD. Regal and Storm couldn’t get the job done and Regal had enough and attacked Storm with brass knuckles leaving Storm in a bloody mess. Fast forward to Judgment Day Storm eliminating William Regal from the Battle Royal and brawling throughout the arena. Eric Bischoff proceeded to make a match at Bad Blood between Storm and Regal but it would be a Brass Knuckles on a Pole Match. The rules stated that the first person to grab the Brass Knuckles may use them legally in the match. Pinfall and submission is the only way to win and the decision must be after someone has grabbed the knucks. Regal got the final laugh however on the June 9th Raw when he and Chris Jericho teamed up to take on Booker T and Lance Storm. Regal blindsided Strom with a club with a pair of brass knucks that he hid in his boot leading to Jericho hitting a lionsault and winning the match. With two veterans looking to settle the score and end this rivalry for good, who will come out on top?

RVD vs. KANE
As you saw above, you probably wondered why Kane and RVD were “Then World Tag Team Champions” as if they lost their gold. Well they did on the night after Judgment Day on the May 19th edition of Raw. Kane and RVD are already on the ropes due to RVD eliminating Kane in the Intercontinental title Battle Royal on Judgment Day. In turn, Kane entered back into the match and chokeslammed his tag team partner, Rob Van Dam to the mat below. On Raw Bischoff forced these 2 men to defend the Tag Team championships against La Resistance so they better work together. Kane walked out of the match right when the bell rang which in the end led to RVD losing the match along with the World Tag Team Championships. The following weeks RVD found another tag team partner in Goldust and got a rematch for the World Tag Team Championships. Flames would light up the turnbuckle when RVD went up for the frog splash leading to a victory and retention for La Resistance. Kane then proceeded to come out and chokeslam both Goldust and RVD. The next week a match was made for Bad Blood between Kane and RVD. Kane UNMASKED HIMSELF on RAW and proceeded to chokeslam RVD OFF THE STAGE AREA!!!! This would put RVD out for sometime and actually haven’t seen or heard from him since the attack. Will RVD even show up at Bad Blood to confront his former friend and tag team partner?

WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
LA RESISTANCE (C) vs. THE DUDLEY BOYZ

Speaking of the World Tag Team Championships, as stated above, La Resistance defeated RVD and Kane to win the World Tag Team Championships for the first time. In the rematch against RVD and his chosen partner, Goldust due to Kane leaving, La Resistance managed to retain their tag team gold. A match was made for Bad Blood between La Resistance and the Dudley Boyz after the Dudley Boyz defeated Chief Morley and Chris Nowinski, and Scott Steiner and Rodney Mack, and Maven and Steven Richards in a Fatal Four Way #1 Contender’s Match.

WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

TRISH STRATUS vs. JAZZ ©
In the final match at Bad Blood, it's for the Women’s Championship and is stated as Trish Stratus’s last chance at the Women’s Championship as long as Jazz is champion. Trish earned an opportunity at the title by defeating Victoria in a one on one match on Raw. This was made because Victoria and Trish did not take the pinfall loss at Judgment Day in the fatal four way match. Jazz laid out Trish the week after and said she’s beaten Trish once and she will beat her again. Teddy Long guarantees victory. One the go home show Rodney Mack goes to put Trish through a table at the demand of Jazz but BIG POPPA PUMP, SCOTT STEINER makes the save and takes out Rodney Mack. Trish powerbombed Jazz through the table instead. Looks like Steiner has Trish’s back heading into Bad Blood. Can Trish end the reign of Jazz?
